    - CRM 4.0 Mail Merge Template - do not see Addin menu I created a new Word Mail Merge template in CRM 4.0. After saving the new template record, I used Create Template in Word to create a template and saved it as .xml on my desktop. I then attached this xml file to the template record.     - Tasks assigned to other user still appear under my activities I have several hundreds of calls to make as a result of a campaign activity, I would like to make a selection of these calls and assign them to another user, when I do so, these calls still appear on my list.     - 16934 from MSCRMdeletionservice Hello all, After several years of a rock solid crm installation we have recently begun to see this error 16934 from MSCRMdeletionservice Error: Deletion Service failed to retrieve tables for deletion. in the sql logs i then get the error "login failure for crmadmin" which is the account the deletion service runs under. I've noticed that the failure occurs for whomever happens to be logged in (generally its crmadmin) Ive triple checked the permission levels and all looks well. Nothing in the installation has changed since the error started occuring. Ive been struggling with this for a few weeks and am totally out of ideas... Can anyone suggest anything?     - CRM 3.0: Report icon disappeared Hi all, I am facing a major problem: The reports' icon for most of my users disappeared! A couple other people and myself are Admins and we can still access reports OK. The other users cannot see the report icon from the Accounts form, for example. When they access Reports under My Work, they get a blank form instead of the list of all reports. The only things I remember changing since it was last working are: - Rearranging most users in business units and changing which BU was parented by which. - I published the reports using VS2003 so now they are visible from http://crm-server/reports/ I don't know whether this affected the reports icon!     - CRM 4.0 Oulook Client on citrix servers w/roaming profiles We successfully rolled out CRM 3.0 in this environment with a few registry changes for non-crm users in our org. We are now trying the same thing with 4.0 and I'm having no luck. The client installs just fine. In our dev envronment, the domain admin who installs it works great but any other user that logs in and sucessfully runs the configuration wizard, then opens Outlook receives an error stating "An error occured loading Micorsoft Dynamics CRM functionality. Try restarting Outlook. Contact your admin if error persists" If I click OK Outlook runs but without CRM. I restart Outlook and get the error it faild to start last time should I start in safe mode message. With 3.0 the instruction were sketchy, but with 4.0 they are nonexistant so I seem to be flying solo. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your support.     - Mail merge does not work with the old records from CRM 3.0 I am stucked with one of the upgrade from CRM 3.0 to CRM 4.0. When i create a new accounts , mail merge works fine but when i use existing accounts from CRM 3.0 , then mail merge doesnt not work and come with the error "Record 1 contained too many data fields .....".     - CRM4 calendar not working offline For a new CRM4 deployment we have enabled the internal CRM calendar for use within the Outlook client and Offline client instead of the usual Outlook calendar (it was enabled by editing the nav_calendar SubArea of the Sitemap to have Client="All" and AvailableOffline="true"). In the Outlook client and when online with the Offline client this works like a charm but when the client is offline the calendar comes up with a CRMException: "An unexpected error occured".     - mapping prime contact Hi. I have in the 'Contact' an attribute level {Prime, Secondary} for the contact person. I need to display the primary contact person in the lookup field on the Account entity, so the user does not have to dive into the TreeView to open the 'Contacts' in order to see the one who has the level=Prime attribute.     - Sending mails from a Quick Campaign Hello! After IÂ´ve created a Quick campaign with e-mail as an activitytype I would like to send the mail as easy as possible. The problem is that after the mail is created it appears under activity under the account. Then I have to manually go to the mail (under activity) and send it from there.     - CRM-License Problem Dear all, I have 11 users in Microsoft CRM and I have tried to create more users. After I create a user, this user become disabled. So, I select on that user - More Actions - Enable, then I have got the error message as below: There are not enough licenses available for the number of users being enabled.     - CRM 3.0 - 4.0 and SQL 2000 - SQL 2005 Hi We have an environment where we are running CRM 3.0 on SQL 2000 on the SBS version(on the same machine). We want to upgrade to CRM 4.0 but on a new machine. Can someone please advise me the series of steps that i need to follow. I am not sure where to start. My guess is that I need to migrate the database from SQL 2000 - SQL 2005 first and then install CRM but how do i migrate from SQL 2000 to SQl 2005.     - Can I select Picklist Value in View to sort by name instead of val I have a picklist new_Company in a Custom Entity. When we select the Company in the Header of the View, the sort is by int Value, not by the Label (Company Name). Is this a problem because with the Custom Entity?     - 4.0 Internet Facing Deployment Signin.aspx page targets wrong url (no I've set up an IFD and everything is working fine, except that "targeturl" parameter is missing the port number for the CRM website. When you open the CRM server external url in IE (https:// <organizationname>.<subdomain>.<domain>.com:5555/), you're redirected to this url: https://<organizationname>.<subdomain>.<domain>.com:5555/signin.aspx?targeturl=https%3a%2f%2f<organizationname>.<subdomain>.<domain>.com%2fdefault.aspx However, the correct url should be: https://<organizationname>.<subdomain>.<domain>.com:5555/signin.aspx?targeturl=https%3a%2f%2f<organizationname>.<subdomain>.<domain>.com%3a5555%2fdefault.aspx Notice that the correct url has "%3a5555" which is the port number. So after the user logs in, they are directed to https://<organizationname>.<subdomain>.<domain>.com:443 and not https://<organizationname>.<subdomain>.<domain>.com:5555 like they should be, and they get a 404, since the CRM server does not expose port 443 (another server routes all 5555 traffic to port 443 of the CRM server.) HOWEVER: if instead of using the url: "https:// <organizationname>.<subdomain>.<domain>.com:5555/" the user instead uses "https://<organizationname>.<subdomain>.<domain>.com:5555/ signin.aspx" then the user does not get the "?targeturl" appended to the address, port 5555 sticks to the url, and everything works fine. Anyone know how to fix this? How does the "targeturl" parameter get set? I'd like to avoid putting a forwarding page on port 443 of the exposed server to the appropriate signin page.     - Hide Navigation bar entry when an associated record does not exist I have the following code to hide a navigation bar entry. document.getElementById("navSubConts").style.display = "none"; This code works very well. But want I need to do is hide a navigation bar entry only if there are not records assoicated with the record I am in.     - M:M Relationships (self joins), and the names on the form Hi all, I want to create a M:M relationship between Contacts. We will be storing Patients and Doctors as Contacts, and want to create a M:M self-join between them, as a Patient can be seen by many Doctors, and Doctors can see many patients. I created the M:M, and gave it what I thought would be good names, but they show up on the Contacts Detail as both with the name "Contacts"...     - disable system entities Hi, How do I make system entites vanish from the main panel (the left TreeView)? For example, I want that marketing module will not show the "Lead" entity. When I try to customize system enetites, the check boxes that are responsible for displaying the entities in modules and myworkarea are dimmed (disabled).     - Invoicing a contract Hi, Within our organization we are now starting to use the contracts feature in CRM 3.0 However, we are experiencing some difficulties with actvitating some of our contracts. To activate a contract, you must first 'invoice' the contract. With some of our contracts this doesn't seem to be a problem at all and their status turns from 'Draft' into 'Active'. With most of our other contracts we get the following error message: --- Contracts Error The contract address is missing. You need to add an address before this contract can be invoiced. --- We can't seem to activate those contracts. When we try to fill in the Contract Address, it's not even possible to select such an address! The 'Bill To' address is filled in properly. - What address is CRM asking for? - How can we make sure that we can select such an addres from our look up field? If we compare the data that was filled in on the 'Active' contracts it doesn't seem to differ at all from the 'Draft' contracts we can't seem to activate.     - Outlook 2007 client for Vista doesn't install I am having trouble getting the Outlook 2007 client (online only) for Vista to install. During installation, the verification step says that there is a pending computer restart. I'm sure that this is not the case, since I had not installed any software or updates since last restarting. Should I perhaps restart immediately prior to installing the client? And after the installation is complete? I did neither and just started Outlook. A dialog appearing saying that there is an error loading CRM functionality and to try restarting Outlook. I did that twice and the same error occurred both times. The "Microsoft CRM" data file only contained a Deleted Items folder during this time. Then I decided to remove that data file, which worked without error. I then removed the CRM add-in from Outlook, which also worked without error. Then I added the CRM add-in again, which worked without error. Then I tried to add a data file of type "Microsoft CRM" and immediately got the following: "An unknown error occurred, error code: 0x80040102. I looked in the folder "C:\Users\{user-me}\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook" and saw no file containing anything remotely resembling the word "CRM". Shouldn't there be a CRM data file in there?     - MS Dynamics CRM 4.0 KNOWN ISSUES / BUG - Update Rollup 1? Hi all, Take 2 at this post as I mashed the keyboard on my last attempt and posted it half the way through! :) Wondering if anyone knows any timeline on Update Rollup 1. I have a few bugs in which when followed up with MS they have simply explained that it is a known issue and they will be realeasing an Update Rollup to address the bugs, mine included. They cannot provide a timeline and I have clients crucifying me over it. Some of the bugs have workarounds, but for sites with a lot of users OR for our hosted clients which are generally remote users that are geographically all over the place, means we need to do web meetings, for the ammount of users we have this will get extreemly tedious and take a LOT of time. Bugs off the top of my head: - Default view when you try to change has a star (signifing default view) against both views, the default and the newly selected one, e.g. Active Accounts and MyActive Accounts. - Synchronizing somtimes fails, if so add rule to contact data set, sync only when Birthday does not contain data. - When Assigning an Account record to a different user an error is recieved. - E-mails in your inbox may be tracked, but some users do not have "Double head" (tracked in CRM) icon. - Notes sporadically have spinning green circle (loading) stopping the ability to add notes or view created notes. - When moving your curser over activities in the Service Calender, the times in which the tool tip info displays is incorrect, e.g 1:25am to 1:55am for a Service Activity that was completed over timespan > 4:00pm and 4:30pm. - Service Calender defaults to incorrect day, date/time settings have been made on client and server but this issue and the one above both still have the problem. Thats all I can think of off the top of my head but I know there are a couple more. Question I have is do MS know about these? If so when are they going to be fixed? Is there going to be an Update Rollup of individual hotfixes to resolve these issues? Are our clients and I the only people having these errors? Are there more bugs to look out for??     - having issues Good afternoon! This is going to be a bit open ended and I am not able to provide too much in the way of information at the moment. I know, I know...I am worse than the end user who tells you that the system is broken and wants you to fix it. We have several clients who use Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0 and they are constantly complaining about the system "being slow" and the need for the MS Outlook Plugin to be reapplied. With one specific client there are some 75 users; the network is 10/100/1000 (may or may not mean anything) and the backend is MS Windows 2003 R2 with SQL 2000 SP4. I know that my collegues recently had to deploy a CRM Patch. So, with my generic description of the "problem" is there anything specific to CRM that I might check. I do not manage this client and have - outside of the Exchange 2007 installation - anything to do with this client. I just see all of the CRM 3.0-related tickets. Is this simply a matter of "troubleshooting 101" and going over the basic things? I do not have any experience with CRM 3.0 (or 4.0 for that matter). I am, however, pretty good at fixing things (just resolved a major issue that had been going on for six weeks and I have never seen the applications involved before!). We did not do the initial installation. We inheirited this client from someone else. I am simply trying to help out my colleagues as I have a better opportunity to spend some quality time with this than they do. Plus, I am considering CRM for one of my clients......     - Outlook offline reports not available I have setup most of my CRM 4 users with the Outlook client, which seems to work considerably better than that in CRM 3. However, when the clients are traveling and unable to attach to the Internet, the reports are not available. Is there any way to make the CRM reports available offline.     - Guid showing in title bar I have a problem where the guid for an account shows in the title bar after the http://servername and before the account name when the account entity is opened.     - MS CRM 4.0 query builder error - no entity Hi, I'm having a problem with the Mailmerge Template entity: I imported all customizations from one environment to another. When I want to open my mailmerge templates in the settings section i get following error: Query Builder Error No Entity I did not make any customizations to this entity, so I don't know what the problem can be.     - CRM 4.0 "An error has occurred" Hi: I did an upgrade from CRM 3.0 to CRM 4.0. First I upgrade Sql2000 to Sql2005 SP2 and then upgrade CRM. I have issue when create new case and tried to assign responsible contact. The application show â??An error has occurredâ??. This form did have a customization in java to filter the contacts to show only the contacts for the account. I removed this customization for the form, but still have the error.     - Deleting from a Queue (Email, Task etc) Hi All, At one of my sites, a user has gone and deleted a number of Email activities from a Queue. However after deletion, the activity is still displayed in the Queue and when he tries to open it, he gets an error saying that the record doesn't exist (rightly so). I've trolled through the database looking for the activity with that id, and it's not in there either... Any help would be appreciated. For email messages that are tracked in CRM from Outlook the description is
showing HTML tags and all of the DOCTYPE info instead of the actual content.
Is there anyway that we can get this to only display the actual text instead
of HTML? Beyond changing the outgoing email type to text.
