    - Microsoft Business Contact Manager for Outlook I am having problem during the initial stages of installating Microsoft Business Contact Manager for Outlook, on my lap top which is a stand alone machine and is not part of a network or connected to a Server.     - Case numbering I would like to change the cases to start at 3500 instead of 1000 to go along with our numbering scheme here. What happens if you import the org.xml customizations back on to CRM? What happens to the actual data? Will it simply drop off or could this cause damage to the database?     - CRM Sales for Outlook /machine profiles Hi Everyone, I have situations where employees are out of the office, they are connecting over a VPN when connecting to a Domain and doing their CRM thing, but has anyone come across an employee that doesn't have a internet connection and wants to use their machine and cannot log into the domain, becuase of this no internet connection problem and having to log onto the local machine and basically, they are not able to create emails and or add any CRM tasks or anything like that as they don't even show in that profile.     - Custom Fields in Crystal Reports? I have created a number of custom fields using the schema manager in the Deployment Manager and am now trying to write some addl reports but can't see all of the fields. The one's I added a couple of weeks ago are there but the ones recently added are not. I have published the changes, reset IIS, the new fields display on the forms, etc....I have also Verified the database in Crystal and it says it is up to date. Any other ideas on how to get make my customer fields avail in Crystal? i also noticed that a couple of new user that I created are not avail to me in Crystal when setting report selection criteria.     - Rules problem in CRM 1.2 I'm trying to generate some kind of activity from rule on account. Activity is generated but some fields in those activities are missing.(example, phone number in phone activity).     - error after saving a contract I migrated some accounts from an oracle db, when I compare the migrated accounts with an account that was created with MSCRM, I can find no differences (only the accountId field is different). When I want to create a contract with as customer the account that was created by MSCRM, CRM has no problem saving the contract. When I create a contract with the migrated account, I get an errorscreen (screen1 contents). When I change one of the customerfield of the contract that did change I get another errorscreen (screen2 contents).     - CRM E-mail in Outlook The CRM E-mail button added to Outlook builds an email form that does not allow me to select a Contact from CRM Contacts. When I click on To: my normal Outlook Address Lists are available but not the Contacts from CRM. When I try to add the The CRM Contacts folder to the Outlook Address Book there is no option like I can with other Contact folders. For example, to see exactly which APIs are getting called by whom etc. I understand even their UI is using the same SDK - although it doesn't seem to use Microsoft.CRM.Proxy.dll like us but rather Microsoft.CRM.COMProxy.dll - am I correct?     - Expires On date for contracts in workflow???? I am trying to create a workflow rule that will create activity for sales rep when a contract is 45 days before expiration date. the problem I'm having is that I can't get at the expires on date to set a wait type condition. All I can see is the create on and cancel on dates. For some contracts, I can use the create on date as long as it's like an annual contract...then i can set the wiat timer to go for like 10 months 15 days and trigger the rule. Problem is, we want to put in a bunch of existing contracts and they all are at various points in their life cycle so I need to calc off of the expires on date. Any ideas?     - Mappings from opportunity to activity I have customized the 'opportunity' form by adding a custom 'myLocation' field. I would like the 'location' field in an activity appointment to be populated with 'myLocation' from an opportunity when a new activity is created off the Opportunity page. I setup the mapping in the deployment manager under the Opportunity / mappings and added 'activities' and created the map. I published customizations, and reset IIS but the myLocation field doesn't carry over to the appointment 'location' field. Am I missing a step or am I misinterpreting the functionality of mappings.     - Web Access failure We installed CRM 1.2. All seems to be working except for Browser access from Win2K Pro and Win XP workstations. We can access the URL from the CRM server and othjer Win2003 Servers. Sales Outlook works. When we try and access via browser from Win2K and WinXP workstations we get the security screen, but when we click enter from Security login the browser immediatly closes. No error message.     - Data Migration Hello, we want to import different data (accounts, quotes) to the crm. The migration framework from microsoft is as bad as every microsoft tool, plus the documentation is unreadable and there is no word about known issues. I found some ideas here so maby this is right place to find the answer. The data we want to import is not complex so i tried to use DTS in SQL-Server but there are some fields that are not nullable (SecurityDescriptor) . The data is stored in a csv-file (comma-delimited) Is there a possibility to make an import without this migration framework? There is an Importfunction in the CRM but only for contacts and leads. For me importing data automatically is a task to save time and avoid stupid data typing 'the old way'. I have spent now 2 days to find out how this migration framework works.     - Crystal Report Viewer Issues Hello-- Has anyone had a problem running reports in CRM 1.2 that results in an error saying "Information is needed before this report can be processed" whenever a user tries to open a report? I am the only user at the company that can load the reports. We have even tested me and another user on the same PC. Here is the structure: Root-->Accounting (Sub business unit)--> Sales (Sub business unit under Accounting) I have one user is under Sales business unit, and I gave her "user" level priviledge on create, read, write, delete, append, append to Activity.     - Customising the printed invoices in MS CRM 1.2 - Australian We are implementing MS CRM 1.2 for a small company who really want use the invoice facility within MS CRM - they are really taken with the process of creating a quote, and then rolling this over to become an order and then an invoice. However, when we print the invoice (using the print button) it does not contain any information about the products that were purchased. I believe that having this information is a legal requirement in Australia - it is certainly a common sense requirement. What do we need to do to add this information into the invoice? We would also like to do some other customisations to the invoice eg including a company logo, some default details etc. It would be nice if the printed invoice form/report could be used as the invoice for the cusomer, so removing the requirment to have a real time interface to an accounting package or double entry of the information into another product just to produce the invoice. Hello Group

I wanted to install the CRM Outlook Client on our Windows 2003 Terminal
Server - the msde and client runs great under the admin account - but no
user can use the client. There are no entries under Settings and System
Settings including outlook - trying to install the client under an user
account setup says that the software is already installed. Does someone has
the same problem or a workaround.

Due to the way the Outlook client installs with teh MSDE, only 1 Outlook
client install per machine is allowed...
