    - Next Scheduled Release in February 2007? At Convergence last Spring the CRM team repeated numerous times that they were on a rapid development and release schedule and that partner and customers should look forward to a release in February 2007. I don't see any documentation about what's in store for 2007 -- though I have learned more from colleagues who resell SalesForce.com about what's in store for that CRM solution.     - Provide a better upgrade path with Business Contact Manager Hi, my suggestion is to provide a better upgrade path between Business Contact Manager and MS CRM. Small business owners that use BCM will want to upgrade to CRM as they grow. Looking at the blogs and postings, there seems to be a lot of problems migrating data from one to the other. I thought it would be great if I could just drag and drop a contact from BCM to the leads folder or contacts folder and have it add a record automatically.     - CRM V3.0 on SBS prem cannot access reports Hi.. currently have an issue with MS CRM with regard to accessing reports. from both client machine and server i cannot access reports. from within CRM i get "error.. An error has occurred. For more information, contact your system administrator." if i try to go to http://localhost/reports i get "The request failed with HTTP status 403: Forbidden" have looked on MS site and googled without much success.     - Bulk email aborted from quick campaign Folks, Have done an Advanced Find and from there created a bulk email Quick Campaign. (590 recipients/contacts) after clicking on Create screen closes after a short pause but the campaign shows 0 success 0 failed Status Reason Aborted. (error: 0x8004023b in description) If I do the same with a subset of 7 contacts it works fine. (ie emails to all seven are sent out) Any suggestions?     - Recipient Address Deleted When some of our users send e-mails from their laptops with CRM installed (laptop version) and the e-mail is tracked in CRM, sometimes the recipient e-mail addresses in the to field are deleted after the send button is pushed! The e-mail will go to people they've CCed and will appear in their sent items with the addresses deleted. This means they need to check every e-mail they send.     - Error in Sales Process upon automatic email to user group When an opportunity is created, the sales process automatically fires off. When a particular task is completed, it is written that an email is to be automatically sent to a user group defined in the setup. For two particular users in our pilot group, the email does not automatically send and an error is generated for the task. I cannot recreate the issue. I have tried creating an opportunity and assigning it to that user, then going through the stages of the sales process. I do not get the error. There are other users in the same office who can create opportunities and they do not get the error and the email is automatically sent to the user group specified. I cannot view the error. When I try to open the task in which the error occurs, I receive an "Insufficient Permissions" error. I am set up as a System Administrator. I am at a loss. There does not seem to be a rhyme or reason as to why this is happening only for a couple of people. The other people in the office are set up with the same Roles as the two having issues.     - Quick Find Activites I had a query regarding the quick find associated with the activity entity in MS-CRM 3.0 We have added the due date as a find field for the Quick Find View and published I have some records whose due date falls on 22/11/2007 and some records whose due date is 22/11/2206 I have CRM date format as dd/mm/yyyy In the Quick Find when I enter a date as 11/22, it enters all the records whose records have the due date as 22/11/2006. If I have to retrieve the record whose due date is 22/11/2007, I will have to enter the date as 22/11/2007.     - Account Merging Problem.. Hi All, We currently have problem in merging Account. When we merge account, the new UI will be displayed for us to choose which field we want to merge.     - Routed Mails not appearing in CRM I have the exchange router installed, to send mail to CRM and have deployed a rule to a user. When mail is sent to this user, the mail is forwarded to the sink mailbox (crmmail) and it then dissapears from the sink mailbox, but it never appears in CRM. No errors appear in the event log.     - Search from value to value on text fields I have a suggestion concerning search on text fields. Fx the zipcode field. In Denmark we often want to search for an interval fx 5000 to 5999. This isn't possible on Text fields in CRM. You have to create a search with a lot of OR's in AX it is possible to use the syntax 5000..5999.     - Remove an entire Business Unit and corresponding data from MS CRM database We created a 2nd installation of MS CRM and copied over our entire database to the new installation. However, we would like to remove/extract all of the activities, leads, contacts, accounts, opportunities that are not connected to Business Unit that the new installation was intended for (for the last 18 mos, I created a parent entity with two child business units.. now one of the child business units will be its own entity with separate licenses, domain, network, users, etc). We probably erroneously copied over the entire database to the new installation of CRM (with disabled users from the old business unit). However, I would now like to remove ALL of the old business unit data since it occupies approx 95% of the database. Action Microsoft.Crm.Setup.Server.GrantDatabaseAccessAction failed. ---> Microsoft.Crm.Setup.Common.SetupException: Setup could not complete this action. This might be due to the fact that there are multiple Domain Controllers and they have not replicated new Microsoft CRM information yet. If this is the case you have several options: 1. Go to the domain controller and manually force synchronization. 2. Wait 15 minutes (typically) until the domain controller synchronizes automatically. 3. Click Retry a few times until Setup finds a different domain controller that has the Microsoft CRM information. ---> System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException: Windows NT user or group '<DomainName>\SQLAccessGroup {f88103ca-b3f1-4405-bc07-ed5261e75bc3}' not found. Check the name again. To add here, we installed SQL server using local administrator when we first try to install CRM server then we changed login to administrator of domain for MSSQLServer service but still we are getting same problem. and '<DomainName>\SQLAccessGroup {f88103ca-b3f1-4405-bc07-ed5261e75bc3}' group is present and it was created by CRM setup only.     - Different rate levels I want to create a custom entity for charge out rates that I can set for a service activity. This is getting a bit complicated as: - 1 case can have more than 1 service activity (usually just 1, but can be 2 or 3) - Each service activity may have more than 1 technician - Technicians can be billed at different rates depending on their role (i.e. engineer, electrician etc) - Customers are billed at different rates according to their service contract level Using suggestions from an old post (http://groups.google.com.au/group/microsoft.public.crm/browse_thread/thread/3b06075e30a509f2?hl=en), I was planning to generate reports on billable time and use a custom entity for my rates. However, due to my many different levels of rates, I don't think 1 lookup will really do the trick. It would be good if I could create entities for each different contract level, then be able to select which entity to point to in the lookup (like when you are setting the Regarding field in Task etc forms, you can pick between Accounts, Contacts, Opportunites, Lead etc). This would just keep it cleaner so I don't have to use a long descriptive name for each rate. Any thoughts? I'm also a bit confused as to how CRM determines the total billable time by adding up the duration of the service activities etc, and I want to be able to take into account the possibility of using more than 1 person on a service activity, as well as incorporate travel time into the duration.     - scribe act to crm adapter, migration time I see that Scribe released an Act 2005/2006 adapter for their Insight product on 11/06. Has anyone used this yet and can report how well it works? I'm looking to migrate about 13k contacts, 500 companies, notes, activities from Act 2005 to MS CRM 3.     - PLease help CRM Data Migration Framework not migrating any records Hi all I populated my cdf_<Entity> and cdf<Entity>_Info tables using a .net app and verified that the record counts in both tables were matching for each of the entities i.e Contact, Leads, Account etc but when I run the data migration framework to move the data from the cdf)<Entity> tables into the CRM tables it does not move any data but alos does not return an error . I checked the log and for each record that it tried to migrate it returns a status saying failed to migrate but no reason. I am running out of ideas as to why this is happening .     - Emails containing emails as attachments Hello all - I've got a mildly irritating problem with CRM 3.0: Customers occasionally send us an email that contains another email as an attachment. Using Outlook, you can see - and open - this attachment in the incoming Exchange mailbox, but the copy that is sent to the CRM system (using the email router) arrives without the attachment. The application must be invoked from inside the CRM, get some account and quote information from the quote the user currently works on, make it's calculations and save the price back in the quote. Of course, porting the VB 6.0 app to .NET is not an option at this moment. I have read some articles about calling WebServices from VB 6.0 and I ended up that the best way to do it is by creating a .NET, COM-enabled, proxy application which will expose the CRM WebService to VB 6.0 (and not the SOAP 3.0 toolkit). I have also made some attempts to do it, but no success so far.     - CRM 3.0 Reporting errors, unable to access externally Installed CRM 3.0 on SQL 2005 SP1 on Windows SBS 2003 SP1, and am unable to get the reporting features to work. When viewing the http://server:5555 and clicking on reports, I get a popup "Error An error has occurred. For more information, contact your system administrator." I am able to access the /reports and /reportserver folders. I have done days worth of tinkering, research, reinstalls, and have not been able to get this working.     - Completing Appointments Am I correct in seeing that if an appointment is created in Outlook and attached to CRM (so that the appointment shows both places, and has a reminder alert set in Outlook), that the reminder can't be turned off via CRM, and the appointment can't be closed via Outlook. I want to add a tab on the form for Accounts, no problem with this I can do this. I want to add to that new tab 6 attributes that I have created these are: contract number contract description start date end date date created We have bought the Scribe software so I would be looking to bulk populate those six fields with data extracted from another system, in a CSV format. So my questions are: 1. I wanted the 6 attributes presented in a row like headings but it would seem that the most I can have is 3 coulmns? 2. The CSV extract may have the same account number 4 times but there would be say 4 different contract numbers. Is there a way that on the new tab, the contracts tab I could show this data? some account codes may have 6 contracts and other just the one. I hope that this makes sense. I am trying to reduce every possible keystroke and this will eliminate 2. My issue is that CRM fires it's validity check on the date field before the onchange event.     - Authentication (install) problem Hi, When the CRM is installed on the APPSRV server, users can not login automatically or via the login screen to CRM. In more details: The environment: Windows 2003 domain controllers: DC1 and DC3; SQL 2000 server: DBASE; crm server:APPSRV. The installation completes without any error, and I can login as CRMADMIN into CRM on the crmserver (APPSRV). Workflow monitor and manager also work OK. If I login to an XP workstation with the same user (crmadmin) and specify http://appsrv:5555/ in IE6, I got a login window - where I enter the correct DOMAINNAME\crmadmin username and password - and got the following message: "You are not authorized to view this page"..."HTTP Error 401.1 - Unauthorized.... Finally I uninstalled CRM 3.0 from APPSRV and installed with the same parameters to the SPSSRV machine. It is also a W2003 server in the above environment. Everything works as it should! I use the outlook interface to send emails and link them to the CRM to keep
records. this is fine. However, when I open a recorded email within the CRM,
it is the CRM editor which is used. I found it very very poor. Is there a way
to use within CRM the outlook email editor?
