Hi

I have just perform a Accounts data migration from MS Access to MS CRM. I
have set the owninguser to 1 when migrating....after migration i am unable to
view the Accounts data which I have just migrated into CRM. Therefore I
change the owning user in the database to my GUID ID...

can this work?

Pls advise.
Thanks

Hi,

Are you able to use an Administrator account to logon to the CRM server.
That user should be able to see all the accounts in the system because of his
security privileges. Then use that user to Assign all the accounts to the
user you want to.

You should not update the ownerid in the database by hand, this will lead to
problems.

Hi,

Thanks for your reply. But after my migration, the ownerid is actually
pointing to the admnistrator where the administrator does not have any
licenses to the sales module. which means, i cant see the list of Contacts
and Accounts Therefore i actually change the ownerid to one of the user's
guid id....

is this ok? If not, wat can i do?

Kindly assist pls.

Thanks
Johnson

Just temporarily add a license to the administrator account and remove it
after you finished reassigning the entities. That way the administrator
account won't use up one of the licenses. Do not change the ownerid in the
database, this can cause unwanted behaviour.

Sometimes it takes time before the post is shown on the newsgroups.

Just go the the entity screen (account screen for example), select them all
and Choose Action -> Assign.. (the action menu is just above the grid
containing the entities (accounts)). Then select the user which you want to
assign them to.

Also, please realize that you don't have to "assign" records to someone in
order fro them to see them. It can be accomplished by modifying the
Security Roles the user is assigned to.
