    - Custom entity extremely slow to load in browser... ...but not in Outlook The custom entities I have created that have more than 50 or so records seem to take forever to load in the browser when I'm looking at a view of "All Active Custom_Entity". It takes up to two or three minutes, browser actually goes into (Not Responding) condition, then finally loads. When I look at the same type of view through the Outlook client it loads within a couple of seconds. This is using the Desktop/Connected version of Outlook, so it's not pulling from a local/offline database on the client.     - Script to calculate money value in field Hi Does anyone know of a script that allows you to muliple one field by another.     - IIS Internal Server Error (500) when installing Hi all, I am testing the CRM v3 on a newly installed computer with Active Directory in native mode, IIS, SQL 200 and Exchange 2000 on Windows Server 2003 sp1. When I reach the System Requirements page (Verification Descriptions and Results) I get an "Error accessing URL http://SERVER: The remote server returned an error (500) Internal Server Error IIS is correctly installed on the server, if I type http://server I get the default "Under construction" page, I don't use host headers and don't have any other virtual web configured.     - Track in CRM (3): Sometimes work, sometimes does not Hi there!! SET-UP: Outlook 2003 CRM 3 client for LAPTOP I have a user that seems to have encounter a strange problem... When he click on the "TRACK IN CRM" button in an open email, he sometimes get an error message, but sometimes he doesn't. The error is; "An error occured promoting this item to Microsoft CRM. The Microsoft CRM server could not be contacted or the user has insufficient permissions to perform this action." I doubt very much that it is a question of permission, the user having administrator role on the CRM. Anyone as a "hint" of where I can look to troubleshoot this challenge, or the solution to it.     - SQL 2000 Reporting Service/Reports on MS CRM 3 web - allowing for FQDN? Hi, A bit of background. We have a deployment of CRM 3.0 installed and working fine on our Windows 2003 CRM server in a Windows 2003 AD. Still having problems with clients on Outlook (PC's are not a member of a domain), but playing with the web-based interface for now. Got a problem with the Reports part of CRM - this is based on the standard Reporting Services for SQL Server 2000 (SP4) - hence I've sent to public.sqlserver groups also. Clicking on Reports in CRM web takes you to the list of available reports fine, but when you try to 'Run report', it returns a 401. I know why this is happening, and a basic workaround proves it, but am looking for a decent server-side resolution. We have an AD (e.g. domain.com), with CRM/SQL installed on a box within a child domain (comp.domain.com). However, our web caching, proxy, DNS for the root of the our domain (domain.com) is not handled by the AD, its handled by our Unix/Sun guys. If we connect to the CRM reports via the web on an AD member PC, 'Run report' works fine for each report because it knows that our CRM/SQL Reporting server (sake of example called crm1), is in the domain, and that its Windows hosts name is http://crm1 ( = http://crm1.comp.domain.com). The problem is calling the reports from a non domain member fails with a 401 because it tries to call http://crm1 (i.e. no FQDN), and thus goes to our Unix-based domain/DNS and tries to resolve to http://crm1.domain.com, not crm1.comp.domain.com. Hence it fails. I've proved that if I bung a hosts entry in C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\etc\hosts to resolve crm1 to the IP, it corrects the problem, but we don't want to have to maintain host files in our total IP-based network, and our CRM deployment might eventually have >1000 clients - some on domain, others not, some on trusted domains, some remote users. I might be able to get our Unix/Sun bods to some fiddle redirect their end, but would prefer to keep everything within our Windows set-up. Having looked at one of the reports in C:\Program Files\Microsoft CRM\Reports\MSCRM on our CRM/SQL server, e.g. "User Summary.rdl", we can see that the code for this report is calling the following variable: Parameters!CRM_serverURL.value Which is presumably pulling this from somewhere (SQL database? a config file in CRM? IIS?) and thats whats resolving it to http://crm1. The question is, does anyone know where this parameter is pulling its data from, because if so, can I change it to reflect http://crm1.comp.domain.com and thus ensure that the Reports section always uses the FQDN to work?     - CRM 3.0 Outlook client doesn't appear to synchronize behind the sc It appears that, while the CRM 3.0 client for Outlook should be synching behind the scenes, it is not. Explicit requests to synch still must be made from the Outlook interface. Furthermore, when the the client finds itself unexpectedly without connection to the CRM server, the date that is reflected in the message box that pops up confirms that the data you will be using offline is data that is from the last explicit synch date.     - 1.2 CRM - case rolling up to account level I noticed that when our Customer Support area creates a case and links this case to a Contact Record (the contact record in turn is linked to an Account Record) and they open up the associated Account record, click on the "Cases" tab, all cases linked to this account should be visible.     - Assigned cases in both "assigned" and in "progress queue"? In the training material for the service management course, there's a question about cases that are assigned to a user. The question is "where does a case go when it's assigned to a user?". According to the appendix, the correct answer is "the user's in progress queue" AND "the user's assigned queue". Is this really correct? When I assign a case to myself, it appears only in the "assigned" area, and after accepting, it's moved to the "in progress" area. Not in both as the training material says.     - Not able to send email directly from CRM... Using MS CRM 3.0 on SQL 2005. Email Router is installed on Exchange Server 2003. When I send an email from CRM, it goes to History record with Email ID however it is not actually transmitted to the recipient. I'm using the new Data Migration Pack for Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0. to import data from Microsoft Business Contact Manager into a new, clean, CRM 3.0 system.     - Reporting anyone ? I installed CRM 3.0 on 2 different SBS 2003 premium servers and on each one of them there seems to be a problem with the reports. When showing reports they many times show no data or there seems to be sub reports I can click and then they show some information. Some of the graphics aren't ok either.     - Tracking is not consistent We are using CRM 3.0 and tracking is not consistent, it works about 50%. Example, when I track new email to CRM(it shows as being tracked with CRM icon) and reply to it, next time when that person replys back to the same email (without changing subject line) 5 out of 10 times it does not show being tracked in CRM anymore. Is it just our company or that is abnormally? Is there some kind of hotfix available to fix it? Another thing- sometimes I can track email to CRM only if I track and save&close it.     - Change Opportunities Product functionality to match that of the qu It would be very useful to allow the Unit Price displayed within Opportunity Products as you can within the quotes area. We sell a number of application and services and these are priced on a deal by deal basis. Currently it looks like you have to create a Price List per Opportunity which adds additional steps to the process of creating valid opportuniites with adequate product analysis. We have added the ispriceoverridden field to the opportunity product form in an attempt to allow us to change the unit price for the product line. however the form does not then allow the unit price to be over-ridden. I notice the unit price ends up as 0.00. Is there something I have missed? Do I need to add an event to the field? We would also like to have product write-in functionality within opportunities as in the quotes system. Is this possible in MS CRM v3.0.     - Deployment Manager hangs when attempting to publish Hi, I've a problem with publishing changes using Deployment Manager. This morning I am having a problem with chosing an IIS web serwer on crm. I go through Object publisher in Deployment Manager->All tasks-> Publish, select the catagories and hit next. The next window does not have my server or any server listed, so I hit browse(which I believe is what I have had to do in the past). A new window appears that states: searching for CRM Server (Name).     - Small Business vs. Professional for accounting integration When I bought CRM, I was told I had to buy Professional to get the accounting integration. I run Small Business Server, and the Professional won't install on it, only the Small Business version (even though I have the Professional discs). So I just inquired, and found out that Small Business will work w/the upcoming accounting integration. (and is actually better b/c it integrates the faxing) I'm a little bummed that I had to buy a much more expensive product that I didn't need (& at the time, couldn't use). For example, account/businesstypecode (http://{yourCRMserver}/sdk/list.aspx) is an important search criterion for accounts. For my organization (and I assume for others too) it is mandatory to be able to separate these business types for campaigns, lists, etc. For now, I told our CRM users that they have to sort the results by business type and than scroll to their desired business typeâ?¦ (What is an unacceptable and limiting stateâ?¦).     - unhandled error accessing reports through CRM 3.0 Menu with a lot of effort to customize and deploy meaningful data to it, We have a demo setup up and running. Unfortunately later we realized that accessing Reports through CRM creates an error, but accessing Reports directly through the Browser works just fine. So it seems that there is a problem in ReportServer configuration within CRM3.0 installation. But no idea where to look for it, we don't want also to setup the crm server again. Sitemap looks to be okay. The problem is isolated, as it seems to be with the URL configuration, we access CRM Reports directly through IE as follow: http://crmserver/ReportServer and works fine even though the CRM Website is crmserver:5555. and accessing Reports through the CRM3.0 Menubar (Workplace) results to an error.     - Downloading Sales Literature - format is defaulting to HTML I have 1 sales rep who cannot download our sales literature in the correct format? If it's a PDF, DOC, PPT, etc when he does a right click and save target as the format is always HTML? This is not happening to any other users. I had him try from his laptop and then one of my Windows 2000 Terminal servers with the same results. I am running 1.2. Any ideas? I initially thought it was his toolbar add-ons for google, but disabling did not do the trick, and that was confirmed when he had the same problem on the terminal server.     - Database access within an IFRAME Hi all, I'm quite new to Microsoft CRM, and I have the following problem: I need to implement a custom application within CRM where I can display the accounts in a hierarchical structure as a tree view, for example. I found out that you can do such things by writing your own web application and integrating this application within an iframe into CRM. For this scenario, I need to access all account objects stored in the account entity, of course. How can I get access to the objects stored in the database from an aspx application?     - Outlook connectivity Hi I have a laptop installation of the Outlook client which locks up whenever you try to use any of the crm functionallity such as track in crm. It will not display any of the crm pages either. There is no error message or time out it just sits there and does nothing. I have uninstalled and reinstalled and this fixed it for a short preiod but a day later and I have the same problem. It is working fine on another machine though with the same installation so I am of the opinion there must be something wrong with a local settings but can not find anything as yet. Any suggections ?     - Migrating data using DMF into custom entity Hi, I have 3 custom entities to migrate in addition to a few system entities (accounts, contacts, tasks...). My custom entities are join to system entities. I wanted to migrate data using the DMF but I believe the data migration framework doesn't deal with custom entity. How can I migrate my data? Is it possible to change the DMF manually easily so I can insert my data? Can I use a dts package for these 3 additional tables? Do I have to develop something with the sdk from scratch? I created a new attribute and placed it on the Phone Call form. I want to
use this new attribute as a search criterion in Advanced Find, but the
attribute does not show up in the Advanced Find Field list. Is it not
possible to search for custom attributes in Advanced Find?
