What are the restrictions of CRM version 4 in regards to promoting emails
that may contain embedded images such as company logos.

I had a user try to complete a set regarding on an email to an opportunity.
She recieved an error "Error attempting to promte item to CRM." No
attachments, but there was an image that Outlook refused to download, so in
the images place it said something like 300 dpi and the usual red X when an
image will not download.

I opened the email message, right clicked, choose "edit message", deleted
the image placeholder, saved, and then the message promoted without any
issues.

Just curious what CRM doesnt like when it comes to images in emails?

I have the same problem in CRM 3.0, with our e-mail signature that contains a
72 dpi image. Only, it happens with some users and not with others.
We have not yet figured out the problem, but I thought I'd add this to
complete the picture.

There can be a problem with attachments and tracking in CRM. Have a look at
this knowledgebase document. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/933234

occuring on a clean installed CRM 4.0 system.
