Catastrophic Failure Error
Good morning,
I was hoping someone has come across this error that we
seem to be getting in our system. Our system was fully
operational last friday and for some reason it just
suddenly decided to die on us. I have tried to sign on
through Internet Explorer and it actually displays the
message box for the username and password. But after
clicking ok, I receive the error message below. Also,
our Sales for Outlook seems to be having the same problem
as well. I noticed a problem even before the IE log on
issue when I tried to check for current users in our
system through the Deployment Manager module. It wouldnt
load properly saying snap ins didnt apply I think. I
have tried to re-register mscrmsecurity service but no
luck. Its registered properly. If someone could suggest
a possible resolution to this error, I'd appreciate it

Microsoft CRM Sales for Outlook Removal
I am unable to remove the 'Microsoft CRM' folder because
it is read only and I can't seem to change this property.
Furthermore I can not remove the program from the add and
remove programs list because an error message comes up
saying that CRM is no longer on the machine. The
original user that had installed this software has been
deleted from this machine. I need a way to make a
registry edit so that CRM can be removed or installed
under another user.

Multiple Remote Office Sites
Hi all..
Have a (potential) customer here who wants to set up a MSCRM 1.2 install
across multiple remote sites, users in the remotes will be accessing via IE,
any recomendations on the best way to set this up???
Some of these sites will not have a dedicated internet connection / VPN
connection, is it possible to have multiple SQL servers syncing against the
master database on a schedule? Does MSCRM play well when it has been split
in to lots of small bits??? how is the exchange aspect going to get on with
all this mess????

Manual Workflow Rule fails (v1.2)
Hello
I have a very simple Manual workflow rule (on Account) that updates a field on the Account.
When I try to apply it (Actions>Apply Rule) the standard "an error has ocurred..contact administrator" appears
1) The instance never appears in the WF monitor at all
2) I have switched debugging on in web.config - no change
3) The MSCRM Event log is attached below
4) when I have EXACTLY the same action but have a rule triggered by Create (not Manual) it works fine
5) All other Manual rules fail in the same way, and regardless of the object (have tried Contact)
6) have rebooted server, stopped and started WF service, cleared all rules out and started from scratch....
any suggestions gratefully received - I am completely stumped and getting very annoyed. Has anyone else experienced this (either with or without resolution?)

beim Konvertieren von Leads nach Firmen und /oder Kontakten und/oder
Verkaufsschancen bekomme ich folgende Fehlermeldung:
"Doppelter Datensatz. Ein Eintrag dieser Art mit dem gleichen Namen ist

Account form customization does not show on existing accounts
I have just customised the Accounts form and added 2 new
tabs.
When I create a new account the tabs are visible however
all of the existing accounts do not show these tabs???

Big problems with a Query - help!
Queries were nice until I ran into this. I've got a
query that pulls the accountid, name, zip, and the
parentaccountid fields from the accounts data.
Get this - it REPLACES my parentaccountid field with
something called "result_Id" and it's 1-x based on the
row value.
This is driving me nuts. How on earth can I return the
parentaccountid? It's more than likely due to a foreign
key issue, but...

Schema Customizations
We have a test crm server that contains schema changes
for several customers. The work for one of those
customers is complete but since our test system includes
changes for other customers we cannot simply export are
schema and import it into the completed customer's schema.
I am hesistant to manually enter the required changes
directly on the customer's system since a typing error
requires in many cases that the db be restored. Another
way to move the changes would be as follows:
(1) export the test server schema to file A
(2) export the customer schema to file B
(3) move the appropriate xml from file A to file B
(4) import file B back to the customer system
I have looked at the xml files and it seems straight-
forward. Has anyone else done such a thing? Are there

workflow email adresses
Is there any way to route emails through workflow to any
other address than the users primary address. For example
when a case is assigned to a user send an email to cell
phone text message. Also to send to a group email
address when a case is added to a que. It only appears

What we've come up with is:
1) Qualify the Lead
2) Manually create the Account & Master Account (if

4) Associate the Lead to the Contact
Does this sound about right, and has anyone done this yet?

Hi,
Whenever I try to gain access to the CRM server via http://crmserver thru my
machine's web browser, the browser magically just closes and disappears. I
can access http://crmserver on other machines (W2K, XP) running IE 6 with
SP1a.
I have an XP machine with all the latest updates, IE 6 w/ SP1a etc... I'ver
tried W2K machines; some have failed with the same problem as above and
other work fine.
I'm trying to narrow down the cause but can't seem to pinpoint it. Can
somone point me in the right direction.

when trying to access CRM i get "0x80040E4D"-Error

i had a working installation of ms-crm 1.2 on a windows 2000 server (sp4),
with ms-sql 2000 (sp3). all was fine. now i have
updated this server to windows 2003. after the update i could not access the
ms-crm-webiste anymore.

Incoming mail to crm activity. Where does it go?
I have installed the email router on our Exchange server. Now I am able to
sen outgoing mails from CRM that gets a guid to it. But when i reply to the
mail I cant find the mail in any activity. No error messages what so ever.
When we try to send a mail to a user in CRM and promote it to a crm activity
it does not appear anywhere either.
Exchange server is the only email server in the org.
Could someone lead us to the right track?

onto two servers and am wondering if anyone has any

I have had an application that was inserting Leads into my
CRM 1.2 from web, using SOAP.
After installing the 3 available updates last friday, and
one security update from Crystal Decisions, this
application cannot even authenticate to the CRM system.
The error happens right after the WhoAmI method from the
1.2 SDK:

View Problems - Column Heading Text Not Displaying
Hi,
We've got an installation of MS CRM 1.2 which is mostly working correctly
however we have a proplem with the column header text not displaying in
views when viewing the lists of accounts/contacts/leads etc..
The headers are there but without any text and if we click on one to sort
the list by that column, the following error is given:

How to delete some sample CRM Data
I created some test data as Quota, Order, Product. And now
CRM doesn't allow me to delete some of them because of
they became read only data.
Is there any way to delete active or closed quota, Order
etc, and products that in used?
If I delete the user account who is own the records that I

workflow activity error
Hi there!
One of my users cannot mark Complete an activity when it is assigned to him
through a workflow and not directly. Another one cannot delete an email from
a queue, although he can see or accept it. Can you help me work out these
two problems?
For the first one I have tried to give him even CEO privileges and still it
is not working...

Inviting other users to an appointment
When we create a new appointment in CRM, and invite other
users also in crm, they don't get meeting invitiations.
If we open the appointment in Outlook, we see the
organizers name "First Last" and then the other users in
the form "domainname\user1", and no free busy information
is available.
Their "Domain Logon Name", is set
to "domainname\username", should it have been
just "username"?

Removing Picklist Values
I understand that removal (deletion) of picklist values in
CRM has a number of "gotchas" that you need to be
cognizant of as you plan to perform this task. I have not
found any documentation that purports to contain any of
the aforementioned problems and I am a bit concerned that
I am going to miss something.
I really need to get rid of some values that are not
as "valuable" as they were communicated during
implementation planning. Can anyone give me some pointers
on what to look out for or perhaps point me to some
documentation that would do the same?

I have imported the data using Scribe, but not everything was linked
correctly, does anyone know of a way to blow the data without

Resolving KDC error... which SPN do I remove???
Hi all.
Using the LDAP tool I have found that my domain controller
and my admin account have two matching Service Prinicipal
Names.
HOST/COMPUTER NAME
Host/COMPUTER NAME.mydomain.com
Everything that I have read tells me to delete the
duplicate SPN.
How do I know which item to remove the duplicate from?
Do I remove it from the Domain Controller or the Admin
account?
