    - CRM tasks synchronization Can a CRM user create tasks in CRM for someone else and have it synchronize into Outlook for that other person? All Windows Server 2003. The default website on the CRM site has always been stopped and the CRM site has a host header, the CRMReports folder is inside the CRM website. No SSL enabled on the CRM site.     - There is a problem communicating with the Microsoft CRM Server Hello ALL, I have a problem with my CRM Client for Outlook. The CRM Server 3.0 is on a Windows 2003. Wenn I add in IIS 6.0 the server name (FQDN and NETBIOS NAME) as a multiple identities and remove the default web site i can access to server with the CRM Outlook client but I cannot access anymore with the CRM Web Client. And wenn I remove the server name (FQDN and NETBIOS NAME) and put back the default web site the Web client is working but not the CRM client for Outlook.     - Newbie Dumb Question re Quotes/invoices Hi, i am very new to CRM, and I have it running and working on my network. Anyway, my question is in relation to using it. I have successfully setup my products, price list, contacts, accounts, etc. I then proceeded to run through a test process from start to finish. I created my lead, then made it an opertunity, then i created a quote, added my products, etc. Now heres the part where i'm confused. Once i have created and made avtive my quote, i want to print a copy off to give to my customer. When i try to print the quote, i get a basic dump of the info on my screen, no nice presentable quotation. So my question is how do i go about doing this? It is probaly a really dumb question, but i am a systems admin, not a customer relations manager, or sales person, i just need to get it all working for my boss.     - What "views" I've create some reports for our various needs, and have been fairly successfull doing so (e.g. writing the query, joining needed views, getting the rdl up and going, etc.) I'm attempting to create a stored precudure (first just a T-SQL query) that I will use to create a customer quote.     - Cancelling expired contracts There appears to be no way of distinguishing contracts with have expired and we know that they will not be renewed and contracts which have expired but we may still be belatedly planning to renew. Is there anyway to change the status of an expired contract to cancelled? Is the only option to delete the contract? We don't like this as we lose the history.     - My CRM menu item in the Outlook add-in has disappeared Very annoying. I can't find the Menu item for CRM from the Menu bar in Outlook. I've looked everywhere, especially in "customize toolbars". The Outlook add-in is still working, and the CRM toolbar is there, but without the menu item I can't do things like synchronise and set local data. We currently use a combination of CRM roles and c360 for field level security to limit users access to the data that impacts their job or duties. However, when using the CRM Outlook client, c360 does not carry over offline. This leaves data open to users when they are offline. These offline users can modify any data they wish (depending on their role). These updates are then synched when they go online. I have some basic mail merge questions that I'm hoping someone can help with.     - A simple Question This may seem very basic but I am going to ask the question anyway :) I have CRTM setup and working on sbs2003 and runs fine and we are slowly learning lots about it. I have no problem creating leads, accounts, contacts etc etc However I receive a large amount of emails which I want to create as leads. I can do this but it seems a long way round the way we do it as we have to fill in the details from that email. Is there a simple way of once the email is received simply clicking somewhere in outlook 2007 or anywhere else that simply creates the email immediateley as a lead with the information from that email .     - Missing Settings TAB Hi, bit frustrating I have set up MS CRM PRofessional in the prescribed manner. When I open outlook there is no settings option in hte navigation pane.     - Adding entities to Orders Hi, I'm having a little problem adding any sort of entity or value to an entity in our MS CRM V3 installation. We have a custom picklist entity that currently has 198 seperate values in, and i am trying to add the 199th. I can put the value name in and press ok, and see it in the list of values but when i try to save this, i just get the generic "an error has occured, for more information contact your system administrator". I get this error if i am adding an Order entity, or a value to an already created entity.     - deleting emails in cases If an email is in draft, you cannot close a case. If I give the users access to delete the draft emails in a case, they can delete any email. If an email has been sent, we need to retain it. What can I do to allow the service techs to delete a draft email, but not one that needs to be maintained for historical purposes? I don't want them to have to send an email to themselves to close the email activity and close the case, nor does it make sense in our environment to reassign emails to one person with permission to delete.     - MSCRM and coding experience Hello All you gurus out there I have had a brief search to find an answer to this however, I think it will be quicker if I just ask the question... I have just joined a company that has MSCRM installed. It is my job to "make it work". I have no coding experience to speak of (and that means 'nil') and some of the concepts in MS CRM seem back to front. Which probably means they are right and I'm just ignorant. Example: 1. we installed the vanilla sales process and activated it 2. I can see it - but not for all opportunities (what the...!) 3. other staff can't see it at all 4. this makes no sense to me - If I install it and activate it, it should be available company wide - shouldn't it? It now makes me think that, at almost every point, I'm going to have to re-trace my steps to make this work and that is going to take far too much time. So, with this specific example of a dilemma in mind the question is this: Can I effectively customise, set up automated processes and basically make it sing without any coding experience?     - CRM Office Attachments Stripped by Firebox I've a Watchguard Firebox X500 that has started stripping attachments to CRM 3 mail. The message I get rather than the attachment ia as follows: [Attachment denied by WatchGuard SMTP proxy (type "vnd.ms-excel/application", filename "My Sheet.xls")] What appears to be happening is that CRM is setting the "Type" back to front.     - Error: Unsupported XML Parser Version - Terminal Server Users We have CRM installed on an SBS 2003 Server. We can access CRM via the web interface from all the PC's in our network. However when we try to access CRM via the web interface on our Terminal Server we get an error stating we need to install Microsoft XML 4.0 SP2 or later. This does not happen for users who members of the domain admins group who use the Terminal Server.     - Found the solution ... I have been experiencing the crashes sometime repeatedly behind one another. It turns out that Microsoft has posted an article on this issue ... Refer to: KB Article Number(s): 931270 Language: English Platform: i386 The crash has to do with a Outlook 2003 security patch which is conflicting with CRM 3.0. The article had me call Microsoft to obtain the hotfix which has not been regression tested. I loaded the patch (one for the server side and for the client side), and so far so good. They have fixed some other issues in addition: 'Work Place' and our internal knowledge base articles were not available via Outlook. They are now all working. Hope this helps.
