Hi:
I see it written in CRM Help:
Microsoft CRM mail folders
You can use the Microsoft CRM folders to create and access records in
Outlook and Microsoft CRM that use the Microsoft CRM activity forms. If you
create records when you are working offline, they are synchronized to the
Microsoft CRM server when you go online. This method gives you other
conveniences, such as access to e-mail templates.
Do you know the steps to access the CRM templates from Outlook?

Recurring Outlook Appointments & CRM 3.0
Does CRM 3.0 support Recurring Appointments. That is, if a user setups a
recurring appointment in Outlook, will it show up in CRM 3.0.

Help on Queue - Take II
Hi,
Can someone explain me and help me out about how to get the queue system
working? im not getting it...
* When i try to send a email to: support@mydomain.com <-- this didnt work
out... the email dont get on the queue to assign later on... in the email
router i have estabelish a rule for support@mydomain.com to the crm user that
have the queue...
* When i try to send a email to: support@mydomain.com; myuser@mydomain.com
<-- this works .. the mail gets in the user queue and is assigned to my
user...
* if i try send a email to support@mydomain.com ; anotheruser@mydomain.com
this doesnt works.. the email dont get in the queue and not even assigned to
the user.. he even dont enter the system...
* if i send a email to anotheruser@mydomain.com he enter the system and get
assigned (on the queue) to the user...
I mean is it possible to have a email like support@mydomain.com that could
queue emails that we could assign later?... this not seems to work out... the
email need to get assigned to myuser to enter the queue.. weird :(

Recently we have installed CRM 3.0 on a new domain since the beta was
running on our existing company domain. To inegrate CRM outlook online
version and to connect to the crm server, is it mandatory to have both the

Address Label
I want to add a button to the contact and order forms which will extract the
name and address fields and automaticaly insert them into a template.
I would like the template to format as a label which can go directly to a
specific printer (label printer).

CRM Toolbar Missing.. cant add back in
We have 70 of our salesmen using the outlook client. One of them is having a
problem that I cant figure out. His toolbar is missing so crm doesnt work.
I have tried adding it back in and it gives me this error.
"An error occured loading Microsoft CRM Functionality. Try restarting
Microsoft Outlook. Contact your system administrator if errors persist."
this error pops up in a grey application window.
Then if i click on one of the crm folders, everything except the content of
the page loads up. "Page title and navigation, search boxes, etc." When it
gets to trying to load the list of records it gives me this error.
"An error occured loading Microsoft CRM functionality, Try restarting
Outlook. Contact your system administrator if errors persist" this error
has a yellow background.
Please help if you cant, I am stumped.

Mapping Failure
Hi
My attempt at mapping, to allow information transfer from lead to both
opportunities and companies, has failed to some degree.
The mapping works for opportunities but not for companies, despite the
identical process I have followed. The attribute mapping is for a picklist.

Internal e-mail in queue (in CRM 3.0)
Sorry if i am repeating it , i tried but couldnt find the answer. I can
get the external e-mail in queue but not internal e-mail in CRM 3.0.

We're trying to use an e-mail template in a campaign activity, but we can't
find the appropriate button in the form.
Does it mean that the use of a template is not directly available in a
campaign activity (email type)?

Difference between Teams and Business Units
Hi,
We are trying to implement CRM 3.0.Our sales teams are divided in to four
groups and we would like to restrict their record access groupwise . Each
team consists of a Manager and few executives. Even though I have created
teams and added the corresponding members, every one can see all the
records. Do I have to create a business unit to solve this?

Retrieving attributes of entity in an m:n relationship into an iFr
How can we retrieve the attributes of an entity in an m:n relationship?
for example: we are creating some products.We are creating some
opportunities for an account.Now,we're associating the products to these
opportunities through opportunityproducts.
Now,i want to display all the products related to an opportunity in an
iFrame.And,viceversa.But,as opportunityproduct is used as mediator to create
this m:n relationship between products and Opportunities,we are unable to
fetch the details of products/opportunities into the iFrame.Please help me in

Error sending email from workflow
I created a workflow that will send out an email when an entity is
created/assigned. But the email is not sent. Checked the log in the workflow
monitor, got error: Error code = 80049306. Access is denied.
I checked that email is working by creating an email activity, send it to
the same user as the workflow and it works fine.
Why is it that it works fine when i create an email activity, but it does
not work when sending from workflow?
The workflow are created with a CRM user. I got other workflows e.g. to
update an entity, and those works fine. Only having problem with sending

Upgrading 1.2 to 3.0
We Planning to upgrade CRM 1.2 to 3.0 for our clients.
We are trying to create a developer environment and perform the update. My
question is if we go this route how can we install 1.2 on this dev servers
(Key is unique as per domain). Can we have DEV or temp key for that
particular domain? If YES... HOW?
On the other hand if we install a fresh copy of 3.0 what is the process of
data integration from old to new DB and what kinid of information we may
loose throught this route.

