    - Tracking CRM 3.0 Campaign Responses I am trying to create, distribute, and track all campaign responses from MS CRM 3.0. I have successfully accomplished the following steps 1. Create Marketing List 2. Create Marketing Campaign 3. Attach the marketing list to the marketing campaign 4. Create a new campaign activity. The activity that I have created is "E-mail via mail merge". 5. I have then distributed the email (via mail merge). 6. I have received a response from the campaign with a CRM tracking token from the campaign. 7. I have clicked the 'Track in CRM' button to promote the e-mail. In the regarding field, the name of the campaign activity then appears. In this case, it is the name of the email that was sent to all marketing list contacts. However, after I have promoted it the e-mail, it is still not tracked as a 'campaign response' under the marketing campaign, even though on the server settings I have E-mail tracking turned ON and 'Create campaign responses for incoming e-mail' turned ON. No campaign responses are tracked anywhere. The only place the e-mail is tracked is in the 'history' section of each individual contact.     - Where is Address Contact? On the "information" tab in an account, there is an address at the bottom of that window. Where is the "address contact" for that address? In the "More Addresses" screen, there is an address contact field, but I don't see that field on the "information tab" address.     - CRM 3.0 Units vs Teams vs Territories Which to Use We recently certified on CRM 3.0 and now have a major debate going on as to what should be defined as a Business Unit, Territory or Team or even Site. For example, we have two offices: east (also Head Office) and west. We have a large sales group in the East office and groups of service staff: consulting, professional, technical, infrastructure, training as wel as Coporate (Finance,HR, Admin). We are a major IT Reseller and service provider. It has been suggested that teams should be more temporary or smaller sections of units. Any advice on what should be a business unit: just our offices or are these territories or should we make each group: Sales (with their territory - east, west), Professional Services, Consulting Services, etc. as a Business Unit or are these teams.     - CRM3 Enable Merge feature in Custom Entities In CRM 3.0 is it possible to create the necessary system relationship in custom entities so that the merge feature is available to them? I see that for system entities like Contacts there is a many-to-one relationship back to Contacts, schema masterid, used for the Merge functionality.     - Going off line. Is becoming a major problem. The most common error: "An unknow error has occured. Retry the acton. If the problem Persist....." The second.     - Workflow Email - Controlling the FROM email address I have a workflow created (v3) that sends an email at a certain date. CRM sends the email from the entity owner. I would like the email to be from a more generic email address (ie generalsupport@xxx.com). Is there a way to do this? It could be a constant for every email in the worklfow.     - Outlook Client Inbox folders I have installed several CRM 3.0 outlook clients (desktop) without an issue. They all were installed fresh and were not upgrades from 1.2. The exsisting email was an exchange account. When the client installed, it created a new folder tree called Microsoft CRM. The only folders below it were specific to CRM as I would expect. Now I go to install an outlook laptop client. The email account is a pop3 account. On when I install the client, it again adds a new folder tree called Microsoft CRM, but this time, it also includes mail account type folders (i.e. inbox, outbox, sent items, drafts, etc.) underneath it. Is this expected? Directing email to one or the other folder tree is easy, but my users will be very confused. I guess I need a little help knowing what the best practice is??? But, here come the big BUT. When you have an activity like email, that you have in To: ContactA and in Regarding: AccountA (of ContactA) , then this Rollup fails, with a primary key violation on the temporary table. I suppose that when you Rollup Activities for the Account, the same activity regards the ContactA and the AccountA. Any Suggestions ? Any HotFix ? Or should I fix it the hard way (dig in the DB)? I can generate a report showing closed cases and the time spent, but I need to exclude them from future reports so the time isn't billed twiced.     - Japanese Version of MSCRM Hi folks, I have a few questions regarding MSCRM3.0 for a client in Japan: 1. I have heard that the the Japanese version of MSCRM3.0 will be released in Japan in September 2007. It has already been released in the US. Is there a way a partner can buy it from the US for a client in Japan? 2. My second question is: On the same screen, the user needs to input data in English script on one field and Japanese script on another field? 3. My client's database is Oracle. Since Microsoft does not support Oracle, I can convince them to migrate to MS SQL Server. How should I go about this one time or miltiple migrations from Oracle to MS SQL Server? 4. Does MSCRM3.0 support Double byte data? (since they will be using the Japanese version) What are the pitfalls of this? In my opinion since everything is NVARCHAR, the database should be able to support double-byte characters. Has anyone encountered any issues with the same? Would appreciate your response.     - Hosted CRM 3.0 Setup on All-In-One Server Hey Guys, I get the following error when attempting to install CRM 3.0 on an All-In-One server. This is in the "Hosted CRM deployment guide" on page 28 "Run CRM Stage 1 Setup". I removed the preinstall switch since this seemed to cause another error -2 and it goes further but still bombs out with the error below. This is only the bottom art of the log file.     - Cannot upload rdl report to CRM 3.0 with SQL Server 2005 Rep. Serv Although exisitng reports work fine with the SQL Server 2005 Reporting Services back-end, attempt to add new ones always fail on "an error occured while trying to add the report to microsoft crm" Rdl file has been generated by Visual Studio 2005 own data source. Accidentally, I tried to modfy existing reports with VS 2005. There are problems with Data Sources.     - Is Outlook CRM 3.0 PlugIn a joke or is it my failure??? Hi, after very bad experience with CRM 1.2 I thought I would give CRM 3.0 a second chance (and they will get a third one too). My first impression was: Why are the Icons in the tree not the same as they are in the webfrontend! Okay after this I started working. I thought that email tracking would be great for me. So I started to add my email (I write them in Outlook) to the Support Cases. They were automatically added to the history - great! I got the response (also added to the history) and answered. So from my part, I think I am done with this. But CRM still has a new activity in my queue - the answer from the customer! Why doesn't CRM recognize that I have answered the email and delete (or handle in other way) the activity in CRM? - Next thing is that my Outlook is slow after I installed the CRM Client. - I am not able to shutdown my computer if Outlook is still running!     - CRM 1.2 -> 3.0 Upgrade failure Hi, I am trying to get an install of CRM 1.2 upgraded to 3.0 but am running in to some issues when I try to. The installer fails with the following warnings and errors: Warning: The indexes on the Microsoft CRM database are not consistent with Microsoft CRM 1.2 indexes. Warning: Discrepancies were found in the read-only metadata. Error: Microsoft CRM 1.2 database export failed. The installer log files has the following line: 14:09:13| Error| Check ExportXmlValidator : Failure: Microsoft CRM 1.2 database export failed. We have previously been able to upgrade 1.2 to 3.0 successfully in our test environment. Our database has also had no customizations or 3rd party applications installed. We have tried installing over the top of the machine with 1.2 installed and also tried to install 3.0 on a fresh box pointing to the old 1.2 databases.     - Upgrade to 3.0 with named instance in SQL So, I've read SQL instances are not supported for 3.0.... Now I am faced with the challenge of moving my SQL databases to another SQL server using the default server and then moving them back after reinstalling SQL?     - Web Discovery Service Hi, I'm having trouble setting up the Web Service on our CRM box. I have tried to work out the reason why, but cannot find it at I am able to find the web service @ http://<crmserver>/mscrmservices/2006/crmservice.asmx once I find it I change the Web Reference Name to: CrmSdk then Add Reference. Unable to cast COM object of type 'System.__ComObject' to interface type 'EnvDTE.IVsExtensibility'. This operation failed because the QueryInterface call on the COM component for the interface with IID '{3C536122-57B1-46DE-AB34-ACC524140093}' failed due to the following error: No such interface supported (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80004002 (E_NOINTERFACE)).     - Opportunity salesstagecode vs. stepname Hi All, Iâ??m working with a sales process that sets the Opportunity.salesstagecode value to the appropriate sales stage as it progresses. This works fine until the sales reps manually step backward in the sales process. As you know, this backward step breaks the sales process automation. Therefore, the salesstagecode value is never again updated by the sales process, which breaks some reports that weâ??ve developed. My question has to do with the reason for the salesstagecode picklist in the first place. Iâ??m not sure I understand why it is there at all if the stepname attribute is the only one that is accurate (being updated by the change in sales stages regardless of the sales process automation). Iâ??m pretty sure that Iâ??m just missing a subtle difference in these fields. Is the Sales Stage picklist there for backwards compatibility?     - Booking appointments on behalf of others. Quite often I book appointments for others. When I do, CRM also books me in for the appointment as well, even if I change the ownership and assign the appointment to the proper user. The only way I havbe found to keep CRM from booking me into the appointment is to remove myself as organizer.     - Reporting on Opportunities Hi all, Can someone please tell me how to properly link the following tables : OpportunityBase SystemUserBase BusinessUnitBase AccountBase ContactBAse The goal is to report all opportunities by account (regardless whether the opportunity is attached to a contact or account) My problem is that most people attach the opportunities to a contact and even though the contact is attached to an account I can't get the account name to display. For all opportunities that are attached to a contact the account name is <NULL>.     - VAT in CRM 3.0 for non-programmers Ok, I know this has been done to death over this newsgroup but no-one has come up with an answer that I can use yet. What I need is the functionality within CRM to calculate tax as a percentage instead of a numeric value. We only have two rates at the moment (17.5% and 0% - UK VAT rates) so it simply needs to be one or the other. The problem lies in me not being a programmer. I can blindly insert code that is given to me if I am told where to put it & don't mind putting in a bit of work to do this. Also, we are using the SBS CRM software that comes as part of the Microsoft Action Pack as we are not a hugely high-profit company and so we can't really afford to shell out large sums of cash to developers to contract out the work. :( Can anyone provide a solution that is simple to implement (even if it is long-winded) and not hugely expensive? is over and i can not enter in the CRM and can not use CRM. Please help me
how to solve this problem. I have licence key for my own company. can i use
that licence key and how to change now it with my own key to log in the Demo
CRM 3.o. At start it show message that licence date is over. Try Again or
close.

To get you through your demo, try setting the date of your PC to a date
prior to the expiration date of the demo.
