    - Contract Lines and Invoices When a Contract Line is complete for a Contract and we need to bill for the Contract, what is the best practise with the Invoices system within CRM 3.0? There seems to be no relation with Contracts and Invoices? I thought that by "Invoicing" a contract it would appear in the Invoices area in CRM?     - Settings tab disapear from Admin user Hi All, we have a strange issue regarding the setting tab on the CRM UI. i am the admin user and when i login to the CRM it can see the settings tab and all other options inside, but when i install the outlook desktop client on my machine the settings tab from the web UI either disappears or does not do anything when i click on it. so if i uninstall the outlook client it starts working fine again on the web UI. anyone else ever faced this before ? any ideas what could be the problem and the resolution ?     - Incoming Email from Router Hi All, I am facing a typical CRM issue that our emails with CRM token with them are not directly reaching inside CRM, but when in outlook we click track in CRM it does. I have read and searched the newsgroup and found many answers & solutions to this issue and have tried them all (the ones i found) but still no success. following is what i have already done: (*) installed the router (*) installed and run the deployment wizard for the forwarding rule in users mailboxes. (*) have entered the CRMEmailEnabled attribute to the users exchange advance custom attributes. (*) the users setup in AD and exchange setup is all okay and was working before the CRM was setup. (*) the settings available in user preferences regarding email tracking are also marked to recv emails in CRM. as a user (the admin user) i am sending emails to dummy leads that i have created with google email accounts. i can see the token in the subject line and when i reply back i get them in my outlook and not in CRM, but when i press Track in CRM it does gets into the CRM. my questions are: (*) is there anything else to do with CRM setting or AD setting or Exchange setting ? (*) I read somewhere in the newsgroup that if the token prefix is changed from the Organization settings then this tracking issue arrises and to solve this i need to isntall the patch, could this be the problem as our prefix has changed by the boss !.     - State and status code for customize entity Hi, Last time my user wanted to capture info regarding entertainment expense associate with the opportunity. This has been accomodated by creating new entity. When the opportunity is closed either won/lost, the entertainment expense associate to that opportunity must be change also its status. I have noticed that statecode in opportunity is defined either open, won or lost. However the statecode in customize entity is either active or deactivate. Question: 1. Can the state code for customize entity be changed so the value will represent the same value as opportunity state code? how to do that? What i am thinking is that if both value in statecode are the same, maybe i can map both entities.     - Workflow rule - Insert Action - Create Note issue When I create a workflow rule using Insert Action "Create Note" it executes fine, but when I come to view these in Notes, the entry line says these notes are created by me, rather than the record owner. I when open the note it shows the correct title and subject, but in the main notes view it shows my name. So it seems that the Workflow uses the Owner of the Rule (whoever created the rule) as the owner of the entity instance the rule creates. Has anyone come across this before?     - MSCRM Merge security bug? Hi there, There is a bug with merging records unless user have a system administator role. CRM standard user is unable to MERGE records account or contact.     - Companies with Contacts in Outlook Hello, I have noticed that all of our contacts that get automatically put into Outlook 2003 from Microsoft CRM 3.0 don't have a company listed for them. Is there any way that we can change a setting so when the CRM puts a contact into Outlook it will also put the company we have that contact listed under?     - CRM Email Router Undeliverable sub folder What is causing emails to end up in the Email Routers Undeliverable folder? I've been looking at the emails there and I can't determine why they are getting there. The emails are going to valid users, their primary email address was the one sent to. It is odd that they show up here. Many emails are processing through the system normally so it's not an account permissions problem. Is there any way to get some logging to see what is happening?     - Look For should search inactive records too (or give choice) The Look For search bar only searches Active records. Even if you are already in the Inactive records area, those will not be found by the search. Today the only workaround in native CRM is to save an Advanced Search to includes inactive records.     - Scheduling Overnight Service Activities Hi I have a customer where their business takes place at night. Service Activity Scheduling is to be used to schedule resources for various business activities. I have found a kba to explain how to make a resource available for overnight shifts by changing their work hours. However, now that this is done, it doesn't appear to be possible to actually schedule a service activity that spans two days. Has anybody managed this and how did you do it? Clients (both laptop and desktop) can connect to the server, .. all fine While configuring the server-side I've noticed these items to produce an error: Settings \ Organization Settings \ System Settings Settings \ Organization Settings \ Fiscal Year Settings While Settings \ Organization Settings \ Auto-Numbering works fine.. I've got following situation and problem: New Lookup on Opportunity Table "Product" having custom entity "MyProduct" as source lookup table. Default mapping to ID and Name works correctly. I've defined an additional Mapping of NVCHAR field "MyField". This custom field is available in both entities. What I need is following: If user selects a "MyProduct" withing Opportunity, should the field "MyField" (or every simillar way mapped fields) also be updated. The value of MyProducts.MyField should be copied into field Opportunity.MyField. By default, even if the mapping correctly defined, nothing happens... Have U got any suggestions?     - Crystal Reports Server XI: Logon to CMS Hi group, Not sure if this should be posted here but anyway here we go: I just installed the trial of Crystal Reports Server XI, but now after the installation I had to register and after that it ask me to logon to the CMS. I need to fill in username + password and Authentication (WindowsNT, LDAP, Enterprise). I'm not sure what to do here, I tried this with my administrator account local, Domain account, I remember I had to fill in an username and pwd at the start of the installation, tried that one aswell.     - Outlook Clients - nearly 100% CPU load if crmaddin ist activated Hello everyone, after installing both clients on different machines, we always get the problem of a neary 100% CPU load if the Outlook is being started. After disabling the Outlook COM-AddIn by unchecking it in the options settings, the CPU load is normal but the CRM button won't work. So this could not be the fix....     - Excel Export - Dynamic Pivot table missing data This is a bit hard to explain, but here goes... I did an export from CRM (Excel Dynamic pivot table). It seems that all of the data is there. I drag account name to the far left then the state filed right next to that and I get the account name next to the Address1 State. So far so good. The problem is when I drag the state to the horizontal axis. I get the list of states across the top. But there should be a "1" in the column for the correct state directly across from the account name. There is no data at all in these columns. Any thoughts. I have used Pivot tables in the past (not exported from CRM) with out an issue.     - follow up phone calls and My Phone Call view The My Phone Call view is very helpful as it lists the contact to be called in the Recipient column and the phone number in the Phone Number column. However, these two columns do not popluate if you use the Follow Up feature. Example use case: I click on an item in the My Phone Call view opening up the Phone Call screen to enter notes, create a new Phone Call Follow Up, and then close out the current call. Assume the original Phone Call was scheduled from a Contact. The Receipient column does not update with the Contact name and the phone Call column was not populate with the Contact's phone number. I can access Exchange remotely with a web browser, by logging into a secure (https) connection to our site. But this shows only the standard Exchange, not the CRM-enabled version.     - I dont understand campaigns???? So Im new to CRM and trying to learn how my users are going to use this, I tried making a new marketing campaign. Now on the marketing tab I select campaign. Since theyre are no campaigns currently I select NEW. I name the campaign, set status to ready to launch and save and close the campaign. Now going back into the campaign I have more options I can choose, so I select campaign activities and make an email (not mail merged) activity. Enter the subject of the email activity and the body of the activity. Now I go into the marketing part of the activity and add my marketing list to it. I save and close this activity. Finally I add some sales literature to my activity and save it. In my workplace there is now a "campaign activity" there. I open it and distribute the campaign activities. This is where it gets confusing. It bring up another email section lookign for a subject and body. I thought I already did this???? So I enter the subjects again and hit distribute. The emails as new activities now with the status as DRAFT. I can send these but the subject is different and there is no sales material attached. I can attach them all individually but that makes no sense to me. What is going on here???? I can get the emails out but no attachments, 2 different subjects etc. How do you work this thing?     - Database name and OU Name in CRM 3.0 In CRM 1.2, the active directory OU and the Database name must have the same name. For instance, if our OU is called "McKinzie Inc", then our Database name will be "McKinzie_Inc_MSCRM". Is this still true for CRM 3.0 ?     - CRM Login Issues I am having a problem that when I open the crm website (http://crm:5555) I get automaticall logged in under the domain administrator account even though I am logged in to my client computer under my domain user account. If I go to the FQDN of our CRM server (http://crm.mydomain.com:5555) it prompts me for credentials and then I can log in under my user account.     - CRM email router requires Outlook Express components... Hi, Just thought I'd pass on our success story with CRM-Exchange integration. We've been experiencing nothing but headaches with the Exchange Router configuration in the past week. We were not able to send emails from CRM and/or Web interface. What we had determine was that Outlook Express needs to be installed on the CRM servers. We are running CRM 3.0 on 2003 servers. However, by default, our servers are setup without Outlook Express components. Tons and tons of logs were passed back and forth to Microsoft BS. We decided to test by installing OE components and this finally resolved our issue. So, if you are having issues with sending emails through CRM, make sure you check OE to see if it is installed. This was a crucial factor in the implementation. Microsoft should make a note of this as it would help us greatly. Who would've thought to enable OE on servers right?     - Follow-Up Activities We used to use Goldmine before Microsoft CRM, and one of the features that I really miss was the ease in creating a follow-up activity. For example, I could create a phone call activity for June 1. When I call, I gather info (and log it in the call), but discover that I need to call again in another month. With Goldmine, I could click a button that would save the current activity, and essentially copy it (along with all the notes) to a new activity. Then all I needed to do was change the date. This was an excellent method to ensure that all opportunities always had a future activity scheduled, and didn't get lost in the shuffle.     - Easy way to export ALL data from leads I just recently began playing with CRM and one of the things I noticed is that the export to Excel feature is kind of dissapointing. I have created some leads in CRM and would like to export them out to an Excel file. On the leads menu I click the export to excel and have tried all the options to export to excel. I can only seem to get the files that are appearing on the screen to show up in the excel document. Is there a way to get all the data in the leads to be in the excel document?     - Changing the amount of leads that appear on lead page. This seems like it would be something rather simple to do with customizations but I have not yet found a way. Right now we have 50 leads showing per page and some people have 500+ leads is there a way to have it so that more leads say 100 or maybe even all leads appear in the my leads page.     - Multiple Products On Account I would like to display on the account form what products they have installed which in our case could be multiples.     - Outlook 2007 and CRM I am beta testing Outlook and I am unable to install CRM 3 to use with it. My two problems are 1) the .net framework (although I have 2.0 installed) the CRM installation looks for 1.1 an won't install before I add this to my machine. 2) the installation does not recognize that a valid version of Outlook is installed, (fair enough, some would argue that beta versions are not valid).     - CRM 3.0 MSAP and Open Licensing We installed 1.2 a while back which included 5 licenses. We ordered 12 more licenses bringing the total to 17. When we pruchased them, there was an offer running that any license bought would be transfereable to CRM 3.0. We just recently installed 3.0 but I had to use the Trial License since we had 17 active users and the CRM 3.0 MSAP key only allowed for 10 users. I wasn't able to enter that in. Two questions come of this: 1) How do I "upgrdae" the license key for the 12 that we bought through OpenLicense? Do I even need too or can I just enter it? 2) I am unable to convert the trial license to the MSAP license presumeably because the 17 active users are greater than the 10 in the MSAP key. If I disabled 7 users, would I be able to convert the license? And if 2 is true, could I then enter the key (depending on the answer to #1) and then reenable the 7 users? Thanks! Hi there,

Is it possible to change a Contract Status after it has been set to Invoiced?
The reason I ask is that currently our Projects have the following status;
not complete
complete
approved for invoicing
invoiced

In CRM I will use Contracts as our projects. However, we need to know the
status of the Contract (i.e. if a developer has completed work on a Contract
line the Contract status should be set to complete).

The status will also allow me to display a report for say "All Contracts
with a status of Approved for invoicing" which will allow the Accounts to
write up an Invoice for the Contract.

Does this seem a normal scenario or maybe there are other ways CRM provides
for this functionality?
