    - Deployment tool cannot publish customization I've re-installed my CRM using existing databases on a website I created with port number 4000 (As prep for deploying CRM Mobile). Everything works fine except the deployment tool cannot publish customizations. I select the module to publish, try to add a CRM server to publish from and the deployment tool puts up a dialogue saying 'Looking for a CRM Server...' and then waits for ever. I've also noticed that the Workflow Manager and Monitor only find the server if I tell it to use the servername:portnumber rather than just the servername.     - Reassigning orders I have the following set up. Organization : business units (BU1) and (BU2) User1 belongs to BU1 and User2 belongs to BU2. The aim is to let User1 manage accounts and create orders and then assign the orders (after manual review) to User2. The constraint is, once the order is reassigned to User2, User1 should not be allowed to edit the order. I am trying to achieve this by following these steps: 1. Assign a role to User1 so that (s)he can update orders that belong to him/her only. 2. User1 logs in and creates an order. 3. User1 assigns the order to User2. 4. Admin logs in and removes User1 from the sharing list for the order. Thus, User2 now is the sole owner of the order. Now, User2 is able to access the order, which is what I want. But I am surprised to find that User1 can still modify the order. IS there any rule that creators of entities will always be able to edit it? Am I doing something wrong?     - Force Removing SFO Hi All, I installed SFO on my pc a while back. Since then I've changed domains and the old user account that I installed SFO with is gone. When I log on as an admin and try to remove it through Add/Remove programs it says I have to be logged on as the user that installed the program.     - SFO - router installation Hi All, We have a scenario where in we have 4 exchange servers present in the organization (all the 4 servers are in the same domain). Only one of these 4 have the ability to receive incoming mails from the internet whereas all 4 can send email to the internet. So all mails that come to the organization are routed through that specific Exchange Server.     - IE6 SP1 downloading problem Hello! I had FlashGet installed and uninstalled recently. After that, I noticed that when I click to download an .exe file, IE6 SP1 is not displaying the "Save to" window and I can see on the left bottom corner of the browser that it is silently opening the file. I opened registry editor to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Plugins\Extension\ and deleted the .exe key and restarted the computer. However, the problem is that the key is being recreating itself again and the problem persists.. Any ideas how can I fix this problem??? I looked around the internet and have not found any other case in which the key recreates itself..     - Changing ownership of Accounts I need to change the owner of all accounts in CRM to one Generic user. The sales team is no longer using CRM and I want to free up their licenses. I am having a problem with the fact that I can not change the owner of an account with out it changing the owner of any open or existing cases or activities. Yes, you might want the owner to trickle down but it is my customer care groups that have all these open tickets,not the sales team. When I change ownership they loose their cases that they have been working on. I have several thousand customers to change with open cases and am having trouble coming up with a solution.     - transferring licenses between a family of companies company 1 bought too many sales pro licenses. company 2 needs more. Both cos are run by the same Board and owned by the same shareholders. I admin both implementations. We want new keys to reflect a new transfer of 12 sales pro licenses. We paid top price for close to 45 licenses. I was under the impression that I could still use the API from something like a batch mode in addition to under the CRM umbrella.     - SFO data ownership and sharing data We have a client who's field sales force shares many of there contacts. If a contact needs to be shared between more than one Salesperson, can that contact be synchronized with their SFO? I understand that SFO synchronizes only the data you own, and only one user may own a record. But if a contact is assigned to a user, synchronized with SFO (go offline and then back online), and then the contact is reassigned to another user, will the original SFO user still synchronize with the contact they once owned?     - Page header or footer longer than a page. File 794368d5a91da8.rpt. Anyone seen this before? It only happens when trying to run the report via the CRM interface. The report ran fine last month. It's a copy of one of the canned pipeline reports that comes with CRM, with a date filter applied. Report has no parameters, just a filter. The report runs fine in Crystal.     - contract update/cases The following scenario: When I close a case, I fill in the actual duration time. The actual duration time is subtracted from the contract. Till so fore no problem. Sometimes we have to reopen the case. So the action close case is cancelled. But the time which we had calculated before doesn't return on the contract.     - Is there a "read-only" license for non-CRM users? Hi, i'm working in an organization with +- 30 people. Now I'm (trying to) implemend MS CRM for only a group of 10 people. Now is my problem ... all the data about customers will be stored in MS CRM like name, adress, email ..., but the other 20 people (mostly developers) needs this information so they can call and discuss problems with our clients. The only thing they want to see is the phonenumber or email (standard clientinformation) so they can communicate with them. I'm not going to buy 20 licenses for this groep which costs me $450,- per license. Is there some kind of "read-only" license which I can buy for this group?     - Not Authorized to view this page Hi Guys, I have recently installed CRM 1.2 onto a clients server running sbs2003. Since I needed sharepoint to run, I moved sharepoint to a different website. I created a new CRM website and installed it. It worked corectly. I have now had to change the ip address of the server and websites. I can log onto sharepoint without a problem, but CRM keeps giving me a 'You are not authorized to view this page' error. I also cannot log into workflow manager, 'I am told that the server localhost is not responding.' Can anyone give me a solution to solve this?     - Problem importing an xml file into Ms CRM The problem is that when we imported the xml file into a vanilla MSCRM database the contact form has â??lostâ?? all its labels from both fields and tabs, both o.o.b and customised. When we select any of these fields in the System Customisation utility, right click and look at the properties of the field the label is there, and reviewing the xml file in a text editor shows all the expected labels. However they do not show on the form either in the system customisation view or the usual user view. The import does not give any obvious errors, and we have redone the export of the xml from the client's MSCRM. The Contact form is working normally in their system. The client has previously added several fields to the contact table and form, but it still below the 8000 byte row size - just. The reason for bring the xml into a vanilla database is because the client has asked us to do some further customisations, and we did not want to do this directly onto their production system.     - CRM for Outlook - not grabbing web Home Page setting? Hi, my MS CRM web setting is set to "Workplace:Workplace" and the workplace tab is set to the Sales role. This works fine when I'm accessing the web client, and I'm taken to the appropriate Workplace view with the emails, drafts, etc. However, when I'm in the Sales for Outlook version and I click on the main MS CRM folder, it takes me to the vanilla Home Page instead of the "Workplace:Workplace" view like on the web. Is there a way to make the default SFO folder take me to the workplace? If not, what's the quickest and easiest way to get to that workplace view from Sales for Outlook? (The best I can find is Online Services-->Settings-->Workplace(at bottom, but I'm really hoping there's a smoother way that I can share with our client) Thanks! You can add a company name field using the forms customization. However, the
"standard" method would be to create a Parent Account for a contact.

note that a contact also has an addressname field which can be used for a
company name if you are not linking it to an account
