    - Cannot Access System Settings or Access Reports CRM (3.0) is working fine...except that we cannot access the SYSTEM SETTINGS (under Settings->Organization Settings->System Settings). We get a highly descriptive "Error Has Occurred" msg. We suspect though it is permission related somewhere even though we log on with a Domain Admin account who is also the CRM admin. Secondly, we cannot access SQL Report Service reports. The default set of reports has been installed by CRM in the default directory. However, we get a blank page when we access http://<servername>/reports and we get an error when we try to access the reports section from within CRM.     - Email Subprocess failing I have a Workflow Rule that will kick off a common email based on case status. However, what I have found is that executing a subprocess to send the email does not work or pauses. If you find it paused, and refresh, no email is sent. Changed the Exec subprocess to Send Email and the rule is running fine. I would like to know if sending emails in a subprocess is a problem or just is not supposed to work?     - Can't assign task to another user I have a task that I would like to assign to another user, but I am getting an error message saying " Activities that have been closed cannot be assigned to another user". This task is not closed, however, so I'm not sure what is going on. I checked in both the task and activitypointerbase tables, and the statecode field was set to 0, while the statuscode field is set to 2 for this record. This matches what is set for an open test task that I created, so it seems like the values are correct. I can't really understand why we are getting the error message about the activity being closed when it doesn't actually seem to be closed at all. Has anyone come across anything like this?     - User specific custmizations Is there a way for each user to customize thier default views and columns shown in the views? For example: User A would like to go to the accounts section and have "my active accounts" as his default view. User B wants a custom view we have created called "active accounts ending contract" to be the default. The system admin and Managers want the default view for them to be "Active Accounts". Within these default views certains columns are wanted by User A that User B does not want. For example: User A wants address to show as a column but User B does not want the address shown.     - MS CRM - Outlook/Exchange RPC over HTTP support Hello, I would like to receive advice regarding Microsoft CRM. The company that I represent is in negotiations with a partner of Microsoft about purchasing Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0. One of our most important needs is to enable our sales and tech. representatives from abroad to use the system as well. Our reps are currently using Outlook2003/Exchange2003 using RPC over HTTP. The current version of MS CRM 3.0 doesnâ??t support RPC over HTTP. We have been informed that our only option for the time being is to work using VPN and Terminal Server. We have also been informed that the next version of MS CRM 4.0 (work name â??Titanâ??), that will be available in the end of 2007, will support working in CRM from Outlook using RPC over HTTP.     - Bulk Edit should be disabled by default, or limit to Users with Ad By default, a user with just a salesperson role can select multiple records on a live production CRM system and change critical information like Account Name. Account Number to some rubbish symbols and save... and you ended up with multiple records of same trashy account name. What's worse, there is no way to restore the selected records back to their origianl content other than a full backend SQL restore. This is unacceptable! You should only allow non-business-required fields be modified in bulk, or provide lots of warnings before a user can actually save multiple records with the same name in a business-required-field (like Account Name, contact's Last Name, etc).     - Bulk Import of data Hi, I have to automate the process of importing more than 1.8 million of contacts in the form of XML (retrieve from another web application) into MSCRM contact. when those contacts on that web application is updated, deleted or removed, it has to update MSCRM automatically.     - ISV.confg export and import problem hi all experts, I facing one funny problem at CRM3.0, i am export ISV.config to one xml file, after that i import back that ISV.config immediately without changing anything. But it come out error message said Import has encountered an error and has been canceled. Your system has been restored to its original state. (1) we need to export invoice related data (invoice and invoiceproduct) to our ERP due to local tax requests to print invoices in pre-authorized documents...we are outside of USA...how?     - Uninstalling hotfix Support emailed hotfix KB911520 that sends emails after creating quick campaigns. This now prevents us from editing the campaigns before they are sent to the customer, so I would like to remove this and test the manually send. I try to uninstall the hotfix and it says there is a newer update on the server, please remove first. I then try and remove the other hotfix I have KB925874, but the remove is greyed out.     - Records should first be deleted logically from MSCRM database! When records are accidently deleted by users, these records get physically deleted from the MSCRM database with the current config of the system. This I think can be very frustrating when users who are just learning tend to delete records they dont intend to. I think, data should first be deleted logically (ie be flagged as deleted using a bit number in a seperate field) and if need be the administrators could easily run a query and change the status from deleted to not being deleted. This could keep data intact. A job could automatically run every so many months to ensure that the records which are still flagged to be deleted (for over so many months) could get physically deleted from the database then. I hope this makes sense. I think this should be standard for any software and CRM should definately be smart enough to recognise the value of this.     - Deleting Email Attachments When a user creates an email in CRM 3.0 and adds an attachment, they are not able to remove that attachement unless they have permission to delete activities. I find this rather annoying because our client doesn't want their users to be able to delete activities from the CRM system, however they would like them to be able to remove attachments from emails when they are sending them out. Has anyone else found this problem or does anyone know a work around without giving users permission to delete activities??     - Web service / javascript problem on remote pc Hi, I've created a web service that is called in the onload event of an entity. The code to access the web service (Microsoft.XMLHTTP) is in a seperate javascript file and I use a 'document.write' statement in my global.js to include it there. The code works fine when I access CRM on the crm server, but when I try to connect from another pc, the onload event doesn't get results back from the web service. When I access the web service directly in a browser from that pc it works fine. I was wondering if someone else had similar issues. I already tried to play with the security settings of my trusted zone, but with no luck. I'm using IE 7 to access CRM (also on the crm server, where it works).     - Credit Invoice I have read that many of us have the same problem and that Msft staff has said the issue is on the tracking database....how long before it is available? The temporal solution of creating a 0 quantiy 1 dollar value with the negative value in discount works, but you loose track of the items being canceled. The ideal solution will be to allow negative quantities...that way, if i sell 50 Unit A and 10 Unit B...I can make an invoice for -10 Unit A and -5 Unit B and CRM can calculate the totals based on the price list.     - passing parameters I am trying to pass a network pathway to an iFrame but it's not working. I investigated the issue by printing to screen the crmForm.all.iFrame_Test.src value and see that it accepts only when I pass to it anything except for the " \ " character.     - The Basics Hello all! I am new to MS CRM. My background is mainly in Oracle Databases/Financial Applications, so my syntax needs some brushing up! I just have a few quick questions regarding the basics of CRM customization as the book I am reading contains very few examples. From the passages I've read in the book, it seems to be fairly simple to customize forms in CRM. I have been able to do some customization such as removing certain fields from forms, adding more business-specific attributes to forms, etc. However, I am having difficulty with what I believe to be, a core concept of CRM. I am trying to alter the Preview Window form for the Tickets entity. I want to display the Customer Phone Number on this form. My problem is, the phone number attribute is not a part of the Tickets entity. So I decided to create a custom attribute belonging to Tickets. Since a relationship already exists between Client and Ticket, I altered the Mappings under the Parental relationship and mapped the source field (telephone1) to the custom attribute. I added it to the Preview Form, saved, and published. I do not see the value in the field. My question is, am I completely misunderstanding the customization side of CRM? Can I only create new attribute fields and INSERT data into them and save them in this manner? Do I need custom scripting to retrieve the value from the Client entity to achieve my sought after functionality? I feel like I could go in any number of directions here, but I would like to achieve this functionality without scripting, if it is possible.     - Hidden report filter in CRM I created a report that involves accounts, opportunity and opportunity products. It works great in SRSS. After I import it to CRM, I clear off the default filters on accounts and opportunity entities. There is no filter visible on opportunity product. The report when run in CRM does not look right. When I did a trace, it seems that there is a filter for looking at opportunity products modified in last 30 days. However, when I edit the default filter, I dont even the opportunity product entity listed there. My question is how can I remove this filter from this report.     - Disable Quick Campaign What is the best way to disable - or better still hide - the quick campaign button for certain users? It doesn't appear to be itemized in the security roles. We can disable bulk emails etc, but would prefer that the button just doesn't appear at all.     - Auto Populate Case Details Hi We would like for the serial number to be automatically populated once the product is chosen on the case form. I know that we have to use JScript and possibly use the OnChange Event so that as soon as the product is selected the serial number is populated.     - More on autopopulation I have recreated a clients business process through Leads and Opportunities and have created a custom entity much along the lines of an Invoice which is a child to the Opportunity. What I am trying to accomplish is to have the address and main contact information autopopulate on my custom entity. Since I am creating this Entity from an Opportunity (which has the lookup for the Account) there are no mappings available for me to pass information from the Account to my custom entity. How can I create a link to the selected account and have the information transposed into the Custom entity? I have creted a seperate look-up on my custom Entity to Accounts, but the only way that mapping would work is if I created an instance of the Custom Entity from the Account, this I do not want to do. So I do have the proper account appearing on the instance of my Custom Entity, but the question is how to get the address and the main constact info to autopopulate. -- Thank you for the help!! We have about 6 users who have v3c on Outlook 2003 SP2 and XP. Each of these
users logon to their laptops at start up and then will launch Outlook.
Outlook connects. When the user clicks anywhere on CRM, CRM asks for their
credentials again. Each user has been instructed to hit Cancel until the
credential request goes away which it will after 3 - 6 Cancels. Is this
normal? Is anyone else out there experiencing this?

In case you have not found a resolution, here is something I tried for
another client with similar issues:

Similar meaning - same exact issue. But only two users affected (out of
thirty or so, all on V3C client).
