Guys,

I am trying to install the Outlook Laptop Client by pushing it out from the
SBS2003 SP1 box.

Every time, i get the same error message:

"Microsoft.Crm.Setup.Client.GrantUserPersmissionsAction failed. The ASP.NET
install path could not be determined from the registry."

Anybody got any ideas/?

No-one (as far as I know) has ever succeeded in deploying Sales for Outlook
using s/w deployment tools like AD Group Policy Objects , SMS etc

So, unfortunately, you just cannot "push it out "

Just have to follow the installation instructions as is...

With v3.0, you can deploy the client via GPO. I have not done it yet though
with v3.0, but I know there have been install issues around SBS, especially
around reporting.

What do you mean by "pushing it out"?. Are you using the SBS feature of
assigning applications to client machines?

BTW, Both the outlook clients can be installed if they are "publised" in
Group Policy and then user goes and installs it from the Add Remove
Programs -> New Programs list.

Can you elaborate on your client OS config and what version of dot net
framework you have installed? Also the client install log file from
%appdata%\Microsoft\MSCRM\Logs\crm30clientsetup.log will help

I have deployed the outlook client on CRM 3.0 using GPO in a test
environment and been successful. Just not on SBS though

can you also outline the steps you have taken. I assume you have already
published or assigned the package to the GPO?
