    - CRM Integration not integrating CRM info to GP If I change an account name or address in CRM, it doesn't update the corresponding GP info, but it is working properly with changes to GP updating CRM. I can't use the auto-account number generation going from CRM to GP b/c of formatting issues, so I have the account creation option in the Integration settings set to create on sales order only & not automatic.     - ISV Integrations using Outlook (Laptop) client Hello gurus, I have an ISV application that adds a tab to the Account details page... we modify the isv.config.xml file, and it works fine on the IE client. But I can't get it to work with the Outlook Laptop client. I have tried a dozen different URL's, and still get the wonderful "An error has occurred. For more information, contact your system administrator." Well, that's me... I have several questions. 1) I updated the isv.config.xml file, and after going offline, I can see that file is updated on the laptop, and if I then go Online, the new buttons appear in the Outlook Client as they should. But I know in 1.2 we were support to modify the OutlookClient.xml... but that doesn't seem to have anything to do with the equation anymore. Is that correct? Modify the isv.config.xml file to affect the Outlook client? 2) I see no errors on the server event log, and the Windows\System32\Logfiles don't seem to have anything... is there any way to debug what this error is? 3) Has anybody got this to work? I could swear it used to, but it sure doesn't now... If anybody has, I'd appreciate the isv.config.xml code snippet that you used to make it work... Many thanks!     - CRM Reports not running from a client machine that is not in Fores A few of our CRM 3.0 installs for clients involve a four server deployment. With SRS databases resting on on SQL server and CRM databases residing on another. The SRS web server is on a seperate server from the CRM server. As many of you already know this often causes a double hop Kerberos error. Some of the clients already had problems with their Time Syncs and the w32tm tool helps with that. Also properly configured SPNs and kerberos authentication to the services resolves authentication within the domain. We must not forget the changes to be made in IE security. If you get a System.Net.WebException: The request failed with HTTP status 401: Unauthorized response when accessing the server from a client on the kerberos realm, the above changes normally solve the problem. BUT!!!!!!!!! A stand alone laptop has a problem when it hit's the web client remotely while not being part of the domain. In this context the access to reports give the System.Net.WebException: The request failed with HTTP status 401: Unauthorized error. I have been trying to get around this. I am trying several things. Since this type of machine is remote, I suspect that a VPN will fix the problem because it brings the machine into the network. Well, even if you are on the same broadcast domain, it will not work because a remote machine may not be part of the Forest. One Idea was that the Kerberos Packet was to big. So I entered the MaxTokenSize Reg_Dword in the registry at HKLM\SYSTEM\CCS\Control\LSA\Kerberos. Well, that helped to get the error sooner, since failed authentication occured faster.     - CRM 3.0, SBS 2003, and Faxing to multiple recipients Ok, I've got a customer that wants to fax blast to a group of their leads... I have everything working fairly well with incoming and outgoing 'single' send faxes.... My question is...I can't for the life of me figure out how to create a quick campaign or campaign that will take my marketing list and fax to all of them instead of creating xxx number of Activities to do for the user (opening each 1 and clicking send)... My usage is to run a campaign sending an e-mail newsletter with personalization, so Word mail merge seems to be the only route. However I don't see a way to set the sender.     - Change field length in V3.0? I have a situation where we are trying to map address info from a custom entity to the contact entity. Problem is that they address field for the custom entity was created with only 50 char in length and the address field in contact entity that we are trying to map to is of course 100 chars long. So, if you go to the address attribute in the custom entity it appears that you can change it from 50 to 100....it lets you save that change....BUT, when you try to map the two fields it still throws the message about not being able to map the fields because they aren't identical, etc.... We have made sure to publish the changes etc but still does not work....ideas? is it that you just can't change the length even though in the UI it appears that you can????     - Support? What Support? I sent in a ticket two days ago and got no response out of anybody from Microsoft. My company pays dearly for software assurance. I don't have two days to wait for assistance or even for a response from Microsoft in order to get an issue resolved. I have had a sales department that has been screaming at me for two days to get a problem fixed. All I have gotten was lip service from the dispatcher that we will have a technician call you. Very poor customer service! My management has stated their discontentment with CRM and the number of problems this application has caused. Additionally, they can't believe that two days went by without any word or followup from Microsoft. I had two service calls remaining. A lot of good Software Assurance is when you can't get someone to resolve an issue.     - CRM 1.2 Too Slow to be usuable This application is just to slow to be usable in a production environment. If a user has not done a query recently, it takes 2-3 minutes to bring up data.     - Offline option will not install for the Outlook client I installed the Outlook CRM client for a user and the offline options do not appear. I have tried uninstalling/installing but to no avail. I think it may have been caused because the user used to have a desktop (and didn't have offline installed). When I switched him to a laptop he originally had a roaming profile. I have since made his profile non-roaming and uninstalled/installed the CRM client, but the offline options never appear. Even the 'Local Data' options appear as though he is online only.     - Mail Routing issues When a mail which is sent from CRM with a routing id is replied too the reply is not automatically added to the account history. I have noticed that all the mail is in a "Undeliverable" folder under the CRM Roter mailbox in exchange.     - CDF Data Mapping Wizard - Timeouts Expire Hello, I'm working with the Data Migration Framework for CRM 3.0 (Small Business Edition) and I'm up to the step of "Cleanse CDF." I run the CDF Data Mapping Wizard and am able to map Territories and Users, but when I get to picklist items, whether I pick Automatic or Manual the process runs for about 30 seconds, during which time the CPU utilization on my SQL Server runs up to 30-40%. Then, I get to "Completing the CDF Data Mapping Wizard" which says that territories, users, and dropdown list values are mapped, but in the box below there is a message that says: * Timeout expired. The timeout period elapsed prior to completion of the operation or the server is not responding. The only option I have is to finish, and then the DMF says that the mapping wizard could not complete. Is there a way for me to update this timeout in the mapping wizard to allow the SQL Server, which is obviously trying to do something, more time to complete the operation it's attempting? One user exist in several business units, and depending on the job function that the user performs at the time (there are several job functions), the user reports to a different manager.     - CRM 1.2 to 3.0 Disaster Recovery Hi guys, I need some urgent help. I have CRM 1.2 database backup from which I need to recover records such as Contacts, Accounts and E-mails to CRM 3.0. I know there are ways of upgrading existing CRM 1.2 to 3.0, but unfortunatley the entire network is no longer working. I 've therefore installaed a new domain with CRM 3.0 which is working fine.     - BCM to CRM with SQL on seperate server Hi, I'm trying to migrate data from Microsoft BCM to the 90-day trial version of CRM Professional 3.0. I have CRM installed on one server with its SQL database on a seperate SQL Server Standard 2005 server. CRM is installed and working properly. When following instructions in the "Microsoft CRM Data Migration Framework Readme" I can only successfully attach the BCM database to SQL2005 if the database files (mdf and ldf) are on the SQL server. If I do this, and then try to specifiy the mdf file to the Data Migration Wizard for Microsoft Office Outlook with Business Contact Manager, the wizard tells me: "The specified file is either not a valid Outlook with Business Contact Manager database, or cannot be attached. For more information about copying and attaching the database, see the Data Migration Pack readme file." The readme says I must run the Data Migration Wizard on the CRM Server.     - User name change Hi I have a user who has go tmarried and hence changed her name. This has been changed in the AD and hence her Domain Logon Name has changed. Now when she tries to log into CRM she get s the no permissions error message. I am unable to change the logon name in the User profile in CRM. I tried disabling the user and then creating a new one with the new logon but I get an error message saying the user already exists.     - Excel 2000 - macro not found I developed an Excel 2003 spreadsheet with an embedded worksheet form button with an assigned macro written in VBA. A toolbar button is added in an entity in MSCRM 3.0 for user to click to open the Excel spreadsheet. Customer's Thailand branch office says it doesn't work. So far we tested with Excel 2003 in Singapore branch and no problems at all. I found out that the Thai branch users are running Excel 2000, but don't know if there are any SRs applied. When they click on the embedded worksheet form button it says "The macro ..... cannot be found." where "....." is the correct & complete path of the assigned macro. It seems to me that the macros perhaps somehow "disappeared" when users open in Excel 2000 in web browser via MSCRM 3.0. We have tried the following but doesn't help: - Set macro security to LOW - Reprogrammed embedded worksheet form button to point to the full complete macro path - Clear browser cache What else to check? My setup is a windows 2003 SBS with CRM small business and exchange router. How does crm contacts differ from outlook contacts? If i add a contact under the crm section it seams to add it under the outlook contact section a minute or 2 later, does the crm contacts synch with outlook contacts? and also i can get the contact to pop up when i dial from a recognised number but it saves it under the outlook contact journal and not the crm, any ideas? thanks Tag: Change "from" address on marketing mail merge?     - Unable to search Accounts, message says 'No Attribute'? I'm having a problem with the search utility in CRM 3.0. When I try to perform a search on an account in the 'Active Accounts' View (whcih is set to the Default Public View) all I get when I click the 'Find' button is a message box that says 'No Attribute' with an OK button on it. The error started on a new Server and CRM install when I was trying to create an association between a custom entity and another entity. SQL Server took all the 2GB of ram and locked up the server. After about 5 minutes I paused SQL then Stopped it and then rebooted the server. When it came back up and I accessed CRM the above issue started. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.     - MAPS Upgrade to Open LIcence with software assurance? Does anyone know if this is possible? I am a MAPS user and have currently maxed out my 10 seat license for CRM 3.0. Is it possible to buy additional licenses for this? I am asking because i just bought a 5 user seat and a full media kit. The User licenses do not come with product ids. However, the media kit did. I tried entering the Product ID into the license manager for CRM, it says there already is a server license installed and it will nto let me add another.     - Product Mappings I am currently using standard out of the box fields for Products and notice that when I create a Quote and add in the Products the Product Description does not map over even though it is on the quote Product form. I do not see a way to create this mapping? Shouldn't standard functionality map these out of the box? I am not sure what that field is used for if it can't be populated ( it is read-only).     - Data Migration Wizard for Outlook Doesn't Recognize my BCM MDF My CRM environment is on 2 boxes. 1 for the CRM server and 1 for SQL 2005. 1) Copied my SQL DB over to the SQL Box as instructued 2) Attached the DB to SQL with the Query example provided 3) Invoked the Wizard on the CRM box 4) Passed all tests before being presented a dialog for the MDF 5) Pointed to the MDF file on the SQL box as requested (UNC path to MDF file) 6) Modal error message "Select a valid Outlook with Business Contact Manager database" 7) Tried copying the MDF and LDF files over to teh CRM box, but the same thing happens.     - CRM Mobile 3 - Incoming phone calls We just installed the CRM mobile solution on pocket pc's phone edition (WM5) with our CRM 3.0 system. Synchronizing contacts works fine and outcalls to this contacts work also fine. Now I'm wondering how to get information about incoming calls from crm contacts.     - Desktop Client Error We have recently implemented MS CRM 3.0 with the CRM-Outlook client (on-line mode). Whenever I have Outlook open, I am frequently annoyed by the following error message dialog: "This record is read-only in Microsoft CRM. Changes will not be synchronized to the Micrsoft CRM system." Other team members experienced this same message initially, but then it stopped for them. However, I continue to get this message. Note the following: 1. I have CRM - Administrator rights 2. Using CRM 3.0 3. Using Exchange 2003 5. Installed on-line version of CRM-Outlook 4. Have checked/un-checked "Use Cached Exchange Mode" in Outlook Email Account. This change did not fix the problem. I would like to suggest the "from" address on an e-mail merge be changeable.
Perhaps Microsoft can allow users to send using one of the alternate e-mail
addresses defined in Exchange. If not, I am sure a lot of businesses would
prefer to send out a corporate newsletter or other correspondence using a
generic or company e-mail address.
