    - Primary Attribute of a New Entity I'm having some difficulties wrapping my head around the required primary attribute of a new entity. I am trying to create a software module entity that has a parental relationship with an account, and can do a lookup into the products table. In the simpliest sense, those are the only two fields that I need. However, the system is forcing me to create, use and enter a third piece of data which is the primary attribute of the entity. Is there some way that I can suppress or at least hide this additional field? Is there a purpose for this field that I am not seeing? Thoughts appreciated.     - Mapping from Account to Contact I have published the existing mappings in the customization, and even tried adding some, but I still can't get the fields such as address and phone number to auto fill-in when creating a new contact and selecting the Parent Account. I have tried doing this from the Parent Account by creating a new contact from there, and still, nothing auto fills. Is anyone else having this problem. Could something have installed improperly when I installed the software? It appears as though the default mappings in the customization show the relationship/mappings between the Account Entity and the Contact Entity.     - Product Lookup I've created a new 'Software Modules' entity, with a many-to-one Account relationship, so that I can add all the modules that a client uses under their account record. This is really great (phenominal, actually -- compared to CRM 1.2) - but now I want more! I would like to keep the module names consistant. Is there a way that I can take advantage of the products entity to create a lookup to select the modules?     - Mapping I want to have the customer information automatically fill-in from the Account Entity when I choose the Parent Account in the Customer Entity. It is not doing this. I have published the "customization" and it still isn't working. I have tried creating the contact from within the Account Entity and it still doesn't work. There is nothing I can do to get the fields to automatically fill-in. What is the procedure for this that I'm not getting from the online help. I have no problems connecting to and synchronizing with MSCRM on the server.     - A little bit of Irony I must say that I find it quite ironic that for an application that was built from the ground up to integrate, there really is no way to integrate pick list data in CRM from other systems (supported or unsupported). The way in which pick lists are maintained in CRM is so advanced that it makes it difficult (impossible?) to automate the maintenance of pick lists. Something that is fairly simple to do in legacy applications. I have a customer who is quite adamant that they do not want to have to double enter pick lists in 2 separate applications (there pick lists can be quite large) and is pretty upset that it cannot be done. I think this is something that should be addressed in a patch (don't want to wait for the next version) e.g. something like a web service or perhaps even allow the pick list to be based off an external table (provided that the column types match).     - CRM 3.0 Changes? Just noticed something that might be a big help to users in the next release or sub release. When you are on an Opportunity and adding in products the product and unit fields are not displayed in a Forms Assistant Pane for quick selection. This would be a great help and speed up the selection, without having to use the lookup tool and get another window. Thanks for your consideration.     - CRM 3.0 Bug? We just converted over from CRM 1.2 to 3.0. On the Contact form I found something interesting. So I checked the attribues etc. emailaddress1 & emailaddress3 are both format types email emailaddress2's format is text. Wa swondering why it did not format into a hyperlink. (Blue and Underlined).     - Email Template Question I am trying to modify the Case Closed Acknowledgement template and would like to know if it is possible to obtain the data from the Resolved Activity which is created when you Resolve a Case and use it in the Acknowledgement.     - Failure uploading report I upgraded from 1.2 to 3.0, I installed SQL 2000 SP4 then upgraded to CRM3.0 then upgraded SQL2005 and it seems to be working, however when I try to install a report, it fails. The error I get is as follows: Error Uploading Report an Error occurred while trying to add the report to Microsoft CRM. Try adding the report again.     - Reporting services not showing all I installed CRM 3.0 on 2 diffenrent SBS 2003 premium servers and on each one of them there seems to be a problem with the reports. When showing they many times show no data or seems to sub reports I can click and then they show some information. Some of the graphics aren't ok either. Anyone experienced anything like this.     - SQL Reporting Services not working - bad path Hello all...again... After installing on SBS SP1, when I attempt to open the report manager url: http://myserver/Reports, I get the following error: Could not find a part of the path "C:\Program Files\Microsoft CRM\CRMWeb\ReportServer\reportservice.asmx". This path does not exist.     - Connection goes down in CRM 3.0 Hi, IÂ´m having a problem with the CRM connection. It doesnÂ´t matter if iÂ´m accessing the CRM via iexplorer or via Outlook Client. It seems like it gives some sort of time out session. I ask something and then a loggin box shows up and I have to close the crm (outlook or the browser) in order to restore the connection.     - Organization Settings Error Seems like everyone is having a similar issue with CRM 3.0, no supprise then whats following... Problem: Error message to contact sysadmin when selecting either System Settings or Fiscal Year Settings. (you can access Auto Numbering) Tried: Changed expiry on server to immediately from 3 days. Rebooted both server and client, with no fix. Deleted all cached Internet files, with no fix. Can anyone help ??     - The user authentication passed to the platform is not valid. I recently had to do a rebuild of our SBS 2003 server. Since our backup was corrupt I created a new 2003 domain controller - migrated active directory to it - decommissioned my SBS 2003 box - created a new SBS 2003 Server and migrated back to it. I restored the CRM Databases (MSCRM and Metabase) and Crm worked fine after. Now 1 day later all of my users are experiencing the following error when trying to log in from any pc and any user including the administrator on the server. The user authentication passed to the platform is not valid. I performed a repair install of CRM to no affect. The weird thing is that this was working after my restore and it just stopped. The only thing I did was install a spam filter but that should have no affect on this system and it worked fine previously with it. Thanks in advance for the help.     - Connection to CRM through http - CRM web access problem CRM 3.0 client was installed for domain user in corporate network. Everything works when laptop is connected to the corporate network (in the office or through vpn). Everything means: CRM client in outlook and web access through IE. When I disconnect vpn - Web access doesn't work: it's trying to open CRM page and then "Page cannot be found" - it doesn't ask for login. If I login as a local user (not domain user), or from other laptop as a member of different domain the Web access works fine without vpn just http. What could cause this?     - CRM 3 Customization for Construction I own a small construction company and would like to customize Microsoft CRM 3 to include all information pertaining to a client in one place, including request for proposals, purchase orders, change orders, and project information by areas. Example if we were building an addition then we would choose the client from either Accounts or Contacts and then drill down from the project name (Addition) to the room names (side entrance), then all the items in that room such as baseboard, flooring, windows etc. all in grid lists, with the final screen a form that has all the details of these final items such as supplier, color size etc. So 4 levels deep.     - Birthdays I have a question concering the birthday field in Contacts. What do I have to fill in there? 1. The date of birth, for example "1982-10-21" 2. The birthday, for example "2006-10-21" When I fill in the 1982 variant, I don't get the person when I use the Advanced Search option (search for birthday's within the next 7 days or something like that).     - Entering IP Address in the Configuration Wizard At the end of the CRM Small Business Edition Configuration Wizard it prompts for the URL of the installation. If you use the IP address instead, what are the consequences? On a related issue, what does it mean when the web client repeatedly prompts for a username and password when opened on the server using the URL. It eventually fails to 401 page.     - Permissions Problems Hello All, I just setup CRM 3.0 on SBS 2K3 SP1 and I getting some security audit failures. I am a member of Enterprise Admins, Domain Admins and Administrators. I used my user account to install the CRM, with no issues, and I am a member of the Systems Administrator CRM Role. These are the following symptoms: 1) Cannot login to CRM from server at all (401 unauthorized) This is the failure entry in the security log: Event ID: 537 User: NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM Logon Failure: Reason: An error occurred during logon User Name: my.username Domain: MYDOMAIN Logon Type: 3 2) Can login from external machine, but cannot actually access any entities; when I click on "Contacts" I get an error dialog that says "An Error has occurred. Contact your systems administrator for more information". Security event log shows the following audit failure: Event ID: 537 User: NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM Computer: CRMSERVER Logon Failure: Reason: An error occurred during logon User Name: CRMSERVER Domain: MYDOMAIN Logon Type: 3 Logon Process: Ã?Ã¹Ã? Authentication Package: NTLM Workstation Name: CRMSERVER Status code: 0xC000006D 3) Finally, I cannot open the User Manager in the Deployment Manager. I can open the server manager and the License manager, but when I click on the User Manager, I get an error dialog that says: "The server http://crmserver.mydomain.com/MSCRMServices/ is not responding. This might happen if it is currently unavailable, it is not a Microsoft CRM server, or you do not have sufficient priviliges to run User Manager."     - Passing Parameters from One DataSource to the Next for CRM 3.0 I am writing a report in Reporting Services (RS) 2005 I have one Data Source extracting a values from one Database and another extracting from another Database. I need to use a value from the first dataset to use as a parameter for the next dataset. I create a report parameter and set the default value from the query. In the second data source i set the query as ="exec plcCRPricelistTesting " & Parameters!CUSTNMBR.Value & " " I am executing a sproc, I have to use queries it doesn't matter the issue is that that Parameter causes the report to fail. All works just fine when in Visual Studios but when I go to Reporting services to view the report I get this error. An error has occurred during report processing. I would like to rearrange Full Name so that the surname will appear prior to
first name (and not vice versa as is the case now).

How can one change to this behaviour?

Change the system settings. This is controlled there. It will not affect
existing records though, only new updates.
