Happy Halloween everybody!
Hope everybody has a great Halloween!
Me, I'm dressed up as MSCRM 1.0. I have a yellow
GP 'walk the talk' T-shirt, cut full of holes...
I didn't make as many holes as the product, of course,
because it would not look good to have a half-naked
consultant walking around the building...
Let's hope 1.2 is a treat and not a(nother) trick....

Basic Question StringReader (ReadXML)
Emm,
i hava a problem with accessing Schema Fiends from the CRMQuery
Result-XML.
I tried to Access mit Schema-Fields using
Dim users As New DataSet
users.ReadXml(New StringReader(usersXml))
Dim myRow As DataRow
For Each myRow In users.Tables("result").Rows
Dim opportunityVO As New OpportunityVO
Try
opportunityVO.Name = myRow.Item("name")
Catch ex As Exception
System.Diagnostics.Debug.WriteLine("Accountid" + ex.Message)
End Try
'...
Next
BUT i also need the Account-ID which is - looking at the XML Structure
- in the "accountid"-"table". So i would have to use
'...
For Each myRow In users.Tables("account").Rows
'...
to access it. (?) But i seems there is no logic connection beetween
these two virtual tables. Also not every "result-Table" must have a
corresponding "accountid-table".
Any Idea?

WXP Accessing CRM via IE6
Hi,
I have a small network with all Windows XP Pro machines
and a Windows Server 2003 PDC. I also have a Windows
2000 standalone server running Microsoft CRM. This setup
works great with one problem. One of my WXP Pro machines
cannot access the CRM server. When I bring up IE6 SP1
and type in the address for the CRM server, I am
presented with the usual authentication dialog, but after
typing in a username and password, the IE6 window
immediately closes. All of the other WXP/IE6 machines
are able to access the CRM server just fine. The only
difference between the computers is that the one that
doesn't work also does not have Service Pack 1 for
Windows XP installed. Due to a proprietary software
program that will not function correctly under WXP SP1,
this machine is still running Pre-SP1 Windows XP,
although with all critical and recommended updates,
including the .NET Framework 1.1. Why would a Windows XP
Pre-SP1 machine not be able to access the MSCRM server?
Thanks for any suggestions!

Requirements for customizing interfaces to CRM
First, I barely know how to spell "CRM", sop I apologize if this question
has been asked before!
We are considering using Microsoft's CRM at our office with SQL2000. We have
a contract programmer developing an additional 'Commisions' reporting module
for our financial needs. We will need to have that module push and pull
information out of CRM, but also we will need to extend the database
information maintained in the CRM database.
Does Microsoft allow this type of customization top the CRM
database/package? And if so, are there additional costs involved (for SDK,
services, licenses, etc.)?
Thanks.

Delete a user
Anyone have a clue how I can Delete a user from CRM...here
is the situation:
User was added...then the user was deleted from Active
Directory and a new user with the same login created. In
MSCRM the user was deactivated and then Activated. Now we
can not assign a license to the user in MS CRM the error
is "The selected object could not be found. Verify that
the object exists in both the database and Active
directory."
I assume ths is because we deleted the user from active
directory and added a new user with the same login. MS
CRM does not see ths s the same object. So I would thnk
the fx is to delete the user from MSCRM and add him back.
However, I can only disable/enable. There is no delete
option. I don't want top go directly to the database to
delete this user. Any ideas?
I tried lookng through the MMC user manager but that has
never worked...micrsoft confirmed the problem to be a bug
but never has come back with a fix. So my only method to
manage users is through the web-based nterfaced provided

crm and telesales campaigns
Our people in telesales used to work with Siebel, and they keep asking about
the concept of
"campaigns". In all of the documentation, I found 2 documents that mentioned
the word campaign exactly once.
Could someone give me at least some kind of idea of how campaigns could be
done in MSCRM?
For example, we as a distributor decide to go on a campaign of selling HP
laser printers. We have MSCRM with our partners inside, and custom field "HP
Customer". The value of this filed can be true, or false. How do we:
1. define a campaign - a group of accounts with HP Customer field whose
value is True
2. divide the campaign with target customers so that each of 4 telesales
persons gets it's own customers to contact, without overlaping...
3. analize the results of that particular campaign?

How do I convert a field from a text field to a pick