ICRM Reporting of Shared Users on a client
Is there a report which can be printed showing which users have been granted
access to a particular client/record within ICRM? I looked at the dynamic
worksheet exporting but it didn't appear to have a column which you could add

updating a custom field in Accounts from another SQL database
Is there any safe way to update a custom field in the Accounts on CRM without
using .Net programming or expensive software like Scribe.
We need to update a flag custom field using info from another database. I
know how to do it using ODBC link in Access to the CRM table, but I also know
this is not recommended due to security in CRM. But we do not have any other
options right now.
Giving that this is not part of the default fields in CRM, and we are only
updating not adding or deleting, are there really any issues to worry about.
If so, is there another option.

Leads Customization
First off I want to thank the help I've received so far, you have all been
helpful. But I have yet another question!
I'm working with customizing the Leads entity and I want to add the "Phone
Call" icon to the top menu bar next to attachment and Send Email. I just
want the icon to link to a New Activity Phone Call, so that the agents that
go through their leads in the morning can easily log phone calls. I also
want to add a "Completed" button to the menu of the Phone Call activity
screen.
What is the best way to go about this?

Import Accounts / Contacts - How to get GUIDs in CRM?
I remember seeing a posting some place a couple of weeks ago regarding
importing contacts into accounts using Bulk Import.
The posting had a link to a page/blog that someone had written up with code
to display the GUID in search results/finds.
In other words, I want an import process that does not involve SQL (why have
to query using SQL, isn't Advanced Find usable)?
I do not care if I have to have two separate import steps (well, I do, and
Microsoft has clearly failed to make this important feature usable... I guess
they're trying to keep Scribe happy at the expense of us all).
Anyways, if anyone know of a step by step way to get Accounts and Contacts
imported without using a 3rd party tool, please let me know.
If you know the link I am referring to (was just some code you had to put
onto the web server of your CRM), it would be appreciated.

Change MS CRM 3.0 Install Account
I have a client who has MS CRM 3.0 installed and running but it was
installed using the domain administrator account. "Administrator"
Is there a way to change the install so it no longer has the Administrator
account as the install account? They have created another account.
MSCRMInstall which was supposed to be used for the install.
Also in 1.2 and 1.0 there were a few special circumstances when the install
account was needed to be used. Is there any circumstances like that in MS
CRM 3.0 or could I just add MSCRMInstall as an MS CRM system administrator
and disable the install account.

Outlook Client Install via VPN
Hello,
We need to install the CRM Outlook client to some remote users who are
connected via VPN. Is this possilbe? I have read other post that seem to say
there are issues because the cleint is not authenticated on the domain during
the install.

Advanced Find Filter Criteria
When creating a filter for Account in Advanced Find, there is no field for

Workflow Rule based on picklist value
I have created a new field as a picklist on the opportunity called "Type".
I have a workflow rule that runs on create of opty, checks for value in type
and then runs one of 3 manual sales process depending on the value chosen in
type.
this all worked fine until I decided to update and change the sales
processes and I also exported and imported between dev and test servers.
Now, the opportunity rule doesn't recognise the type field for some reason.
Rule: Apply Processes
when opportunity is created
if
Opportunity.Type = End User Project
then
Exec: End User Project
end if
...and so on for the 3 sales process.
I tried changing the rule as below and then created an opportunity in the
free text field with the string "test" and it worked ok:

I then tried this and it just sits there waiting so doesn't recognise the
type field for some reason

Allow all tasks to be re-opened for editing.
There are frequent occasions where tasks need to be updated after they have
been closed: Typos, time and date changes/updates, etc.

iFrames pulling CRM Reports
For Accounts and Contacts my company wants to have the first tab displayed be
read only. I have created an Overview tab and placed an iFrame in the tab for
Accounts. I have tried to local reference the URL for the Account Overview
rdl file but when I publish the iFrame it returns a blank.

Scribe Insight - ACT to CRM 3.0 notes/history
I'm trying to get the ACT notes/history records migrated into CRM using
the Scribe workbench. The out-of-box functionality ties the
note/history record to the account and not the contact. I need it tied
to the contact (I would think everyone would). I'm trying to use a
custom formula but I'm having no luck.
Has anyone been able to tie the note/history record to the contact

Suggestion for Emails
Microsoft should make Ctrl-Tab work in the body of an email. Since
hitting tab sends focus to the next field, there is no way (that I can
find) to place a tab in an email. Other programs I have seen allow the
user to hit Ctrl-Tab to place a tab in the body of an email. It would
be nice if this worked in CRM.

enable all fields
I have been using the disable property of fields in jscript to ensure that
users do not enter inconsistand fields of information. Does any one know of
a way to loop through all the fields on a form to enable them. I would like
to attach this script to the On Save so all fields will be saved.

