Hi,

I've created a PhoneCall activity for a Lead.When I convert
this lead to an oppurtunity,
the activity which I created for the lead is not updating for the
oppurtunity.
When i open oppurtunity,activity is not displaying in the activities list.
It is very important for us to capture the activity info even after
converted as oppurtunity.

Can anyone help me resolving this issue.

Issue

When converting Leads to Accounts, the Notes and Activities associated to
the Lead do not transfer to the new Account record. Is there a way that we
can set it so that the Notes and Activities are transferred to the created
Account record when the Lead is converted to an Account?

Resolution

When converting a Lead to an Account, Contact, and/or Opportunity, the Notes
and Activity Records for that Lead record will not follow to the newly
created Account record. By design, the Notes and Activities from the Lead
are not transferred to the Account, Contact, or Opportunity records because
the Originating Lead field on the Account, Contact, and Opportunity Record
(on the Administration Tab) is designed to allow drilling back into the
original Lead record to view any records associated to the Lead that may be
desired to view from the new Account record.

Leads and Account, Contact, and/or Opportunity records are separate entities
so their associated records are kept separate as well. There are situations
where having the records transfer to the new records (Account, Contact,
and/or Opportunity records) is desired and also times where associated
records may not need to be transferred to the Account, so it has been
designed to provide the option to access these records of the originating
lead without transferring them.

In the Microsoft CRM Web Application:

1. Go to Sales on the Navigation Bar and select the Accounts, Contacts, or
Opportunities Side Tabs.

2. Within one of these Side Tabs, click on the desired Account, Contact,
and/or Opportunity record created from a Lead Conversion to be opened, and
open the record to the Record Level and select the Administration Tab.

3. In the Administration Tab, there is an Originating Lead field. The
hyperlink in this field can be drilled into to open the original Lead record
(the lead this Account, Contact, or Opportunity was created from). In the
opened Lead record from this hyperlink, the Notes and Activity records for
the Lead can be viewed.
