    - Email activities should not be closed when received in CRM Hi Mister Microsoft, I think the "this is by design" way to go with the emails being automatically put on the "closed" status when received in CRM through the Exchange Router is not the good approach and I'll explain why: - Most of our clients want to be able to quantify the amount of work done on a particular category for emails, tasks, phone calls, etc. - These clients are HR services in very big institutions and this kind of "quantify" information is very important for them - Actually, when somenone sends an email to a Microsoft CRM user, this email goes through the Exchange Router and arrives in CRM: good; but the main problem is that since this email is not categorized, the person who takes care of it has to categorize it after it has been received! And he/she can't! I think emails should be on "open" status since they receive it and they have to treat it and then, once the action is complete, close it! Due to the massive improvements we have got, we are in the process of implementing at all of our client sites.     - Subreports don't display in CRM report viewer I have a report that displays a series of subreports. This works fine when I deploy it manually but when I deploy it through CRM none of the subreports are uploaded, therefore they don't display. This is true of an image on the report as well. IF I look at the catalog in the ReportServer database I can see that the manually deployed report is accompanied by the graphic and the subreports in the Catalog table. The additional items are all marked as hiden=true as expected. However when I look at the same report deployed via CRM there is only a record in this table for the report itself and no hidden entries for any of the referenced subreports and graphic.     - Startup Error with the CRM 3.0 Outlook Client For the past two days, my CRM users are getting an error when they first try to access CRM from Outlook. The error says -- An error has occurred. For more information, contact your system administrator. After restarting Outlook twice, they are able to use CRM without issue. Does anyone know why this error is happening and how I can fix it?     - Check Box Creates Null value I have a number of check boxes on a form for which the attributes' default value is no (a value of 0). When the record is created, all check boxes are empty. If the user checks it, the answer is yes (a value of 1). HOWEVER the database value is NULL if I never check the box. The only way I can get a value of 0 is if I check and un-check the box. This problem does not surface if my form is formatted using two radio buttons. This makes the advanced find ineffective.     - Accounts Corrupt I have two accounts with 100+ contacts. The Activities, History, Opportunities, Quotes, Orders, Invoices, Cases, and Contracts links are all generating excpetion errors when accessed. I tried merging the records with new ones.     - CRM to Excel basics CRM 3.0 and SQL 2005 server are running in the same machine at an active domain different than the active domain from which i'm connecting to the CRM through my client computer. Both computers are in the same private network though. When attempting to export data to a dynamic table i get a failed login error: 18452 saying the user is not a trusted connection. Then it allows me to change the user and password to reattempt the connection, i try the system administrator SQL account (sa) with it's password and the error goes away, however no data is brought from the CRM. All in all, i'm sure i'm missing steps into configuring the client machine and the CRM server so i can export dynamic tables from the CRM. My question is: What are the steps necessary to configure the CRM - Excel dynamic table integration from a client computer in the same network but different domain than the CRM/SQL server. Tahnk you!     - Options missing after install Outlook client tools I am using CRM 3. I am a backup admin and after installing the Outlook tools for CRM on my machine the settings option to the bottom left is gone so I can't change any of the settings and also the calendar option is gone from the upper left side of the screen.     - 401.1 errors At first, only users who were members of the Domain Admin group could access the CRM server. After a reboot of workstations and server, now no one can connect. Whenever I attempt to connect to CRM, I am asked for my login information (three time) and then I receive a 401.1 error.     - Access Denied 401 Greetings, I am new to CRM and to IIS. CRM 1.2 on SBS 2003. Originally installed 18 months ago but not used. I logged into the server and selected the CRM link in SharePoint. I was immediately logged on as the CRM administrator. I opened a web page and typed: http://crm I was prompted for a Login. I entered Username and Password of a licensed user and I received: ****You are not authorized to view this page**** You do not have permission to view this directory or page using the credentials that you supplied because your Web browser is sending a WWW-Authenticate header field that the Web server is not configured to accept.     - CRM3.0 Integration Connector with GP Hello All, Does anyone know if there is an automatic way of producing XSD schemas for CRM 3.0 that is acceptable for the Integration server for CRM 3.0? The documentation says that it has to be in the 1.2 format for the integration to work properly, and has to use the namespace: "http://www.microsoft.com/mbs/crm/schemas/2004". The same documentation directs you to a URL to get the standard XSD schemas for CRM 1.2 but they actually have another namespace in them. It goes on to say that when adding new attributes to the CRM entities, that you add the new attributes to the XSD manually. It appears that you have to do a lot of manual XML authoring. That seems very error prone. Does anyone have any suggestions? Also does anyone know if any other resources for information on the CRM 3.0 Integration with GP?     - Upgrade Advisor 1.2 to 3.0 fails, schemaname invalid We are in process to upgrade a customer installation from 1.2 to 3.0. The customer has himself done few adoptions in 1.2 and created additional attributes to the entity account. The problem is one of these attributes which contains a "Umlaut" (Ã?) which is a German alphabet and this seems to be causing the problem in the Upgrade advisory. We are halted by this problem and need to find a work-around to this. Any one had the same problem? any idea how we can work around this issue? Is this a known problem?     - CRM 3.0 Slow Performance Hi, I have been getting negative feedback from all users in our office regarding CRM3 slow response and people are going to give up using it. I need to give a solution to the team and wondering if anyone could help? We are running on SBServer2003 network and have CRM3 installed on a seperate 2003 Windows Server with SQL2000 Server installed. The CRM server is Xeon Dual 2.8Ghz, with 2GB ram, Raid 10 SCSI HDD and only have CRM running. I don't know where to start to find out why it is slow... any suggestion? If upgrading the hardware would help, we will do it, but I doubt this will help as we checked the CPU usage, Ram usage, and network usage, they all have plenty of rooms to move.     - Workflow Help I had a workflow rule working fine and now it won't work. I think someone has accidently changed it. What Im trying to do is, adapt a fax number from the fax field to a new field called efax and convert it to an email fax.     - Reactivating case does not assign to owner's queue The CRM 3.0 documentation states in the article "Managing Cases": "When a case is reopened, it bypasses the routing mechanism and is assigned directly to the CSR who owned the case when it was resolved and appears in the CSR's Workplace in his or her In Progress folder. The CSR reactivates the case and continues to work on it until it is resolved. " This statement is confusing - it mentions the case being reopened and reactivated as if they were seperate actions. But more importantly, when a case is reactivated by another user, it does not appear in In Progress folder of the case owner at all. In our organisation, cases are often reactivated in response to incoming customer emails. The task of reactivating the case is not carried out by the owner of the case. The team member who reactivates the case needs to Assign it to the case owner, even if the owner hasn't changed, for the case to appear in the owner's Assigned queue. If they do not, the case will appear in the "My active cases" view. This makes the Assigned and In Progress folders useless, as they do not show all active cases belonging to the user. Has anyone else encountered this issue? It was one of our biggest complaints about CRM 1.2, and it doesn't seem to have changed in 3.0. Tag: Budget Approval Tag: 65050

    - Can't add a service I'm trying to create a service. I name the rule. Add a selection rule and a resource. I then save and exit. When I go back to the Service, first I get a message saying that the record is unavailable or I don't have permission. I close the msg box and look at the resoureces tab. The selection rule is gone.     - CRM customization I am trying to build a dataset using C# on fetching accounts. I need to define a primary key on the dataset, so I can search on the basis of the primary key. When I use the fetch, I get this violation. When I do a direct call to sql server, I am able to acheive my result.     - Filling in description field with info from a lookup using onchang Some background... I work for an IT company and I have been assigned the task of setting up CRM for Help Tickets. We are using "Cases" as our main form and using this to record the problems. On the case form I have "Account" lookup field, and i know the Account has a "Primary Contact" associated with it. But alot of the time the call will be in reference to another person at the company that we creat a "Contact" for. So I added another field on the "Case" form "responsiblecontactid". Know what i want to do is add an OnChange on the "responsiblecontactid" that when it is set (lookup style to pick a contact) that the firstname lastname and email of the contact are put into the description field. I thought i could use somethign like this but it didnt work. For budget approval in marketing automation, how does it work? Suppose in
order to approve the budget, there are some levels that need to approve first
before passing to higher level. How can CRM accomodate this?
