Hi,

Can anybody tell me if I need a server - exchange, SQL or a "CRM server" to
run MS CRM? Does it work with a outlook client alone etc?

/Regards

errrr......no, thats what Microsoft Contact Manager for Outlook is for I
blieve, its certainly standalone-runable but not sure if comparable in any
shape or form to CRM.

CRM server standalone .....as i said no, but it will run "offline" if you
will, with SFO Client. Obviously with intent to go back online, not run
continuously seperate from the network...........

Then again, I/we run it as a server and client completely"standalone" with
VPC image, on one server (and identically on one performance laptop with
same images) as a partner of MS - but thats an expensive way for an end user
to run it what with the high performance requirement and software
requirements for the purposes of just one users needs!!!.

You need a web server for the crm web server. A SQL server for the CRM
database. You only need Exchange server if you want to send and receive
email into CRM. Note that you cannot use any other mail server other than
Exchange.

Beyond that you also need to be on an Active Directory enabled network.
