Hi everyone,

We have an odd problem going on here with this.

When we create a new E-mail in Outlook, select the To button and the CRM
Contacts, it brings up the list of contacts from CRM that we can select
from. All good so far.

The problem is that each contact appears several times and it's different
for different users.

For example, every contact appears 6 times for me. It makes for a very long
list. All of them are valid and any one of those 6 can be selected and the
address will be correct and it will track against the correct contact.
Other users have anywhere from the correct amount (1 of each contact) up to
4 of each contact.

My system was used for initial testing as were some of the others that are
showing multiple entries.

I have tried uninstalling CRM from this PC, removing all mention of it
anywhere on the PC and re-installing again. No change.

I also tried to Synch Outlook with CRM from within Outlook. No Change.

I'm guessing there is an address book cache somewhere on the PC. Does anyone
know if that is the case? If so, where is it and what can I do to
remove/restore it?

Regards,
Jim

Yes, there is a local cache. Try this and see if it cleans up your files:
1) Delete the .xml files from userprofile\Application
Data\Microsoft\MSCRM\ABP\Online and Offline\
2) Restart Outlook and wait a few minutes for the ABP lists to be
regenerated.

Hi Jason,

Thank you very much this has resolved the problem.

The contacts file was over 10Mb.After deleting all the XML files, they were
re-created after about 5 mins, at which point the contacts file was only
4Mb.

Thank you very much. I'd been looking for a solution to this one for a
couple of months now, so I'm glads to finally have the mystery resolved. :-)

Regards,
Jim
