When creating a filter for Account in Advanced Find, there is no field for
Classification in the dropdown list. Could this be a CRM error or am I
looking over the obvious?
Thanks

Assuming MS CRM 3.0

The first thing is to check the form to figure out what field it is in the
back end.

Send the list back what actual field name you are looking for so we can
check if we can search it in our systems. (If it is a custom field it should
show up in the advanced find if you have published)

Then check in attributes section and look up that field to see what its
displayed name is.

The display name is what should show up in the list in advanced find to
query on. It should show up. There are some fields that you are not able to
search on using advanced find. If none of us cann search on the field you
are lookign to search on then it is either a bug or by design that you cannot
search that field.

The field display name is Classification. The form field name is
Classification. The attribute schema name is accountclassificationcode.
Classification nor accountclassificationcode show up in the Advanced Find
dropdown list when filtering Accounts.
Thanks for looking into this.

this issue. Here is the link and the contents of it.

Installation information
Note This hotfix contains both client and server fixes. Only the server fix
is required on computers that are running Microsoft CRM 3.0 server.

install this hotfix on all client computers that open Microsoft CRM. To do
this, follow these steps: 1. Start Internet Explorer.
2. On the Tools menu, click Options.
3. On the General tab, click Delete Files.
4. Click to select the Delete all offline content check box. Then
click OK.

After you install this hotfix, take any of the following additional actions
that are appropriate for your situation: . If you want to change the
selection of fields that are visible in the Advanced Find feature, follow
these steps: 1. In Microsoft CRM, click Settings, click Customization, click
Customize Entities, and then double-click the entity that contains the field
that you want to change in the Advanced Find feature.
2. Click Attributes, click the attribute that you want to
change, click More Actions, and then click Edit.
Note The Searchable picklist field appears on the Attribute Web
page.
3. Click Yes to make the field searchable in the Advanced Find
feature. Click No to make the field not searchable in the Advanced Find
feature.

. If you have added the Microsoft.crm.MetadataService.dll file to the
Global Assembly Cache (GAC), follow these steps to correctly install this
hotfix: 1. On the Microsoft CRM server, click Start, point to All Programs,
point to Administrative Tools, and then click Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1
Configuration.
2. In the navigation pane, click Assembly Cache.
3. Click View List of Assemblies in the Assembly Cache.
4. Right-click the Microsoft.crm.MetadataService assembly, and
then click Delete.

. If you have customizations that require the
Microsoft.Crm.MetadataService.dll to be added to the GAC, follow these steps
in Windows Explorer.

Notes . If you follow these steps, customizations will work without
adding .dll files to the GAC.
. These steps are not required to install this hotfix.
1. On the Microsoft CRM server, make a backup of the Web.config
file. Save the backup copy of the file to a different folder.
Note The Web.config file is located in the main Microsoft CRM

click Notepad.
3. Locate and then delete the following text.