More than 1 CRM install and single Exchange
Hi all,
I've done some searching and there seems to be a number of posts in
this vein, but I am finding some a little confusing, or by no means
clear or definitive.
We have a Windows 2003 native AD, running Exchange 2003 Enterprise -
A/P cluster back-end.
We have just deployed a single server for an evaluation of CRM -
running it on a single but well powered Dell box - CRM 3.0, SQL
Standard. We have installed the email router on the A/P nodes of the
Exchange cluster. 20 Clients are using a mix of the web-based interface
and the Outlook add-in to access this - seems to be working fine and
tracking emails in testing.
We now have an additional part of the organisation wanting to go for
their own evaluation of CRM - can we build an additional new CRM server
(presuming the problem is we have already used our site/org name for
the first one) to run this - but still link with our existing Exchange
infrastructure??? Or is it better that we add the new team as a new
business unit into the existing CRM deployment (as the current
evaluation in place already have their own 'business unit' under the
top level organisation name/site). Clearly as the reasoning behind the
system is for different teams to share and publish data in the future
for other teams benefit, then presumably a single CRM installation
would be suitable (i.e. we can always up-size it later to additional
SQL back-ends, clustered SQL, load-balanced CRM front-ends, etc. to
support increase in users, data volume, fault tolerance, more 'business
units')
I am finding some answers a bit mixed - some people saying a single
Exchange org can use the single email router to support different CRM
installs, others saying there has to be a one-to-one relationship...
Clearly, we don't want individual teams having to go the route of
having their own Exchange org, DNS, etc. just to support a seperate CRM
deployment.
If we are deploying more than one business unit in the CRM deployment,
do these have to largely 'share' a common schema, set of data tables,
structures, etc. or do each business unit build and develop their own
'common' to only them?

Grouping results on a report (need a little help)
I created a report based off of the filteredlead and filteredannotation views
so that I could pull data regarding the leads and the notes regarding those
leads, below is the SQL statement I use to do this

Now this statement works out pretty well and returns the data that I want
with one small problem. If a lead has two or more notes associated with it
the results will have the company listed twice. Looking something like below

Companyname3 Note B
This isnt too huge of a deal but I would liek to have it so each company
only has one heading with all the notes listed under it, like.

I've managed to customize "cases" - they are now called "objectives".
But although the "subject" entity is listed as customizable, everything is
grayed out and I can't rename it.

Axapta 3.0: Setting the linktype of DataSources at runtime
Hello all,
I have a button on form. It's click-EventHandler contains a line:
CIRTRAStndTourOrderLine_ds.linkType(Transporteinheit.valueStr() ? 3 /*
InnerJoin */ : 4 /* OuterJoin */);
Where "CIRTRAStndTourOrderLine_ds" is the data source generated by MorphX
(CIRTRAStndTourOrderLine) is a table. "Transporteinheit" is a StringEdit.
The behaviour I would like to achieve is, that if I enter something into the
StringEdit it sets the linktype to InnerJoin otherwise to OuterJoin another
table.
In MorphX I set the linktype to OuterJoin (as a default).
The problem is, that axapta simply does not change anything. I suppose I
need some kind of refresh.

Client Problem
When I open the CRM from a client, my cpu usage grows to 60 % for the crm
application. It is very slow to open it. And to use allways the precachecrm
tool is really a workflow for this problem. My workstation has 1 GB ram and 3
Ghz.
The CRM Server is a 1 GHz Machine with 1 GB ram.
With a x64 client is crm realy fast but with my workstation 1 can wait 2
minutes before i can use crm and the cpu usage increase to 50 percent for the

Customization pane.

report prefiltering does not work for custom entity
Please help. I've been trying for days but can't get the reports prefiltering
to work for my custom entity.
I created a simple report with the CRMAF_ prefix and deploy to the CRM
server. The report works fine and display all data OK. Except the pre filter
does not work i.e. the "Edit Filter" button does not show.
My question is: Does report prefiltering works for custom entity?
I saw a lot of posts regarding this topic and tried all the suggestions i
could find, but still no luck.
I tried the microsoft tutorial in creating a prefilterable report base on
the account entity and this works fine. When I used the same procedure to

User creation fails
We have installed MS CRM 3.0 on a Windows Server 2003
The main problem today is that we are unable to create users in the system.
We created users on the Active Directory, but when we try to add a new user
to the CRM, we fill in the "Domain logon name" and when the textbox loses
focus, we get the error, "An error has occurred. Please contact the System
Administrator". There doesn't seem to be any other error log elsewhere.
The problem is probably something related to the CRM unable to access the AD
data.
Can anyone give me an idea, what to do?

Searching for contacts based on fields at account level
Hi,
Does anyone know if you can search for a list of contacts in CRM 3.0 based
on a field that is on the Account screen (entity). We have a problem where
the client has put most of their customised fields at account level and now
are unable to bring up a list of contacts based on those fields that are on
the account screen. As a result they can also not perform mail merges etc.
on contacts as all they can get is a list of accounts.

to the CRM, we fill in the "Domain logon name" and when the textbox loses
focus, we get the error, "An error has occurred. Please contact the System
Administrator". There doesn't seem to be any other error log elsewhere.
The problem is probably something related to the CRM unable to access the AD
data.
Can anyone give me an idea, what to do?

I can't seem to find out how to filter accounts by last contact date.
We need to be able to filter those accounts that have not been contacted
recently, so we can call them.
