    - Configuration of Microsoft Outlook Client 4.0 Hi every one, I have installed Microsoft CRM outlook Client 4.0 but unable to Configure it. I am confused as to what to specify for Intranet and External Web Address because it gives me the error " Unable to connect to the remote server " So i would like to know what are the steps to performed after installing the Client and before Configuring the Client and what to fill in the Address of Intranet and Web Address.     - Outlook client not loading Some (but not all) of the Desk Top clients hang when they try to load the CRM Plugin. The process of loading the plug in gets as far as "Propagating Lanuguage" and then it hangs. We have tried to run the diagnostics tool but it fails to run.     - Sending CRM email when outlook has multiple accounts Here is my setup: I have an outlook user (2003) with an exchange (also 2003) account and a pop3 account in their profile. The exchange account is the default account. CRM (ver 4) is set to use outlook as the sender. When email is sent from the CRM web interface it goes out over the exchange account, I need it to go over the POP3 account. If I try this with just the POP3 account it works with out problems, do I have to change the default account to the POP3 account? Is there a work around to tell the CRM which outlook account to use?     - crm outlook client cant go back online I have one outlook client from a CRM 3 to CRM 4 upgrade that was successfully upgraded. The client is an offline client and configured for syncing. The installation and configuration of the outlook client was successful, however, when i went offline for the first time, I could not go back online, and havent been able to get back online since. I get an error message that reads: The Microsoft CRM command bar could not be loaded into Microsoft Outlook. Restart Microsoft Outlook and try again. HR=0x800a01a8. Context=. Function=CAddin::HrInitializeUI. Line=142. For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp. When i restart Outlook i get the same behavior.     - In Account Overview report, increase display of Contacts from 10 to Hi all, I am making a custom version of the Account Overview report and, among other changes, increasing the number of Contacts displayed from 10 to 20. This is the code that I found that does it: "=IIF(Fields!fullname.Value = "(Limited to 10 contacts) - - ",ReportItems!txtlimited10con.Value,Fields!fullname.Value)" Can anyone please tell me how to change it to do what I want? If I change the 10s to 20s and I build I get this error message: "The value expression for the textbox 'txtAddcontacts' refers to the report item 'txtlimited20con'. Report item expressions can only refer to other report items within the same grouping scope or a containing grouping scope." I couldn't find much help for ReportItems. What I understand is, supposedly, there is a report item out there of type textbox called "txtlimited10con" that has a value of 10.     - Outlook Client for MSCRM 4.0 with Multi-tenancy We are experiencing an interesting issue when setting up multiple organizations in MS CRM 4.0 with the Outlook Client. If you are in the <default> instance everything is fine, BUT if you are in another organization you can not setup the outlook client. The only way that we have found to accomplish this is to have the user in the <default> organization and the disable them and have them in their organization then everything works. We have a user that is having a problem with going offline with CRM 3.0 running with Office 2007 Pro, on XP Pro. I just installed this yesterday for him while he was in the office, and he was able to go online, and offline with no problems, multiple times. Now he is home, and cannot go offline, while working through the VPN? he is able to use CRM through the Outlook Client, but when he clicks the "go offline" button, he get the "an unknown error has occurred. retry the action" error.     - Duplicate Detection Quiting too soon Greetings, and thank you in advance for considering this: In my CRM 4.0 system, when I run the tool duplicate detection for the entity Leads from the toolbar within the [Sales] Leads list screen, the duplicate detection process runs successfully, but only gives me up to 12 matches before it stops. Once I match up those duplicates, I can run the duplicate detection tool again and get 10 to 12 more duplicates before it successfully quits. This can go on and on. I'd really like to troubleshoot what is causing the detection algorithm to quit early instead of processing the whole list of 9400+ rows.     - CRM 4: Plugin does not fire from an Appointment I have created a simple test Plugin which simply writes the calling entity name to a text file. I am using the Plugin Registration Tool 2 and have registered the Plugin Step as: Create; Appointment; Post Stage; Synchronous; Server; Parent Pipeline The Plugin does not fire!!!!     - OWA Drafts Issue Hi all, we have Exchange 2007 now and I have found that if someone leaves Outlook open with the CRM client then any messages sent via OWA/Activesync will remian in the drafts. If you close Outlook they stay there and have to be manually resent. It seems people on the msexchange.org forums have seen this too but I don't think anyone has posted here.... Any solutions? I have configured user setting to send out the email using email router. The email router has been configured properly. But, it seems that it takes forever to get the email sent out. When the email activity is opened, there's a message: "This message has not yet been submitted for delivery". But, when I restart the CRM Email Router (Windows Service), the email is sent immediately, and subsequently, the message in email activity dissapear.     - CRM 4.0: Adding New User Issue Hi All, I just added new user to CRM 4.0, and assign specific role (Customer Service Representatives) and default business unit to the user. However, when the user tried to login, there's error message mention something like the user doesn't have permission to view record. The assigned role and business unit is the same with existing other user that is able to login without problem. Then, we try to assign new role (CSR Manager) to the user, and after that, the user is able to login. So, we assume that something wrong with Customer Service Representatives (CSR), although other CSR able to login. But, then, we remove CSR Manager from the same user, and the user is still able to login. Does someone have any idea to overcome this problem? It's not the first time we experience this issue.     - Workflow 4.0 Take a contact and create it into another account I'm asking this question a different way as I think workflow in 4.0 could do this. Scenario: When a contact is created or updated for an Account that is a "Vendor" with type "1" then I want to create the same contact for all Accounts that are "Customers" that are also type "1". Please note I need to be able to scan through all accounts (We only have 60) and add a the contact to those who are of type "1". This does not have to happen real time but near real time.     - Error displayed when clicking on the Preview Report Arrow icon When trying to preview a report on the Main Reports View (Available Reports) by clicking on the Arrow icon to the left of the Report name, the application displays the "Reports cannot be run because the Connector for Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Server, etc..." error. This is misleading, since the report preview works just fine if: - The end user double-clicks on the Report Name. - The end user right-clicks on the arrow icon and selects "Open". - The end user right-clicks on the arrow icon, selects "Copy Shortcut", and pastes the shortcut on a new IE window.     - Blank Message Template Received as Attachment Hello- We have been experiencing an issue which *only* effects MS CRM users. When a message is forwarded to a CRM user from a mobile phone (using MS Activesync) or various webmail clients (Yahoo Mail, Hotmail, AOL) - the user receives a message with a 64B mail attachment which opens as an email template (unaddressed, untitled, no body) - instead of the actual message. If the phone/webmail user either forwards the message inline or replies to the message and includes the crm recipient, the recipient will receive the message without issue. This only happens to CRM users, non-crm users are not effected by the issue. We are currently using: MS CRM 3.0 Exchange 2003 Outlook 2003 MS Mobile 5.0/6.0 I have been looking at this issue for months, have seen others with the issue but have never seen a solution. I have heard it has to do with the CRM Exchange Router Service and/or a CRM related Event Sink on the Exchange Server, but none of the solutions posed ever worked for me. I guess this i related to the fact that CRM 4.0 alters the connectionstring in the reports to point to the dataconnector on the SSRS-computer. Is there any way to make these reports work? Having completed the laborious task of installing CRM 4 onto a virgin SBS install with SQL 2005, I find that I am still unable to login to http://server2:5555 using IE IIS is working: http://server2 provides the default website as expected http://server2/reportserver provides the report server ok too. http://server2:5555 , and I have also tried http://server2.test.local:5555 with the same results... When run from the DC's Internet Explorer: "Access is denied. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80070005 (E_ACCESSDENIED)) " When run from a Vista's Internet Explorer: "Server Error in '/' Application. Runtime Error" Attempting to login with the credentials (these accounts do exist in AD) : test\administrator administrator@test.local test\user user@test.local passwords have been reset for these accounts, so i feel passwords may not be the problem. All services are running on the same machine, a DC, the vista client is using IE7 and is a member of the domain. As stated IIS is installed as default with CRM creating a new website, the application pools are all using "Network service" as their Identitiy. Part of the problem is that there is soooo much documentation for planning and such its difficult to find any specific information... could somebody direct me on how to proceed with throubleshooting this problem. It appears in my new test environment that I still cannot relate the customeraddress entity to anything (other than what comes by default)!     - CRM 3.0 to 4.0 and Business Manangem "Sites" setup Upgraded Small Business Server 3.0 CRM 4.0 Workgroup edition for testing purposes. Everything is working correctly except that any item that has a "Site" field on it. (such as Service Activity) will not allow me to add a "site" from my upgraded 3.0 data. (I have two "sites "defined" in "Settings" - "Business Manangement" - Sites. So if I try to add a service activity and select a site I get a "Access Is Denied You do not have enough privileges to access the Microsoft Dynamics CRM object or perform the requested operation. For more information, contact your Microsoft Dynamics CRM administrator. " I can save the Service activity if I leave off that field. Since I am setup as an administrator in CRM 4.0 I dont understand why I am getting this error message. Also if I go to "Settings - Business Manangement - Sites" and try to edit any of these sites, I get the same error message. However, If i try to ADD a new site I am able to do so, and I can also delete the new site that I just added. I just cant seem to access any of the "upgraded" sites, or I cannot specify any site for my Service Activity. I also have some items that I have stuck in my "My Work - in progress" that I some how mananged to get added which I cannot access because of this error.... I know its while I was trying to figure out the problem because the subjects are all titled "test" and that is what I was using when I was getting this error, but now I cant delete them because I get an error "The requested record was not found or you do not have permission to access it." Any idea how I can "fix" this irritation. I have to believe that for whatever reason, no users are defined in the site and because of this I cannot access anything related to the site. If I can get access to the "site" entity then I believe I can just add my user (which is an adminstrator) and hopefully this would solve the problems with me not being able to access "site" data. Is it possible to build report, that gathers data from multiple CRM
organizations within one Enterprise server? If so, how many licenses/user is
needed?

If you are creating a report using SQL Reporting Services I can see no reason
why you could not connect to the 3 database and get data from each. Not sure
how you would know which records are for the same clients accross the 3
databases, but maybe some account number might help you.

In terms of licences, and user CAL gives that user right to access CRM
server. It does not matter how many organizations they connect to.

You can do this - however at present, it is a custom deal (I am aware of
several third party utilities 'in production' that will give the 'big
picture' you're wanting) currently. Just write an SRS report (or similar)
that hits all the orgs directly.

Licensing is 'probably' sufficient with a standard user CAL provided,
however check with MSFT to be sure...(don't think external connector is
required in this case),
