Is there a way to use the import procedure to bring multiple user's contacts
into MS CRM at one time? In my tests, the account owner defaults to the
logged in user at the time of the import.

Thanks,

David

The import tool in the web GUI lets you import .csv files, so you could just
export each Outlook address book into a csv file. Add columns in it for owner
name, and then when you import them you can map the owner name column to the
user in CRM (make sure you set up each user first in CRM). You will be
prompted to do a lookup to match each owner name with the user. If you have a
column in the contact.csv that has the company name, you can map that to an
account as well, assuming the account is already in CRM.

Hi Matt,

I can not see a target field "owner" during mapping phase of import. Is
there a way that can be exposed ?

Thanks
Kishore

That was a very old post referring to the import process for CRM 1.2. In 3.0,
you won't be able to map to the user, however, you can still follow the same
technique, just map the username to a custom field on the contact form. Then
use Advanced Find in the CRM UI to locate each user's contacts and assign
them to the appropriate user.
