The machine also hosts OWA, CRM, companyweb etc. We want to implement CRM Mobile but on page 17 of the CRM Mobile Implementation Guide it states that CRM Mobile does not support: Microsoft CRM installed on a server with multiple Web Sites, when the Web Sites are distinguished by host header names. After checking IIS on my server, I found the following information and just want to confirm that CRM Mobile won't work in our present environment: 5 Websites - companyweb (host header values: companweb & companyweb.<fqdn> - default website (no host header value) - Sharepoint Central Administration (no header value) - MS Sharepoint Administration (no header value) - MS CRM Version 1.2 (host header values: business-crm & business-crm.<fqdn> If the above means that CRM Mobile can't be installed on the server, what are our options?     - MS CRM - Apache Web Server co-exist??? Does anyone know if there would be problems with this? We have and application (Kronos) that runs through an apache web server to an sql database that is all on one server. We want to install CRM on that same server and still be able to use the other application. My thoughts are to bind another ip address to the NIC, publish that address in dns and bind IIS to that.     - SQL job type workflow I would like to automate some business processes that would require a sql job in typical client/server world. An example is that I would like to change a field that designates the primary address based on a date range. This process would run at midnight and it would update any account's address where today's date fits in the seasonal date range.     - Building Workflow Triggers for Multiple Opportunity Types I am implementing 3 different sales processes all of which should be triggered based on a custom field I created called OpportunityType (a picklist). Within the picklist I have approximately 6 opporunity types. I have been trying to build a rule that says the following: If OpportunityType = A,B,C Then uses Sales Process A If OpportunityType = D, E Then use Sales Process B If OpportunityType = H Then use Sales Process C Building each of the sales process is not a problem. However, building the intelligence to automate this has been a challenge. The workflow needs to be automatic without the user having to manually trigger the workflow. It appears that using subprocesses do not work because this is forcing the user to manually select the sales process (no good). Seems like a pretty simple tasks to implement but it's had its challenges. Any ideas/suggestions will are greatly appreciated.. Thanks for the help!     - Is it possible to customize the status reason on disqualified leads? Hi, After reading the CRM apps manual I was lead to believe that you can change the standard values when you disqualify a lead (lost, cannot contact, no longer interested, calceled) by doing customization. Personally I have not been able to track these values in the system. Does anyone know how to tackle this as there will be other reasons that companies may wish to select after disqualification????? With opportunities, when they are closed, Microsoft advises you to create virtual competitors as 'price too high '..etc and then use these to indicate why an opp. has been lost.     - field not showing in custom form We had a field on the new case form, and then all the sudden it was gone. When I go into the customizations the field is there in all the preview modes, but when I publish the change through the DM, it never appears. I've tried searching around in here, but I haven't found the same issue. Could be that I'm just not searching right, and the whole problem could be because I'm very new to this and am missing a step: 1. change the form through CRM, save and close. 2. go to the deployment manager on the CRM server, right click, publish customization. 3. select the accout oubject. 4. select the CRM server. 5. click finish 6. changes published, no errors. 7. restart iis.     - Cannot go offline with SFO, any suggestions? I am having such a hard time trying to figure out why I cant go offline with ANY of my SFO clients. I arrived here. I am getting the infamous "CRM Sales for Outlook Client cannot go offline. The logged on user does not have the sufficient priviledges, or the MS CRM server was not found" Can you please help. I have been working on this for 1 month now searching up and down on MS site and googling my brains out. I even purchased an online training course from MS on Installing and configuring MS CRM 1.2 (400.00 bucks). I can not go offline. here is my situation ( I will list as much as possible): 1 Server (Dell) has all the latest service packs and updates with the following: -win2k3 -> all the latest service packs. -AD 2003 -> has all necessary OUs. -SQL 2000 -> have no idea about. Set to WIN & SQL Authentication -DNS -> working correctly; verified with nslookup -CRM 1.2 -> I did NOT install this. -IIS 6.0 -> SSL running on website but not required! 1 Workstation (Dell) with the following: -winXP PRO with SP2 -office 2003 -all the updates, fixes, & patches for office, windows, SFO Here is a little something else: -Installed the OS under my admin acct (member of Domain Admins) -Made my domain acct member of local administrators -Installed SFO while logged in as my admin (domain) acct which is a SYS Admin of CRM also. -I do NOT have a UserSecInfo registry key, I think due to the fact I have not been able to go offline yet... I think this is good to put out there. -I can successfully log in and connect to the CRM server thru IE. I have viewed the Sql replication agent and I am not sure what I am looking for. My SQL skill are minimal. Here is what I have come up with: -I do see (79) & (93) articles published under the snapshot agent. -Nothing under Log reader agents. -Nothing under Queue reader agents. -nothing under distribution agents. ?????? -Nothing under merge agents. -Misc agents, I got expired subcription cleanup which succeeded. ???? other things to note. the Server network utility shows Named Pipes and TCP/IP protocols with NP listed First. not sure how to put TCP/IP