Hi,

We accidently deleted the Domain controller for our CRM production. As a
result, i cannot start the microsoft security services and the CRM system is
not running at all. Since the failure is in the DC, Is there a way that the
OU, User and roles defined in CRM can be exported into new DC? Or are there
any better solution than this one?

Thanks
Carrie

Wow, removing a DC by mistake. ouch!!!!

Well is there a backup of the systemstate?

Is this the only DC on the forest?

Did the DC have the Global Catalog role.

Or is the DC still there.

If this is the only DC but you have a backup you can resotre the systemstate
and get the AD back.

If you have lots an object and you believe the object is still on
"Tombstoned" then I would use Mark Russianivich's DSRestore from
Sysinternals.com

This will allow you to restore deleted objects back to the AD.

IF the DC was the FSMO and you have another in the forest, you will have to
sieze the Roles of the former DC.

Lots of work. I know.

Hi Curt,

There is no backup of systemstate since the DC is being reinstalled
accidently. However, we still have the DB. As i know, on DC there would be
info regarding the domain admin who installed the CRM and also OU along with
security roles etc. If those info are missing, eventhough i still have my DB,
could i still use the old DB and reimplemented in new DC??

Thx,
Carrie
