Hi Nitin, currently CRM v3.0 does not provide out-of-the-box functionality
for duplicate detection.

Buy a third-party add-on such as c360.com's Duplicate Detection

Thanks Manisha !!

However this need is very much felt by Users handling Accounts and they are
restricted to see others' records. In this scenario , if one User opens new
Account which was already opened by another User, this information should
come from the system.

Regards,

Nitin

I agree that duplicate detection is a much-needed feature, in the
scenario that Nitin I described as well as when Accounts/Contacts are
imported.

re: duplicate records--how to detect and resolve

Have a look at the (new) product demo for our Microsoft CRM add-on; the
data cleansing product has automated duplicate detection & resolution as
well as address hygiene (for 220 countries)

Here's the link to the flash demo:

Microsoft have gone some way to get aorund this problem by giving us merge
capabilities. However at least for V3 you may want to consider using tools
from scribesoft which will do duplicate checking for you. Another route
would be to create your own custom code. I think there is an example on msdn
which will help find duplicates

Don't known about you, but I've justo lost an MS-CRM opportunity to SAP Sales
Express, becouse of this 'data cleansing out of the box' issue.

I realy hope this doesn't takes too long.

Luis:

Let me know if we can help you save the sale - this duplicate
resolution/address cleansing add-on solution is tightly integrated in to
MS-CRM - here is the link to the demo
