    - multips errors when emailing from CRM 1.2 Since installation, I have received the following 2 errors in my app log on every email that passes through my exchange server, even it if has nothing to do with CRM.     - Replication and Publication We need some help, had to move CRM from SBS 2003. When reinstalled CRM on the new server and pointed it the database. It didn't replicate or create the publication. Try to run the command to enable replication and it error out. Found the role MSmerge was missing and some for the table entry were also missing.     - How can you show Sub-Account in a LookUp field I need to create an organization tree,(sub accounts under accounts such as Dept of A -> Dept 1a -> Dept 1b -> Dept 1c When a user clicks on the LookUp field on the Customer/Departmen field on the Opportunity form, the user should be able to go down th tree and select Dept 1c instead of just being able to select Dep of A - so I want the sub account to show up and be selected instea of just the parent account Any suggestions on how to do this Thanks!     - Too Slow to Sync records between ERP and MSCRM One of our clients are using API/SDK stuff to develop an interface to sync between ERP and MSCRM...importing/updating account/contact records. However, the speed is extremely SLOW. I effectively did the a thing by multithreading my application. Performance jumped from 2records/second to 10records/second. That's with 8 threads running someobject.update. At that point, sql server cpu usage jumps to 90%, at which point I suspect it hits the disk io limit. 10rec/second is still way to slow (a nightly sync between our backend and crm takes 3 hours). Interestingly, the fastest rate I am able to create records is also 10/second, however cpu usage stays around 4%. Can anyboday comment or help? thanks. Jonathan Jiang Enfowell Inc.     - CRM SFO setup Hi Everyone: I am having some problems with the SFO client. Situation: I have a machine that is not joined to the domain. The machine is updated accordingly with all of the latest SP's. At this point it is joined to the domain. Now, at this point there are 2 different profiles. The one for the local machine and then the one for the domain. All of my outlook is on the local machine. I proceed to log onto the domain and then my outlook does the new installation as it should. Here is my BIG situation: This machine is a travelling machine is rarely in the office. There might be points that this machine does not have an internet connection, say the sales person is on the plane. At this point the person is forced to log onto the local machine as the domain is not accessible. When there is a internet connection, everything is fine and the user is able to log on, but it is the situation that they have to log onto the local machine. Is there anyway around this? Basically, though what is the use of the offline/online if they can only user the domain? Has anyone come across this? If not how are you using this to accomidate your users?     - External Error - No such object on server I recently did a rebuild of CRM 1.2 on Windows 2000 server. Everything appeared to be going fine when I started getting access error messages and then... External Error - No such object on server Thew selected object could not be found. Verify the object exists in both the database and Active Directory. Now I'm pretty much stuck. I've read in some places this has to do with AD and the databases not being in synch. The last thing they did was give me this "Microsoft Open License Order Confirmationi", and it has license and authorization numbers, and was told that I would shortly receive a link to where I can enter this and get my new CRM keys.........     - Crystal Reports Help In creating a Crystal report, I created formula fields called Total1 and Total2. Total1 totals line 1 and Total2 totals line 2. This works fine. I then created TotalOpp which simply adds up Total1 and Total2. This works fine too as long as both Total1 and Total2 have data, but if either is Null it sets the result for TotalOpp to Null instead of the value for the Total field that wasn't Null.     - Cannot Reinstall Outlook Client I uninstalled the outlookclient and it errored out during the process. I want to reinstall the outlook client and I am unable to proceed. It says the application is already installed on this computer. If you do not see it than maybe another user installed it. If you press Esc key twice on a form containing picklist fields, the picklist display changes to its original internal value. that too, all the picklists in the form.     - Populating fields from Custom form to an Original form Hi all, I am building a custom form (modal dialog window) with the SDK which opens on top of the opportunity form. Its purpose is to extract users from the database in a dropdown list and allows the client to select one and populate the selected value back into a text field in the Opportunity form. I have about 7 fields to populate to the Opportunity form which explains the need for a custom form. The problem arises when I want to populate the Opportunity fields from the select item chosen from the drop-down box. My colleague recommended using JavaScript specifically the 'onblur' method and/or session variables. However is there a quick and dirty method of extracting values from one form and populating another one. I already have a JavaScript method on my custom page which does the following: ------------------------------------------------------------------------- document.CrmForm.TextField.value = DropDownList.SelectedItem.Text; ------------------------------------------------------------------------- ie. put value on the dropdown list on custom form and populate it to Opp form Note: CrmForm > the form id of the Opportunity form DropDownList.SelectedItem.Text > Value in the Custom form I have development done on my local machine and the CRM exists on a server.     - SQL Server Security Setting Hi! I've been using a local administrator on the CRM server to run the deployment manager. To get this to work, I had to get my friendly DBA to grant me SA Administrator privileges in SQL Server. This works fine. But, he is unhappy about giving me that privilege indefinitely. The LAN administrators would prefer to keep me out of the Domain Administrators group as well. Does anyone know what security settings I could be using in SQL Server instead?     - CRM for Outlook Configuration Failed I uninstalled CRM for Outlook v1.2 I did not follow the steps on pg 376 of the implemenation guide. I uninstalled SQL first and then CRM for Outlook. I haev deleted the folders on step 5 and 6 I want to reinstall CRM for Outlook on my computer however it get an error message that it is already installed on my computer that another user is using it.     - MSCRM 1.2 - Delete user In my test lab, I added a domain user via the Deployment Management snap-in. I later realized that the user's name was misspelled and deleted the account from AD. The user however was not deleted from CRM.     - Estimated cash flow quarterly Is there any way I could add a quterly estimated cash flow field to an opportunity form? For example if we signed a contract and a client going to pay 50% up front (Q2 2004) and then another 25% in (Q3 2004), etc. Management wants to run a more accurate report on future cash flows. I was looking for a way to modify the Activity List. I know there is
no simple way, but a creative solution, "Not Out of the Box" will be
of interest to me. Obviously I want to include Account or Contact
Name in the Activity List.

Hi Steve, depending on which specific activity view you are referring to,
you can use an undocumented tool to edit it. Use the URL below to edit the
view. Replace GUID with the ID of the specific view you wish to edit.
Unfortunately, the regarding field is not available for all activity views,
and some of the views can't be customized (i.e. homepage, workplace) without
major unsupported mods.

You can find the GUID for views in the SavedQueryBase table.
