Its only been 2 weeks since we let our users run wild with the Email
functionality of CRM. And already we have 2 customers that have rejected all
CRM Email as spam.

I don't think there is much I can do....................but I just wanted to
say that this system has once again disappointed us...

Call me crazy but I believe email functionality/integration with a CRM is a
key feature (if not the very driving force for some CRM systems/policies).

This is right up there with the "promote to email" function that destroys
all formatting of an email, making it next to useless (unless you want your
eyes strained, and complaints coming from all sides of the equation).

*sigh*

We backed out of our deployment for the same reasons (among a few others).

Gary,

Did your email that got rejected as spam have the "CRM:"
tag line on it, or did you install the patch to remove it?

Thanks,

Dave

Yes, that is the whole point.

If you remove the GUID from the subject line then you lose ALL email
tracking capabilities, and thus makes a SIGNIFICANT core of "crm" useless.

So if you run the patch (which only allows deactivation of tracking, nothing
more nothing less), the only way to get an email into CRM is to continually
promote everything which in itself is a horrible process........

You can get that patch via Customer Source,......if you don't have access to
that, contact your vendor/Partner.

But don't assume this patch "fixes" anything. It doesn't. The ONLY thing
this patch does is allow you to turn off CRM email tracking, ie remove that
ugly GUID from the subject line. If you do this you can no longer use email
tracking.

If you installed the patch there are two ways to get info
into CRM
1. use the Promote to CRM Activity feature in Sales for
Outlook client - the downside here is that you have to do
this e-mail by e-mail
2. choose to accept all e-mail messages as CRM activities
(setting within the web app) - the downside here is that
you are going to get e-mail not related to CRM but you
can delete them
