    - CRM 1.2 Licensing questions Hi all, We are a Microsoft Certified Partner, so my understanding is that we get a fiver user license of CRM. But which exact version of CRM is it. The suite ? Standard or Professional ? Also, do I use the keys that I get on the MSDN download page, or should I follow the instructions on the sheet that I got from MS about registering my copy.     - Front End Back End Question Hello All, We are currently using a Goldmine/Quickbooks setup with the GM Link to QB. We are looking seriously at MS CRM Sales Pro as a front end but feel that Great Plains is a bit of overkill for the back end. Is there anyway to get CRM Sales Pro to be on speaking terms with QB Pro 2004 so that we can link invoices, pos and estimates to contact records?     - Error 1053. I have CRM 1.0 installed and was working for some time now until I installed CRM for outlook on the same server to be used for Terminal Services Clients. I understand that it is not supported and now cannot start the Microsoft CRM Security Service. I uninstalled the CRM for outlook but same results.     - Save you changes Found an annoying bug in the KB Manager. Often when adding new KB articles, once the article is published, I still get a dialog box asking me if I want to save my changes. There is no way to edit or save a published article (except to unpublish it first). Even after I unpublish and repeatedly save the article I continue to get this dialog box asking me "Are you sure you want to navigate away from this page?"     - View more than 100 records at a time? Hello, is there any way to view more than 100 records at time? If we want to apply an action to a few thousand people, is there any way to do so all at once, instead of having to do the action to the first 100, then the second page of 100, then the third and so on? You can email to all records on all pages through the CRM, however, this feature is not available through the Sales for Outlook Client. We must use the Outlook Client as we do other mail merges (paper letters, envelopes, labels, as well as emails) on a regular basis. But the process is quite cumbersome! Any help?     - Mail Merge from Sales for Outlook Client Hello, I am trying to perform a mail merge with the Sales for Outlook Client. It works well for email merging, and records an activity in the associated records. However, when merging any other type of document, an activity is recorded with the title "Word Mail Merge". I would like a more descriptive activity subject to appear, "2004 conference follow up" for example, or whatever I specify.     - Using Windows Service and CRM Happy Holidays, All! This isn't covered in the SDK, that I can see, but we have a service running that needs to query the CRM database (using the SDK) - but it is running on an application server out side of CRM. We can do this with impersonation, using an existing user in CRM - but the password needs to be hardcoded that way - making it necessary to revisit the applicatin every 90 days...     - CRM Email I have successfully installed the email router, and i was able to send emails from crm and successfully receive them (both to company domain and outside clients). I have noticed though: 1. when i send email activity to CRM users (CRMEmailEnabled attribute assigned), they do not receive this in their queue - actually the application should generate another activity appending CRMxxxx to the subject line which doesn't happen in this case 2. Internal mails (company domain) We can not send emails to CRM. I have followed the steps in the guide, created a queue...everything and i am still unable to get it. can anyone help me please? should i uninstall the router and install it again?     - 'Can't Create Database' Error Message. Trying to Install CRM 1.2 in a test environment using one 2003 server with sql 2000 sp3 installed. (just one server - no seperate SQL box) All prereq's are installed. i enter all the details and select the sql box i want to install to and get to the point were CRM is ready to install, i click 'Next' and after 3 seconds i get the error box 'Can't create database installation failed.' here is an extract from the install log file. [16:11:34] ===========>Database Creation Step [16:11:34] Setup was unable to create the Microsoft CRM databases. [16:11:36] ===========> Microsoft CRM Server setup completed: 12/29/2003 16:11:36 : 0x80004005 i have tried creating a new user 'CRMinstall' which is a domain admin and has database create permissions on SQL but i still get the same error. the only other thing i can say is that im using the UK locale. also this one box was built fresh for this install.     - Help!, Adding Custom Forms in CRM HI Mike, I guess, you have very good exposure to the forms customization in CRM. Could u please help me with this issue. I have a list of products in a seperate database outside CRM. The quantity on hand field in that database is real. Now what I really need is to have a button or toolbar item on the OrderProducts form to Check for availability of the product. I do have the product GUID in the external table. I will have get the currently selected product's guid from orderproduct screen and pass this to a custom aspx page. This custom aspx page will find the available qty and show that information to the user. I tried to add a custom toolbar button to orderproduct child form. But CRM Customization allows only buttons to the SalesOrder form, not to the child form. so the questions are: 1. how to get the value of any field in the active crm form and pass this to a new custom aspx. (the objecttype and objectcode are passed by default, but how to pass other fields) 2. Now we tried to integrate it into our exchange environment using the outlook client. Online is working fine but the offline functionality isn't working. Obviously the local msde- database is not getting any data. The error message is: "Metadata-Cache error, No entity!"     - CRM Sales for Outlook 1.2 connection problem. I successfully installed CRM Sales for Outlook 1.2 on my laptop with Office 2003. I can connect to the database and see the contact and lead names in the Outlook browser window but when I try to open up a record, I receive an error stating "An error has occurred.     - CRM site won't 'start' after install Hi, I've installed MS CRM Server 1.2 on a machine running Windows Server 2003, with IIS (MSMQ, DTC etc.), MS SQL Server 2000 SP3 and all other pre-requisites. The installation program runs through as it should an I get a message saying CRM Server was successfully installed. However, when I browse to http://localhost or http://machine_name I get an HTTP 403 error saying 'You are not authorized to view this page'. I have followed the instructions in the Implementation Guide, and the next step for me would be to install the CRM e-mail router on the Exchange server. When I try this and point the installation program to the CRM machine I'm told the server is not a CRM server. I have not completed the steps regarding configuring users and queues and have not added users to MS CRM, as these steps according to the Implementation Guide come AFTER installing the e-mail router. On the CRM Server machine I had Windows SharePoint Services and SharePoint Portal Server installed before installing MS CRM. The SharePoint sites still work properly.     - Cannot create users I just recently installed SBS2003. I have had CRM since the end of novemeber and was going to install it on this new server once it was built. Everything installed fine until I went to create a user. I am logged on as administrator and I try to access the site to create user. I get am error trying to open the site in order to add a license to the user. I cant even go trough the deployment manager to add a user because it tells me I do not have sufficient privileges. Has anybody run into this problem and had found a work around? Just for technical purposes I am running SBS2003 on a clean install and CRM 1.0. I do realize that CRM 1.0 is not meant for 2003 and that 1.2 should correct any errors. But i dont think I will be receiving my copy of 1.2 until February. Does anyone have any suggestions?     - Problem since upgrading to CRM 1.2 Ever since we upgrade to CRM 1.2 we can no longer create new leads, contacts, accounts, etc. When you try it opens the new window to add in but nothing appears except a message saying that an Error has occured and either Try Again or Close.
