    - emailing scheduled reports in CRM 3.0 Hi, I require an urgent help! I am being able to schedule reports using Report Scheduling Wizard in CRM 3.0. However my requirement is that the same scheduled reports should be available in E-mail to the user. How do you go about doing this? How do we get the scheduled report snapshots available in E-mail to the users mailbox. It will be of great help if anyone can throw some light on this.     - cannot insert email template for unresolved contact Hi guys, Using the Web Client of Microsoft CRM 3.0, when I am sending an email and try and insert a template and the "To" field has a "unresolved contact" (its red) I get a system error. I have tried this on three different CRM 3.0 systems and they all do it. I am wondering is this a known bug for CRM 3.0 or does anyone have a solution?     - Workflow not Automatic Hello, I wanted to say that this is a really great forum on Microsoft CRM. I am am newbie to Mircosoft CRM. I am i nthe process of creating a workflow that Cchanges the Lead status to 'Qualified' and Assigns it to a different user, when the Rating is set to 'Hot'. I logged into CRM server as the user and created the Workflow using an If-Action condition. After saving it, I activated it. Then I logged into the client using the same User that I used in creating the workflow and created and Saved the new lead. The Rating at this time was 'Warm. Then I set the Rating to 'Hot' and saved the record. I expected the activated workflow to change the Lead status and assignment, but nothing happened. The Status never changed and neither did the assignment to nother user occoured. However, then I went to 'More Actions-> Apply Rule' and the explicitely applied the workflow, it worked.     - Best Practice for large number of checkbox/bit attributes I am working on a deployment of CRM 3.0 for my company and one of the requirements is to track a large number of checkboxes (bit fields) for contacts. These are used to track skill sets, certifications, and other similar data. There are about 125 of these items and they could add to this list over time. Looking at this requirement from my ASP.NET background, I would easily solve this with a lookup table of "skills" with all the skills listed and allow the user to add skills and populate a "user_skills" table based on what they added. However, I just can't get my mind around how this would be done in CRM. I've tried creating a new custom entity named "Skills" with a "Skill Name" primary attribute and added a relationship between it and Contacts, but that doesn't allow me to choose from the list of skills (only add to it). I started to test the workaround to the many-to-many limitation, but that doesn't seem to be the right direction either. Plus none of the methods will allow me to use a simple checkbox interface for fast data entry. I'm not looking for a complete solution to this question, but rather just some advise on how to think about this the CRM way. One easy solution (that keeps popping in my head each time I work on this) is just to create 125 attributes in the Contacts entity and be done with it, but that just seems like really _bad_ practice.     - Workflow to create relationships We track attendees who attend certain meetings and we do this through a contact to account relationship. Right now, we are going into each contact and creating each relationship manually. Can anyone think of an easier way to do this - it is becoming rathger time consuming.     - E-mail reply tracking in Opportunity We have a process where discounts above certain % need an approval of VP of sales. To get the approval, the user creates a task (e-mail) and sends to VP Sales for approval. The outgoing e-mail is stored in History with the tracking number. When the VP replies to the e-mail with track in CRM enabled, it should get attached to the opportunity. It does not happen. Unless the reply has regarding selected, it does not get attached to opportunity.     - Web Page Dialog fields Q1. When I Cancel the Order (or close the Opportunity), the Web Page Dialog pops up. This dialog has a "Description" field. Where is this information stored? I cancelled an Order, enetered the description, but could not locate it anywhere on the form. I also checked the FilteredSalesOrder view in database and it is not there either. I wanted to include this information in an e-mail generated by workflow rule on order status change. Q2 The same web page dialog box (Cancel order) has Status reason which has only one drop down option "No Money". However, the attribute statuscode of salesorder has only two choices - New & Pending.     - Custom Entity Relationship Attribute Here is my situation: I need to have an entity. Let's call it Split. That has a one to many relationship to Contact. One Split to many contacts. Each contact will need to be given a percentage in relation to this Split. However, this percentage would not be an attribute of either the Split(as each contact would have a different percentage) or the contact(as this contact would only have this percentage in relation to this split).     - Advanced Find to include All Contacts related to Account Records We have a need to run an Advanced Find where the results from the Accounts entity will display/print "ALL" Contacts associated with the Account - not just the Primary Contact. We may be missing something very simple here, but we have just not been able to do this.     - Can't add new report in CRM 3.0 if report made with Report Builder I'm currently testing our setup of CRM 3.0 and SSRS2005 which are on the same server. I can successfully design a custom report in VS2005 report designer, and then add the report from within CRM -- viewing the report works fine, too. But, when I create a report model in VS2005, and then create a report using the Report Designer, CRM can't upload the file. I receive the following error: System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. Why can't CRM add the report from report builder? I can add this report to the server from within VS2005, and actually view it from within CRM, but I get an error if I attempt to "edit" the report in CRM. I've promoted a Lead to a Contact, and the Lead record's ContactId is not being populated as I had expected. I then checked the ContactLeads table and thought maybe that's where the link was being made but that table is also empty. Does CRM not maintain the Lead-Contact relationship by default?     - Workflow rule - Lead Qualification Hi We have created a workflow rule for our sales people to complete 4 tasks when a lead is qualified. The rule we created is: When Lead status is changed Update:Lead:Status Reason = Qualified Task:Send Terms & Conditions to contact Task:Complete Client Authorization Task:Notify debtors control to create the new account Task:Link contact to newly created account This rule works fine however when a Lead is disqualified, the tasks are created. The condition we included is Lead, Status Reason = qualified so we are unsure why on disqualification the tasks are created again. Could someone please explain why this is?     - Contract Renewal Error on Leap Years If a contract is renewed using the Actions> Renew contract function, and the new start or end date falls in a Leap Year, the new day for the date is incorrect. e.g. Old Contract Start date 1/10/2006 End date 30/9/2007 Renewal dates should be 1/10/2007 and 30/9/2008 but the new end date is calculated as 29/9/2008 ! This means all the contract line dates are wrong as well. However, when it is part of an assembly and called by the workflow engine (is part of the code to promote an e-mail to a case) the code fails with the following error: Unable to cast object of type 'WorkFlowAssemblyXXX.CrmSdk.QueryByAttribute' to type 'WorkFlowAssemblyXXX.CrmSdk.QueryBase'.     - Data Migration Pack extremely slow We are trying to import aproximately one million records from external custom applications. We have copy all the data into de appropiate CDF tables but the problem is that when we run migration, it is extremely slow. We get a performance of 4 records/second so the complete migration runs for about 70 hours ! We are using SQL Server 2005 64 bitsas the database server. The machine has an AMD Opteron dual CPU with 8GB RAM. Hard drive is SCSI 15.000 rpm. Has anyone experienced similiar problem? Any idea about improving performance.     - Deactivated Leads and Marketing Lists It seems like CRM should remove deactivated Leads from any Marketing Lists on which the Lead is a member. Likewise with Accounts that are deactivated. I was wondering if there is a way, or a best pratice guide that i could
follow, to migrate all our invoices pricelist fax info and stuff to a newly
build CRM server.

curretnly all our data and customer info are on microsoft word and excel
sheets including stock information and other stuff. we do not have a
centralised database and everything is all stored on a file server.
