We have many shared contacts within our organization, and a tremendous amount of Active contacts for users to sift through when looking for a shared contact.     - CRM Locking up on Activities After upgrading from 1.0 to 1.2, many of my users are complaining of their machines locking up (a full reboot is required). They can click the first activity, and can usually save a note in it (although one had it lock up on the save) but when they click the second activity, it locks.     - CRM Menu Has Different Colors We have a couple of users that do not have the default colors for MS CRM 1.2. The colors of the side menu bar goes from very dark blue to black. When I have them log on to another computer everything is fine, so I assume it must be a setting on that computer. Has anyone seen anything like this before and know how to fix it?     - CRM email template question I need to create a email template in HTML format. I put the html commands in the email the message shows up with the html commands in the body. The only editing the template will let you do is font color and size. Where are the email templates stored on the CRM server so that I may edit them there?     - Crystal Reports Problem Everytime we attempt to run a report in MSCRM we are received an "Invalid job number. File ." error. The system was running fine, and just spontaneously began doing this. There were no changes to the server that should have impacted CRM at all. Any ideas would be great.     - Duplicate Account Checking Script Hi all, I tried to use the sample script found here http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp? url=/library/en-us/dnmbscrm/html/mbs_crmappdup.asp but it doesn't works with my CRM 1.2 .I change the server name in ISVAccount.cs, got an error. I found the name of the dll is not the same in CRM 1.0 and CRM 1.2 1.0 = Microsoft.CRM.Proxy 1.2 = Microsoft.CRM.Platform.Proxy So I replace the wrong name in ISVAccount.cs with new one, stil an error. The issue=20 started when I whent off line with an Outlook2003. The=20 problem was that I could not go back on line again. I have an open case with Microsoft=20 and have tried to manually create publishing following their procedures, but to no avail. This is the way the original post appeared when I first found it. Read it all then decide for yourself. It works for me! I found this on a bulletin board and decided to try it.     - Outlook custom form error I made some changes to the Account and Contact forms, published them and all works fine via the web however now when I try to open a CRM linked Contact form I receive an error stating that Outlook cannot find the custom form and will use the standard form.     - CRM on Outlook I tried installing the sales for outlook component on Outlook 2003 running Win XP pro. It locked up towards the end (98% approx) during the SQL SP3. Now I try to re- install but it said that it has to be removed before it can be re-installed. I can't find the option to remove from the add / remove programs. How can this be removed?     - Cannot install crystal enhancement for CRM 1.2 After running MFR release of CRM 1.0, then installing the Developer release of CRM 1.2, I attempted to install crystal reports enhancements from 1.2, and got the following error message: "Setup has detected that you have Crystal Reports 9.2.0. You must first upgrade to Crystal 9.2.2 to continue with this setup." This issue is discussed in the Business Objects KB (MSCRM MS CRM CREE INSTALLATION ERROR CRYSTAL REPORTS ENHANCEMENT CD), and the solution presented is to uninstall Crystal Reports 1.2.0, then install 1.2.2. However, Crystal reports does not show up in Add/Remove Programs, and does not appear to be installed at all. I never installed the crystal enhancement for 1.0 (never even got CRM 1.0 to work), and there's no Crystal Reports folder in my program files directory. There is a crystal decisions folder in the MSCRM directory, but I can't find an uninstall package there (and I'm not sure if uninstalling Crystal Decisions would do anything to fix this, anyway).     - Custom View Joining MULTIPLE Entities I've seen a couple of posts that indicate it's "possible" to create a query (which our sales team would use as the source for a view) which pulls data from multiple entities (e.g. - Account AND Contact), but I haven't seen any FetchXML examples.     - CRM email: Implementing auto-unsubscribes? Hello there, We would like to use CRM's email capabilities to handle the sending of newsletters and other materials to contacts in CRM. We would also like recipients of these materials to be able to click a link which would take them off the recipient list. The most obvious way I see of pulling this off would be to add a "Click to Unsubscribe" link to the outgoing email which links to a custom page that then sets the "Allow email" field in CRM to false. Does this sound like the appropriate path to take? If so, how would I go about getting the custom link inserted into the outgoing email? When trying to insert a data field in the email template editor, there is nothing indicating a unique ID of any sort with the Contact object.     - Migrating CRM to CRM We had to delete the OU from the Active Directy, and now cannot get to our data. Reading through the posts it looks as though we have to use the DMF to convert our data because of the GUIDs that are hard-coded in the files. Unless someone knows of a utility that I can use to change the GUIDs in the Active Directory - but we tried a number of different things. So, is there an easy method to import CRM data into CRM? I tried using SQL DTS to the cdf_entities, but this is like pulling teeth, and don't know if I am going to be losing any data. Anyone have any insight into getting this done quickly and completely?     - Installing Outlook CRM I am running CRM 1.2 on SBS 2003. The Outlook client will not install on my workstations. The workstations are running WinXP Pro with Outlook 2003. I tried installing as local admin and domain admin. I get the following message in both cases: "MS CRM Sales for Outlook Setup cannot continue because Microsoft Outlook has not been initialized. To continue, cancel Setup, open and then close Outlook, and then start Setup again." It does not matter how many times I open and close Outlook. I get the same message trying the install on any of my workstations. All help is appreciated.     - Fetch Xml: filter condition question I'm trying to get all appointment activities. (activitytypecode = 142) So I use this code witch I think should work: ... <filter type='and'> <condition attribute='activitytypecode' operator='eq' value='142'> </filter> ...     - Close Window Warning In many instances while navigating MS CRM, I am running into the warning message that the "webpage I am viewing is trying to close the window..." I understand that this is an IE security setting and that it is beneficial in many ways, but it is truly infuriating when you are trying to work within CRM. I am unable to pin down the specific security setting that activates this functionality. Can someone point me in the right direction before I have a mutiny on my hands?     - Copying CRM to a duplicate domain We are trying to recreate our CRM environment in a duplicate domain for testing and trying to work out some of these timeout issues. Basically we are bringing up a DC, replicating AD, taking it down, removing it from the network (no cables what so ever) and bringing it back up and promoting it to master DC. We want to get all of the AD info, because we want to use all of the data we have for a true test environment. The plan was: DC on one box - CRM/SQL on another.. SQL is ready to go (will need to be updated again!) and We can do the CRM part with our hands behind our back. but syncing up the AD is quite another issue.. We have it on our CRM domain, then we try physically removing it from the domain and bringing it back up as a master - doesn't work. Needless to say, we are having issues with the DC bit..     - CRM Certification I am interested in pursuing MS CRM certification for all three 1.2 tests currently available. Does anyone have any recommendations for prep for these exams? I am the in- house database administrator but we brought in an outsource consultant for our CRM deployment prior to my coming on board. I have picked up a bunch of the technical specifics but there are gaping holes in my knowledge. I also purchased the 'Using Microsoft CRM' by Brown & Gravely as well. I did notice that MS is offering E- Courses in the requisite areas of certification for between $350 and $550 a piece.     - Deployment Manager Error (CRM 1.2) We can manage users from CRM Web interface, but not from deployment manager. When we try to access the user manager through the deployment manager, we get 'Login failure for user 'NT AUTHORITY\ANONYMOUS LOGON'.     - Replication on CRM database I want to set up SQL replication of the CRM data to another server so that we can link to the data without messing with CRM. Can anybody think of a reason why I should not do this? The only thing I can think of is that CRM SQL is already replicating. I think I would create another publication so that if I wanted to stop it, it would not mess with the default replication. Can you have two publications of the exact same thing? Or would it be better to just add another subscriber to the current replication? I'd love to hear if anybody had any good/bad experiences doing this, or just thoughts on it. Thanks.     - Change default duration of tasks (especially e-mails generated from workflows) Anyone have ideas for changing the default duration of tasks that are generated from workflows? (or all tasks for that matter) The reason I'm looking for this is that if a workflow fires an e-mail based on a template to the customer; and if it has a duration of 30 minutes; that skews the overall time reported to the user during case resolution. No one did 30 minutes of work while the workflow sent an automated e-mail.     - Activities View & Regarding Field Is it possible to see the Regarding name in the activities view? I know it is possible to exit the activity view throught the view editor e.g. http://crm/tools/viewEditor/viewManager.aspx?id={00000000-0000-0000-00AA-000010001902} for all activities though this only allows addition of a few fields. if I look in the SavedQueryBase, the view {00000000-0000-0000-00AA-000010001902} gives a FetchXml string with the activity fields. the display text for the regarding field is available in the Activity view as the ObjectName field Can one simply add the ObjectName field to this to provide the regarding field, or it is much more complex. This is a big omission for us, as having the account name (which we populate in the regarding field of an activity would be so useful. We have many shared contacts within our organization, and a tremendous
amount of Active contacts for users to sift through when looking for a
shared contact. Is it possible to have multiple users view the same
contacts in the "My Contacts" view?
