Hi All,
Wondering whether anyone can help. We are suffering from IIS6 repeatedly
hanging due to CRM. Despite using several utilities to analysing the hanging
of IIS, we are still without a clue.
Is anyone suffering from anything similar?
To negate the problem, we've schedule restarts of IIS on a 12-hourly basis.
Any help or advice would be appreciated.

We have had major problems with this at a couple of customers. The problem
is Crystal Reports - once a Crystal Report is run no new CRM sessions can be
connected, existing users maybe OK but the only cure is an iisreset

I am really surprised that others have not seen this problem a lot more

So to see if you have this problem restart IIS and then run a report and
then see if another user can access CRM. If you do have it log a support
call with MBS.

According to MBS Support there is only one other site which has this
problem!. We tracked it down to Crystal and have done lots of analysis and
logging. We have had hotfixes from MBS and BusinessObjects which have helped
considerably but it still happens regularly.

We are now talking directly with BusinessObjects support as were caught in
the farce that MBS does not support Crystal and BusinessObjects does not
support it as it is an OEM version!

We have spent a lot of time and money trying to sort this for our customer
which we have not been able to recover and this is one of the major reasons
we have switched to SQL Reporting Services.

Hello Julian

I have done a lot of work with crystal and have never seen this one before.
How much data are these reports returning when crm hangs?

Apparently many people haven't. It is an issue with Crystal 9 on W2K3/IIS6

It doesn't really matter. Most reports return just a page's worth

All, I am so happy to have found you. We have the same problem. User
generates a report, event log on CRM server has errors Crystal_pageserver /
outputfileserver / inputfileserver / cacheserver / eventserver (all separate
entries starting with Crystal_) state that they failed to regisiter with the
APS on the CRM server. Make sure APS is up and running. Restarting server is
only fix. No other errors, we run perfmon and no problems shown, server load
is minimal. I have been searching for someone with the same problem to see if
anyone knows where to look for an answer. Three months of this and we are
pulling our hair out!
