    - Appointment Activities Our Sales department is experiencing difficulties using the Appointment activity in CRM. Sometimes the Appointment is scheduled and they include other CRM users on things like Webexes or conference calls and the appointment does not populate their outlook calendars. How do we get the appointments to populate all internal users calendars, not just the one who schedules it?     - Having account inherit child entity of lead upon conversion Hi All, I am new to this group so forgive me if this is an easy one. I am creating a custom entity on the lead and when we convert the lead to the account, I want the newly created account to inherit that entity and its contents where it was related to that specific lead. Example: Lead: John Smith has the custom entity 'services' related to him. There are 3 records of services related to Johm, i.e. Phone, DSL, Satellite. When I convert John to an account, i want John's account to have the three services in their exact form related to the account. I also need to come up with some way to 'remove' the services entity from John Smith the lead, or disable them, so that there are no confusing duplications. THANKS!     - Reporting Services Performance Hi: Are there a way to improve the RS preformance?. Because, when i tried to print the quote report in the client, the time average was 3 minutes, and this is too much. An important information is that the quote report have a picture (.jpg) of 200 KB.     - How to disallow creating Sales Order from Opportunity? In CRM, you can create a new sales order directly from an opportunity record or even from scratch. Since both the opportunity field and the quote field are mandatory, user will be required to specify them. However, it leaves too much room for potential data integrity error since a quote is already associated with an opportunity, but user could possibly pick a quote and an opportunity simply not related to each other.     - Queues and Owners Hi All, I have perhaps a basic question about queues that I hope someone could answer. We are an accounting firm, and we are hoping that CRM 3 can help us track our various activities better and more efficiently. I have customized the Sales Activity Entity for this purpose. The goal is to track our work by user (e.g., tax returns, bookkeeping, payroll processing, etc.) However, I would also like to be able to track it by queue. In other words, I would like to be able to track the status of work by user (or client by selecting them and their active work). But I would also like to see the status of work activities by queues. I have setup the following queues: 1) Tax Returns Queue 2) Accounting Queue 3) Payroll Queue 4) Fax Queue (note: will be used down the line, but not at the moment) When entering a Sales Activity entry, I would like to allow the data inputer to select which queue it should be assigned. The Resources field is used to determine who will be working on the activity. It seems like the Sales Activity has to be saved first, then re-opened to assign to a queue. Hello, Is there a possiblility to synchronize CRM3.0 contacts to an Exchange public folder? -> Functionality should be similar to that that is provided with the crm3.0 Outlook CRM synchronization features, but this feature always only syncs the selected CRM contacts to the standard/personal "contacts" folder.     - Specifying allotments in a contract line I have a problem being able to specify the allotments for a service (based on hours as the base unit) in a contract line. The field for specifying the number of hours for a contract line is greyed out, and is automatically allocated 1 hour on save. I think this is because I have set-up the product incorrectly, but have been unable to find enough info on how this should be done. What I have done is the following: 1. Set up a product called service. 2. Given the service a base unit of hours. 3. Used a service template called Service for the contract. What I am trying to do is the following: A contract for a client consists of X hours of service per annum, purchased on anniversary. I want to be able to track the number of hours each customer has remaining after dealing with their queries (using a 'case' in CRM). Unfortunately CRM does not let me specify how many hours to allot to a contract line. Can someone please tell me what I am doing wrong??     - Tracking tokens & System Generated Emails Email in CRM works good, create a lead, send email activity to external and internal emails... but.... is there anyway you can turn off the system generated emails but retain the tracking token assigned to these email?     - Should I switch from ACT to Microsoft CRM? We are currently using ACT professional for our crm. The Windows version is great but our sales team have to use the web version which they access via our VPN. This is incredibly slow so we are looking at switching to Dynamics CRM. The reason for this is that we all use and like Outlook and we are hoping that by using Outlook web access, the performance will be significantly faster for our sales teams at various locations. Does anyone have any experience on the speed and performance of using Dynamics CRM with Outlook web access?     - Service Calendar Hi, I am an administrator on CRM and a domain admin on my domain. Whenever I click on Service Calendar I get an error saying that the record that I am requesting is currently unavailable. Whenever I try to then create an appointment, I get the same error as well as a general failure in scheduling engine error. The appointments still save.     - Sample Data Users - Logging in? Ive set up the CRM and so the dm staff here can evaluate it installed the sample data. I mae the required users in active directory and it all installed fine. The issue im having is that when people go to the web client it automatially logs them in as the windows user. I know i can create the staff so they can use the crm with thier own username but i want them to be able to t log in as the sample users and see what is restricted, what they see etc. Does anyone know how i can get ie to ask users for a login? Firefox asks for a login but it fails and wont log in correctly.     - Service Time in Cases It sounds like many people have been hammering away at this question. I was hoping someone actually had an answer In Cases... When I add a service activity...do the work...and then close the activity. It seems CRM has its own ideas of the amount of time spent. eg. I schedule a service activity for 11:00AM and ending at 11:15AM...CRM show this as 30 minutes when I resolve it. Sometimes it looks like it tracks the actual time I spent??!!     - Attribute Owner ID hi I am very very new to CRM. Have never used it before so this could be a simple question but would appreciate an answer:) There is a field called ownerid in the Customer form under the administration tab.     - Problem converting Leads When I convert a lead to a contact, account and opportunity from a lead that was manually created, it creates the opportunity under the contact, which is what I want. The problem arises when I convert a lead to a contact, account and opportunity from an imported lead. The opportunity is created within the account and not the contact. Even if I go to the contact and create a lead manually the opportunity does not show up within my open opportunities window. This issue only happens with imported leads.     - CRM query a view Ill explain it, you tell me what im doing wring.... I want to write a custom page for crm that loads up in an IFrame. Its in a tab on the CASE window. it is SAPOSE to query the "FilteredTask" view and return all the tasks for that case. I pass it the case ID(guid) no problem there.. I can query tables no problem there either, but when it comes to querying the view (filteredTask) if returns empty. The WHOLE point of this is to have a page that i can print out with a signature line on the bottom that conatins account information (account name address, etc), case (incident) information, AND (the most important) a complete list of work done on that case (phone calls, tasks etc) The reason i need the VIEW and dont want to just query the table is well because the VIEW does all that other nifty stuff like check if something is deleted etc. I also have custome text fields that need to be included... I am an old style ASP guy just learning dot-net so be easy.     - How do I change default attribute values from with in SQL Metabase I need to change a bunch of bit defaults from yes to no and was hoping to do it from within Enterprise Manager quickly instead of going in and out of every field withing CRM. Anyone know the table I need to look at where this is stored?     - Can not login to crm after upgrade from 1.2 to 3.0 After some stuggling i got the install of crm 3.0 working. i needed to do quite some changes to the system to do the upgrade but at the end i got no error reports and the install went without any problems. but now it is running none of the previous users can login to crm, even me as administrator is unable to do so. when i try to go to the user management i get an error that i don't have enough permissions to open or that the site is unavailable. the last one isn't it since the site is up and when i browse i get an error stating that i do not have enough permissions to access it.     - CRM database collation question Hello, In our CRM 3.0 test environment, I see that the CRM database collation is Latin1_General_CI_AS. However, our SQL 2005 box has the collation SQL_Latin1_General_CI_AS at the server level. Now, if I were to write a query such as the following: Select t.*, s.FullName From [customdatabase]..sometemptable t join OrgName_MSCRM..SystemUser s on t.username = s.DomainName I get the following error: cannot resolve the collation conflict between Latin1_General_CI_AS and SQL_Latin1_General_CI_AS in the equal to operation. So, I set my customdatabase collation to match the CRM database "Latin1_General_CI_AS" but still get the error. Our 1.2 installation has collation of SQL_Latin1_General_CI_AS (1.2 was installed before I joined this company). Is that the default for CRM 1.2?     - CRM and AD Credentials, What Level of Access? We have a consultant that does a lot of reporting and configuration of our CRM install. Right now this user is in the Domain Admins group! I'm not comfortable with that (in fact it already led to a time consuming mistake) and I'd like to grant them the full ability to do their work, but prevent them from accessing objects and componenents that they don't need, (like for example, the "disable" feature of the NIC :) ) Can someone direct me as the objects or systems upon which I must grant full access so that I can take them out of the Domain Admin group without interfering with their ability to do thier work? Go to advanced find for contacts. Add a condition on one of the contact
fields.
Add a filter for Parent Customer (Account), and add a filter on one of
it's fields.

try to uninstall the hotfix KB918899 under controlpanel --> software
or install this hotfix (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/911394/en-us)
