I'm new to CRM and have two issues I can't seem to solve.

1. Email activity exists in My Work -> EMail. These messages came from
external customers. What do I have to do to make these go away from this
view?

2. Can the Activities list and Activities History list be customized? I
simply would like to see them sorted by date rec'd (desc) but the Activities
screen does not seem to be available under customizations.

Thank you in advance to any/all who answer.

Hi,

1. Have you tried closing the email activities?

2. You cannot edit the activity views in the CRM system using supported
customizations. You can do this with a non supported customization. In
internet explorer open the following url:
http://<crmserver>/tools/viewEditor/viewManager.aspx?id={00000000-0000-0000-00AA-000010001899}
where <crmserver> is your own server. You can customize the view there. More
GUIDs can be found in the SavedQueryBase table in the _MSCRM database.

Hi Rob:

Re 1. To my understanding, email activities are always "closed". There is
no "Close" action on the "Actions" menu.

Ok I saw that in your start post already...

I believe this queue just functions as an inbox for email. We developed a
callout that would remove these emails from the queue when a user adds a
regarding account to it. So it is possible to create this using a callout,
but I don't know of any methods in the application.

Rob,

I had the same issue as Tim in regards to customising the Activities view.
I have followed your example and changed the view, published changes in
Deployment Manager and performed an IIS reset, yet the view has not updated.

Could you please point me in the right direction re making the updated view
visible to all users?

Thanks,

Zoonk

Hi,

You should not have to publish anything actually. Views will be changed
directly after saving them. When you publish you'll also have no options to
publish anything of the activity for that matter.

So it should work just after you made changes to the view. Are you sure you
saved the view and edited the correct one?

Zoonk:
I did use Rob's suggestion and it did work. However, I found that there
were many views that had to change. Per Rob's suggestion, look at the
SavedQueryBase table and update all views that have to do with Activities and
you should be OK.