first. On the client network utility - TCP/IP was first but I changed this to match the Server (not sure if it makes a difference, but I am trying anything :) ). Can you advise as if this matches if your similiar problems had the same symptoms? Something else to add. I drilled down to sql servers\server group\(local)\mgmt\sql server agent\alerts and found the following: Name ------- Replication: Agent custom shutdown Replication: Agent failure Replication: Agent retry Replication: Agent success Replication: expired subscription dropped Replication: Subscriber has failed data validation Replication: Subscriber has passed data validation Replication: Subscription reinitialized after data validation failure All the above has enabled set to "No". and each had various error numbers associated with them. Another thing is, I checked the Sql Server log and noticed the following errors over the passed several days... having problems for months tho...: error 15457 configuration option "show advanced option" changed from 1 to 1. run RECON.     - CRM 2.0 Fixes and Enhancements Will the following issues be addressed in CRM 2.0? - CRM Mail Router compatibility with an Exchange 2003 cluster. We are going to deploy a Microsoft Exchange 2003 cluster in a couple weeks and my understanding is that the crm mail router isn't compatible with a clustered Exchange environment. - The need for the GUID in the subject line. Not only does the GUID look unprofessional but we are afraid that some of our emails are being filtered by spam filtering software on the mail servers of our customers. - Duplicate email activity records. Everytime a user creates an email activity that includes the email address of another CRM user CRM creates a duplicate record. This behavior is unsatisfactory. - CRM for Outlook doesn't allow you to go offline after you have disconnected from the network. Sometimes our sales staff leave themselves online in CRM for Outlook but disconnect from the network. If this happens there should be no reason why they cannot go offline. I understand that they would not be able to syncronize with CRM if they are not connected to the network but that should still have the ability to work with their local copy of CRM even if it is out of date. - Security Role permission inheritance. When making changes to a security role often times the changes don't filter through to all of the business units which means I have to go through all of the business units to make sure the changes have filtered down and if not then I have to make the changes for those business units. This is not a huge deal but since it was designed to allow you to make at the partent business unit it should work. Well that's my rant. Does anyone else have comments on these?     - Open contract grid from Case. Hi, I need help! I would like to open a contract grid from a buttom in the menu bar of case AND that need to be filter by the account I select in Case form. I can create a buttom in isv.config and open the aspx grid contract but I dont know how to pass parameters and every contract is int he same grid. If I use passsparam=1 that will be case parameters and it does'nt work because the contract is link to an Account and not to a Case. And We dont want the contract lookup... It's really important.     - CRM Queues I have come across what is probably a fairly normal situation and can't think if I am missing something. Emails to normal users are coming in fine into CRM, but not to queues. My set up here has each user with a primary email address user@domainA.com. However, my internal domain is different and each user is also assigned a user@domainB.com address so that exchange will deliver the mails. When emails are coming into the CRM Queue users, the exchange router logs a literal soap fault on the exchange server and wont deliver the message into CRM. If this business has not been deleted, your database may be corrupted. On inspecting the CRM, The Business Unit HAS NOT been created, However, within the Active Directory, the Related BU OU has. As the problem seems intermittant (i.e. difficult to recreate ad-hoc) I can only put the problem down to ADS or CRM traffic (? - Who would this be except me). What facility is available to initiate a synchronisation of the Active Directory to the CRM and/or what is the recommended procedure here for this, If no CRM BU exists, will it be sufficient to delete the OU created in ADS and re-try ?? As the ADS has a busy life within the Co. I would rather not be attempting restore of the ADS to a Pre-CRM Implementation. Incidentally, Whilst Backup of the ADS is obviously important, All of the Emphasis within the CRM Training Materials seems to be on the CRM & SQL backup & restore, there is no reference to the relative importance of the CRM OU's within the ADS. I note from previous news messages that John O'Donnell mentioned a sync tool was available from Mbs, but failed to find any follow up of where.     - CRM Queries Hi, I have a few queries that one of our customers has put to us. Can someone let me know their thoughts. Our customer wants to know whether it is possible to have something where within CRM you can view others users calendars? They would like to view it like you would in MS Outlook, the customer is going to be using the CRM Browser Client not Outlook for Sales. Also, within MS CRM I arn't sure whether this is a fault but I have managed to create 2 identical accounts, same name, contact numbers and account number.     - SQL Maintenace Plan OK, I have combed this newsgroup, and I am more confused than when I started. I went into SQL and used the wizard to create a maintenance plan. I checked the backup files a few days later and I have 14GB (!) of files and transaction logs from three days of backups. When I try to sing in Microsoft CRM web client this error occurs:
Extern error: object does'nt exist in the server, check that the object
exist in the database and also in the active directory.

I think this happen after I installed the service pack 2.

If anyone knows how I resolve this problem, and can help me - that would be
great!
