    - Not all customizations can be imported Hi, On an image I created new entities and made modifications to the Account en Contact entity. When importing these customizations on the test environment I receive an SQL Server error. Importing the customizations one by one, I only am able to import the Contact entity. All the other Eintities, Account and new ones, give the SQL Server error. The error message is: "SQL Server Error, please contact your system administrator". I also imported these customization on a fresh image, there the customizations are imported without any error.. Any ideas??     - CRM 4.0 Email Router - Incoming Status: Failure - Certificate Rela I just rolled out an upgrade from CRM 3.0 to 4.0, and my current issue is I cannot get the Incoming profile in the Email Router to validate. Every time I use "Test Access" using various setup options it replies: Incoming Status: Failure - The underlying connection was closed: Could not establish trust relationship for the SSL/TLS secure channel. The remote certificate is invalid according to the validation procedure. The SSL certificate that our exchange site uses is self signed and installed on the server. According to IE it is a valid certificate and issues no errors. Is it okay to continue past this an publish my settings, or will the email router not work if I do so?     - CRM 3.0 Report scheduling wizard Hi, Can you bale to provide the user manual for CRM 3.0 Report scheduling wizard? When I schedule the report, it says scheduled snapshot and snapshot available. After that If i click on that snapshot it is taking the same amount of time, as If i run the original report. So I have a doubt whether im using the correct process to schedule reports.     - Outlook Client suddenly stopped working CRM 3.0 installed on SBS2003 w/SQL2005. All users are on workstations running Outlook client. everything has been running fine since the installation until this week when on 8 of 10 machines, the CRM toolbar is suddenly greyed out (inactive). On the same machine, the user can access the web client with no problem. Tried an uninstall/reinstall which seemed to load correctly, but now the toolbar is greyed out and the folders under MS CRM in the navigation pane are missing.     - Quick Email Campaign We have had CRM 3.0 Small Business installed for a few months now and it's time to start toying with it a little. Can someone shed light on creating a quick simple email blast? I have a test list in an excel spreadsheet that i want to send an HTML email to. I have Exchange installed and configured as well (I have sent some test emails back and forth to myself from CRM so I know it works.) If at all possible I'd rather not have to go through the process of importing/mapping my contact list into CRM. Is it possible just to send the email in CRM using the spreadsheet as a datasource?     - Missing Customizations in Settings I've been scratching my head on this one. Yesterday I granted privilege rights to a security role to allow them to see the Customizations menu item in Settings and to make changes to forms. Everything worked fine and this user added a new tab and fields, etc. This morning when she came in she can't see the Customizations menu item is Settings. Nothing has changed.     - Microsoft Business Contact Manager Hi, Can anyone help me. I am looking for a simple CRM tool to work with Exchange 2003 and outlook 2007. We require a tool for monitoring sales peoples appointments and contacts. I have just bought a lot of new machines with Office and they had a Business manager trial already on the machine.     - associated view columns limited to one entity CRM4 has a great feature where you can add columns from related entities to a view. Not sure why the associated view was left behind (it is still limited to fields only from the entity the view is for), but it is a disappointment that it does not have this as it is one of the most widely used views. Not sure if there is a significant techincal challange behind this limitation, hopefully this can be addressed in one of the patches or with a workaround. If someone is aware of a way to get to this view configuration it would be much appreciated to hear about it.     - CRM 4.0 need new Print Quote to Customer Document We had a designer modify the Quote to Customer document without saving the original first and now are having problems with it. Can someone tell me where to find the Quote to Customer document on the installation CD or can I get a copy of the document?     - Data Import/ Data Map Questions Hello, I am developing a solution that will allow various new and updated entities to be loaded from several source systems into a Microsoft Dynamics 4.0 installation on an ongoing basis. There are some up- front components to the solution that detect new/changed source system data that are custom but I wanted to be able to use the built-in Data Import facilities within 4.0 to take the data from Excel files and load it into the CRM. I've looked at the sample code in the SDK and have been able to write code that will do this, including use of Picklist and Lookup (ie parent account) type columns; however, I sense there are some big differences between data maps created in the CRM UI vs. those created via CRMService code. 1) Why do Data Maps that are created programmatically using the CRMService not show up in the UI? Looks like you can make them show up by flipping the IsValidForImport boolean; however, this attribute is readonly on the importmap class. 2) When I try to import an XML file-based Data Map via the CRM UI that contains <LookupMap> elements it complains they are "not a valid element in a data map used for importing data"; however, I am able to do lookups in Data Maps created via code with no problem - what's the difference here? Are more advanced concepts like lookups only supported in code? I would rather create my Data Maps in XML and then import them for use when importing via code rather than creating them each time in the code right before their use. 3) When creating Data Maps and using them to import data via code are you supposed to create the data maps new with each import of a similar file or can/should they be reused by retrieving them using their Guid? The SDK shows the former, that is creating and using them on the fly, but this seems like it should be unnecessary.     - New custom report failing to display Hi all, I am starting to create new custom reports for the first time. As a test, I have changed the Account Overview report slightly in MS VS 2003. I uploaded the new report to CRM as per the many posts on here. When I run the SUB report from CRM, it runs fine. When I run the main report, I get this error message "Error: Subreport could not be shown." Following the posts here, I set the right data source connection in MS VS 2003. When I run the SUB report from there, again it runs fine. When I run the main report, I get this other error message "The url javascript:void(window.open('')) has an invalid schema. URLs in reports may only use http://, https://, ftp://, mailto: or news;" I get the error message in MS VS 2003 when I run the original report AND the one I modified; so it must be that I am missing some setting in MS VS 2003. I noticed that there is a parameter "CRM_URL" which is automatically set to Null even if I change it. I don't know if that makes a difference! Thank you!     - A SQL error has occurred. Going off line with Outlook CRM 4. I have seen this in multiple workstations. Running the diagnostics, does not report any errors, however removing the temprary data under advenced fixes the problem by deleting the content of the off line database. The problem with this fix is that it may take up to 12 hours for some of our overseas employees to do their initial off line. When is SP1 due? When trying to create a second company I get a strange error message coming from the SQL Server (2005 Dev DE) - see at the bottom.     - Special right is required? Hi, I just did some customizations in CRM 4.0 I added a menu (with the ISV) in Outlook and the webclient where a simple user-view is shown. So all users can easily get phonenumbers of their coworkers. My problem is, that not everybody sees the menu - and I guess it has to do with insufficient rights. As I don't want to give too much rights to normal workers, but I want them to see the menu (I want extend that in the future) I added user-read rightts but that doesn't seem to be enough. What screw I have to tight to fix that ;-) If you have any idea - please discruibe the right on which tab it is, because I have a german version.     - Possible to notify only when system jobs include errors? On several system jobs (e.g. imports, duplicate detection jobs) you can choose for the options to let CRM send you a notification e-mail when the system job has finished. This is nice functionality. However, what would be even more useful, is being able to let CRM send you an e-mail when system jobs have failed or include errors. This would give the system administrators much more useful information. System administrators will only be 'disturbed' when something goes 'wrong'. Does anybody know whether this is possible in Dynamics CRM 4.0? End if you do, please tell me what is the way to do this. This would be a great help. Thanks in advance!     - Require ability to print service calendar in CRM I am using the service Calendar in CRM 3.0 to record commitments etc booked for a pool of consultants. The service calendar enables me to create a view of appropriate resources so I can effectively see a schedule for the months ahead. What I am not able to do is print this Service Calendar as you can for example in Outlook. This strikes me as being something of an oversight and would be a useful feature. I have been told the only possible work around is to 'print screen' however this isn't really an option. Any comment / suggestions would be much appreciated.     - transactioncurrencyid is empty when tracking an email in CRM 4.0 I can track an email in CRM 4.0 outlook client. But when I clieck the "View in CRM" button, I got an error message pop up. It is "A currency is required if a value exists in a money field. Select currency and try again." It is because the field "transactioncurrencyid" is missing. Any entity that contains a field of type "money" in Microsoft CRM version 4.0 will also contain a field with the schema name "transactioncurrencyid". This field is created automatically when a money type field is added to the entity. Now I feel it is a bug of the "Track in CRM" program.     - Outlook Synch Issue Hi, am hoping someone can help with this problem. We have a number of users who receive a warning pop up box when trying to go back online, stating: "The form for this item ......Because this item contains macros...you may not want to run the macros. If you are sure this item is from a trusted source, click 'Enable Macros'. Otherwise, click 'Disable macros'." This pop up box appears many times and seems to be related to appointment records in Outlook. (ie we can see the subject for the appt in the blue bar of the message. This problem seems to keep reoccurring and it a real pain for users who are refusing to use the client until this is fixed. Has anyone experienced this problem before and how can we fix it??     - New Install CRM 4.0 - Error Message We installed 4.0 (New Install, new Server) 3 days ago with no issues on. I then installed the E-mail Router yesterday (with a few hiccups).     - Orders - Owner is being updated Hi!!! Here is our problem: First of all, we have MS CRM 3.0. All Accounts have owner the system administrator user. This was our decision. However, all our activities, opportunities and orders are assigned to specific users. Our problem is: We have made a custom form (.aspx) and a web service which run on a custom entity. The form is executed by users, while the web service is executed by third-party systems. Both update some fields to our custom entity and ONE CUSTOM FIELD TO THE ACCOUNT ENTITY. When this update occurs, our activities, opportunities and orders are assigned to the account owner, the system admin user. We changed the cascading rule for the activities and the opportunities, and we fixed the problem for those entities. However, the cascading rule cannot be changed for Orders. Questions: 1) Can you imagine why by doing a simple update to a custom field of the Account entity, it updates the owner of the orders with the account owner ??? We talk about updating, not assigning !!! 2) Is there any official way by MS to change the cascading rule of the Account - Orders and fix the problem forever ?     - CRM4 reporting errors I ran a Microsoft Update on my SQL server that has apparently broken the link between CRM4 and SQL Reporting Services. After the update I started receiving this error whenever I tried to run a report: Microsoft CRM Unhandled Error Details: Server Error in '/' Application. One or more data sources is missing credentials I searched and found MS KB946289 that mentions this error when SQL 2005 critical update 934458 is installed. The fix they describe is either repairing or reinstalling the CRM SSRS connector. I tried Repairing and reinstalling the connector but the error did not go away. I then uninstalled update 934458 and repaired/reinstalled the SSRS connector, still with no success. I am now at a loss as to how to proceed. I remember from the CRM 1.X days there ways a way to re-publish all the reports, but that was when we were dealing with Crystal reports. Can something similar be done with SSRS? My test setup is fairly simple, with a 64-bit SQL 2005 server and a 32-bit CRM server and no host headers. Any help is much appreciated.
