    - issues when two people use the "accept" button on the same queue t We use a lot of queues for our business to handle tasks and phone calls. When an employee is ready to perform a task, he or she will refresh the queue which holds the task, then accept the task. The problem is that if person A uses the "accept" button on an activity out of a queue and then person B accepts the same activity, the activity does not show up in either person's in progress queue--and it is missing from the originating queue. In fact, if you attempt to open the activity at that time (by navigating to it's parent) and assign it back to the queue, or any other user, it generates an error stating that you cannot do that when an activity is closed. The activity is not closed though; it is fully able to be edited / etc. It is easy to run into this problem, because if you have several people accepting activities in the same queue, you cant always refresh the queue fast enough to know if an activity has already been accepted or not.     - Outlook Client - Mapping - How does it work? Hi all, could anybody explain to me how Outlook &/or MS CRM 3.0 identifies the fields that are mapped please? I'm working on an Outlook Client implementation and will have to include extra fields in the synchronization. I've seen the post on how to show the Parent Account field, but need more info on how Outlook knows that FIELD X = FIELD Y in MS CRM (or the other way around)... The other problem we've come across is that a lot of our customised fields have an underscore in them (ie: PREFIX_FIELDNAME, with the prefix denoting that it's a custo). however, when I try to create a new field in Outlook, it refuses the underscore character. Any ideas as to a solution, please? We can't rename all of out customised fields. Many thanks in advance to anyone who can help me out here.     - CRM and Outlook Calendar Sync. I am just starting out with using CRM. One issue I am having is that if you enter an appointment in your outlook calendar and "track in CRM" your fine.     - Can not send emails within Exchange accounts, but external emails work So basically I have setup some rules mainly for cases. Whenever a serious case is created I want certain people within the organization (MS Exchange server) to be notified. If I use an email address of anybody within the organization it doesn't work, but if I use an external account, like Gmail or Hotmail, the email is sent without a problem. On the CRM server, in the Events log under Applications, I'm getting a Usrenv Event id#1030 almost every 5 minutes, so not sure if that would affect sending emails to people within the same Exchange environment.     - Calculating Taxes in CRM Hi all, I am putting together some new reports for printing out quotes, etc for clients rather than exporting the data to excel, formatting and then sending out. I've got the reports from the Sandbox running, and I've modified them to our standards, but now I need to calculate taxes on the quotes for clients. In CRM, this is simply for show and tell, it doesn't mean anything to the bottom line since taxes have no bearing on the revenue of a company. GP sorts this out and accounts for it correctly on our back-end. Problem #1: We do business in more than one country (why CRM is US centric is beyond me in today's global business society), we are using c360's multicurrency add-in to deal with the four primary currencies we sell in, USD, CAD, JPY and EUR. We have offices in 7 different countries all using the same CRM system and we need to calculate taxes based on the local tax requirements. Problem #2: Dealing the additional tax line for GST/VAT/etc in overtaxed countries like Canada, UK, etc. My first instinct is to simply create a different quote report for each country that we sell in and calculate the taxes in each report, but as a perfectionist programmer, this seems a bit sluggish. I wanted to field some feedback on this first to see if anyone has any suggestions for handling this.     - Hide the 'save' and 'save and close' buttons Hi, I keep users from saving an entity using the event.returnValue = false; along with an alert in the onsave event. However, I consider it is a bit stupid to let these buttons available only to tell the user he can't save. I would thus like to hide them, and to have the alert displayed only when ctrl+s is pressed. Randomly my users get this error when trying to access their activities folder in CRM. It could happen once a week or everyday then stop for a week, completely unpredictable. What I have been doing to get it back up and working temporally would be clearing the Application, System, and CRMExRouter logs.     - Restriction on appending data to custom fields on Account Form? I'm having problems appending data to a custom field on the Account Form. However, the code works perfectly on a custom form, I've made. Btw, the ONLOAD code is: crmForm.all.fieldname.DataValue = 'Text'; On the custom form, the field is filled with the word Text, but on the Account form, nothing happens.     - Make entity read only Hi, I have a high number of records for an entity, each of them being stored twice. The reason is that half of them is supposed to be modifiable and the other half is not for the sake of reporting. There is thus a flag 'modifiable'.     - security roles We have privileges (create, delete, update etc..) for all the MS CRM entities. I want to know how access level (user, business unit, parent-child, organization) will have an impact on the create privilege. Let us take an example with two users. User1 has got create privilege with user level access. And user2 has got create privilege with business unit level access. I do not find any limitation between two users, while creating a new record.     - CRM Problems Hello, We have implemented CRM 3.0 with two Web Servers, with NLB implemented, and one DB server. After about two to three weeks the Web servers will display the Error message below in the Sys Log and then the Reports function will no longer work. The servers have to be rebooted in order for the function to work again. DNS is maintained by a 3rd party appliance, not MS. I know this could be network related but have checked again and again and can't find anything. NIC drivers are one release back and there we no fixes listed for this kind of problem. Double Hop Kerberos authentication is set up from MS specs. I am assuming if this was incorrect it would not work from the beginning. Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks. As part of an Exchange move to a new server we moved the mailboxes to Server2, but leaving the Exchange services running on Server1 for another 1-2 weeks to make sure all are switched over.     - Outlook Desktop Client Missing Options We are a few days away from the start of a pilot program for Microsoft Dynamics CRM when we hit a small problem. One of the requirements was that any user be able to create and maintain teams. We did this by making the "Teams" area in "Settings" | "Business Unit Settings" part of the Nav Bar. This works beautifully in the Web Client and Outlook Laptop Client. But in the Outlook Desktop Client the "New" and "More Actions" buttons are missing. The end result is that the users cannot create a new team or add/remove users from other teams.     - MSCRM Exchange Router Rules / Config uninstall manually? Hi all, i installed a test version of ms crm 3.0. A few days ago i uninstalled ms crm. After that i found the ms crm router on my exchange server. I wanted to delete my rules but the router was not able to connect to the mscrm installation which is gone now. So i uninstalled the router service as well. The problem is, that rules seem to be still active because many users get mails which say that the mail couldnÂ´t be forwarded to mscrm@company.com (which doesnÂ´t exist anymore).     - Sorry for the XPost, but I'm lost in the CRM model Howdy, I'm a database developer, not much on the practical end of things so I'm a bit baffled by a behavior a co-worker queried me with. I tried helping her with it and I'm dumbstruck with just how odd CRM is. I assume it has to be a knowledge gap on my part so let me see if I can explain this. We have a CRM view based on a custom entity called "schedule." Each schedule needs to be linked to another custom entity called "location." We seem to have that part working. But on a view based on schedule, I want to refer to matching location's name. I can't figure out how to get it show locations name, just its key value. Anybody have a suggestion?     - Outlook Offline Use of CRM Address Book I am using the CRM Outlook client and have created a CRM Contact. I have confirmed the CRM Contact appears in: a) my Outlook Contacts, b) my CRM Contacts, and c) the CRM Address Book. I then take the CRM Outlook client Offline, close Outlook, and disconnect from my network. Upon reopening Outlook, the CRM Address Book is empty (but the GAL is still populated).     - Shared Calendars - unable to Track in CRM We have a central receptionist who has Author permissions to the Outlook calendars of all the sales staff in her unit. She makes client appointments for the sales staff and enters the appointment directly in their calendar, but Track in CRM icon is not available in their calendar for her as Author (even though the sales staff have CRM installed. MS tells us they don't have a shared calendar solution.) She's tried creating the appt in her calendar, promoting it to CRM, then dragging the appt into the sales person calendar. Is there a way that we can change the query on this report each month (since it is based on a monthly date) without having to create a whole new report?     - Help reinstalling on the same servier Hi everyone! I need to know the process to reinstall CRM on the same server. I've had some issues with it and I'd just like to wipe the slate clean and start all over. However there is some data in it that I would like to preserve and re-import after the reinstall, i.e. Accounts, Leads, etc. The Export to Excel function is definitely not very helpful as it only exports a few columns, unless I do a dynamic spreadsheet which I imagine connects to the CRM server to get its data -- an option which would be useless if I reinstall. Is there a way I can just backup the two SQL databases and then restore them after the reinstall? What kind of issues would I be dealing with, i.e. with custom entities and/or custom fields that have been added (i.e. would it complain if I just restored the old databases before I created the custom fields after the reinstall?) My reporting services apparently don't work either so I can't get a big report of accounts, leads, activities that I need to keep and it looks very very time consuming to go through each view and add all the columns and then export that way.     - invalid user authorization I am getting an invalid user authorization error message when trying to create leads / accounts using a specific security role. If I change the security role of the user then they don't have the problem, also if I swap the security role for a user and they create a lead and then I swap them back it will be ok for an undetermined period of time before it starts throwing exceptions. Does anyone know what may be wrong, I can't change the role of the user permanently as the different roles allow the user to perform different actions in the application. As a workaround, if I remove and then re-add the Duration attribute and preview/publish everything will work as it should. The issue with this however is that in the default form, the duration attribute is a drop down control but after I remove and re-add, it will only show a textbox so we will have to rely on the users to type in valid data for that field instead of allowing for selection. Another issue with this workaround is that on the Appointment and Service Appointment forms, the Duration control is locked to the Scheduling Information section, so I cannot remove it thus the error will always occur. We also have installations of Crm in English and do not experience this issue so it appears to be unique to our Japanese install. If anybody can offer any insight it would be greatly appreciated. We read the preq's and have Windows SBS with GP90 and CRM30, but it's telling
me that SQL2000 must be installed. This is a new GP install and we're
already on SQL2005.

Is there a patch or work around that let's the GP90 CRM30 adapter work with
SQL2005?

If you are talking about the GP/CRM integration, then no there isn't. The
integration is built on top of BizTalk 2004 and that is not supported on SQL
2005.
