    - Looking for help...I can't send e-mail using CRM web client I'm having a problem with trying to send e-mails vie the CRM web client. When I try to send the e-mail I get a pop-up with the message in bold "Unexpected Error" "An error has occurred. For more information, contact your system administrator". I've checked the event logs, no errors are showing up in either my CRM server or my exchange server. I'm lost, new to CRM. Any help or ideas is appreciated.     - Workflow not working Hi, I seem to have a problem with workflow, it is a new installation installed as per the book. The problem is that the worksflows I have created do not show up in workflow monitor and also don't seem to work. I can create the workflows OK, I can activate them, I can get Workflow monitor to start but it report no activity at all. I have restarted service several times and even rebooted the server complety. I have no errors reported and nothing in the event viewer ?? The only thing I can think of which has contributed to this may be the fact that I have set up SQL Mail to report on status of jobs etc on the SQL Server and that involved a bit of fiddling with login ID's etc to get it to work.     - Formatting phone numbers in CRM via background service I'm trying to figure out the easiest way to get a whole lot of phone numbers formatted correctly in CRM. We have ~90,000 accounts and ~110,000 contacts in our database. Looking at the account and contact schemas, I'm seeing 24 fields that may need to be formatted: Account -telephone1 -telephone2 -telephone3 -fax -address1_telephone1 -address1_telephone2 -address1_telephone3 -address1_fax -address2_telephone1 -address2_telephone2 -address2_telephone3 -address2_fax Contact -telephone1 -telephone2 -telephone3 -fax -address1_telephone1 -address1_telephone2 -address1_telephone3 -address1_fax -address2_telephone1 -address2_telephone2 -address2_telephone3 -address2_fax Now, pulling all of these records with 12 fields each using a CRMQuery object (SDK) is pretty much out of the question. Every query I put together either times out or throws some other error. What I want to know is if I can go straight into the AccountBase, ContactBase, and CustomerAddressBase tables and modify the values there instead of pulling/updating them using a CRMQuery object. I would set this job up as a Windows service and let it run every few days to keep all of the phone numbers formatted correctly.     - Anyone out there using C360's activity summary? There is an update for the activity summary that contains more columns - I installed the upgrade on my server and the web ap on the server works fine, but I can't get it to work on the client outlook or client web ap. When I click on summary from the client, I get "Access to the path "c:\inetpub\wwwroot\Custom\c360 \UserPreferences\{F254BFF5-19FD-4F80-879E- ACE55B131B83}.config" is denied."     - copy customizations from CRM test to CRM Production so far I have been able to make succesful customizations to the CRM Test version where I was trying the various tools. Since all my customizations were under the microsoft framework so I was trying to get the same moved over to CRM Production in a way that I do not have to do them over again. Is there a tool that I could utilize for the same. Also, by doin so would also the data under test be moved to Production, if not, is there a way to go around with the same.     - Resolving Case Error - "An error has occurred ... contact sys admi Web client - One of my users is having problems resolving cases. The error message dialog appears with the following message: "An error has occurred. For more information, contact your system administrator." I've checked the event viewer on the server but can't find any further information. The user is in the same Business Unit with the same Role as other users who can resolve Cases without a problem. The user owns the case that he's trying to resolve. We've run a full Publish through deployment manager and IISRESET to ensure all customizations were published. The user runs the web client through a Citrix terminal so I got our Citrix administrator to clear the session cache, still no joy. The user has also rebooted his terminal. Any ideas?     - Deleting multiple contacts Can you do this? I have searched the documentation and the forums for information but there is only stuff dealing with deleting single contacts I am fairly new to the product but I would expect in contact view, to be able to select multiple contacts and hit the delete key, or choose a menu option or toolbar button.     - Modify activity views Does anyone know if there is a way to modify the views for activities? We are trying to use the CRM calendar in a list view as a workaround for not having group calendaring. We want the activity to be attached to customer records, but I know we can't see other users calendars. We thought that we could add the owner and date due column to the view. Then, when looking at all activities, we could attempt to use this as a workaround. But I can't see any easy mechanism to modify the activity views. Any ideas?     - SFO Installation Error When installing SFO on a machine, it tells us we need to install the MSDE (sp3a) and the update to to MSDE (sp3a). We accept this items and click next, it appears that the installation starts, but then returns the following error: Setup has failed because of an error. Setup was unable to install Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Desktop Engine (SP3a). Install it separately and restart setup.exe.     - Ownership of incomming CRM Mail What is the logic used when assigning the ownership of incoming e-mail which are directed to CRM? Example: User1 sends eMail to Contact1 and cc's User2. Now Contact1 responses to the mail and it is correctly processed by the email router. The message is correctly linked to Contact1 activities in CRM. But for some reason User2 is the owner of the email activity and not as I would expect User1. How does the email router determine the owner of the mail activity.     - Sync Issues with Sales for Outlook Client In short, I haven't touched this product for about 18 months and unfortunately, I have virtually forgotten everything about this application. Therefore, I could really use your help in addressing an issue that I think we encountered before deploying it. Let's say user Joe Cool got a new PC (Windows XP SP2) in which we installed the Sales for Outlook Client. Ever since he got the new PC, he's had trouble syncing when he goes offline. When online, we see what we're expected to see while in the Sales for Outlook Client wihin Outlook. When we go offline, we don't see the changes/updates we expect to see while he's offline. Is this because Joe Cool's "profile" in the MSCRM database is somehow attached to his old machine and not his new PC?     - Performance in Win2k3 Dear All, I have experiance to install MSCRM in Win2k environment with SP4 with Exchange 2k and MSSQL 2k with SP3 and also install in Win2k3 environment with SP4 with Exchange 2k3 and MSSQL 2k with SP3 All installations work smoothly, but the problem is, why Win2k3 takes longger boot-ing than win2k. I need around 5 minutes for booting and almost 10 minutes for shuting down. Anybody can help me with this condition?     - Cannont Send Emails Via CRM I have just installed CRM 1.2 on a Win2003 server. The SQL database is on another server and exchange on another. I have installed the exchange router on the Exchange Server (2003) but I cannot send emails via CRM. I get an "unexpected error occured" I turned on devloper logging oon the CRM server and this is the only error I get: Error 403??? Any one got any suggestions? I have reinstall the router a few time using 2 different usernames and still no progress. When I try to go to the http://ETMS1:80/MSCRMConnector/ICrmEmailDispatch.SRF website from the CRM server I get error 403.4 Forbidden. I tried modifing the registry and added https://ET.... but then it just says page cannot be found. Any help would be much appreciated.     - ThreadPool Error Hi All, I am writing a Windows Service application using C# which uses MS-CRM Web Services API to communicate with MS-CRM. It creates and updates Account, SalesOrder, and Product entities.     - Anyone actually get CRM Mobile working yet? I've been tasked to try and get CRM Mobile working on our Development network. I've installed the SW, I've followed the prompts. If you know CRM Mobile, the statement "I can even see the ssCERDA site" means something. <big grin> Problem is, I'm using my boss's new PDA/Cell phone combination. When we install, we get errors on almost all components: "The program you have installed may not display properly because it was designed for a previous version of Windows Mobile software" After that, it sorta installs, but then when we try to connect we get two errors: "device registration failed. For more information, contact your system administrator." "a connection cannot be established at this time. please try again later." If I look in the event viewer on the server, I don't get anything besides Security Log errors. Has anyone actually gotten CRM Mobile working properly?     - Hiding the toolbar and menubar I have a tab within CRM that opens a custom form. From within that form the user can open other CRM objects like lead, accounts, etc... - all in a new window. That new window appears fine, except that now the IE toolbar and menubar are visible. It appears to me that the appmode setting in the web.config file is not being applied to pages opened from a source other than CRM. Is there a way to make this work the same as from within CRM?     - How to get more information about error Hi, I would like to know where/how can I obtain more information when an error/exception happends when I use the SDK to submit webService call. Take for exemple, this morning, I fiddled around 30-45 minutes with a web call that was throwing a "SOAP Server Application Faulted" when creating a new account. It turned out that the owner I was trying to assign it has no more licence... simple but, I had to debug it and figure it out.     - access error Not sure what happened but it seemed that 3 accounts have been locked out, even the administrator account after I tried to delete an old employee. Since I could not delete her I decided to disable her. Once I did this it disabled all my accounts. This does not make sense because I was in her account. Is there a bug in the software?     - MS CRM 1.2 Reinstall installed CRM 1.2, then experienced various anomolies (examples: when clicking on the buttons in the UI would experience script errors in the browser; records didn't save). so... like a dummy i decided to uninstall and reinstall it. Now i can't reinstall. It fails, says check the error log. the event log says all is well. the sql server log gives the only clue "FCB::Open failed: Could not open device C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL\data\usHampton_Securities_Inc__MSCRM.mdf for virtual device number (VDN) 1." which doesn't tell me anything as the .mdf is there. next i tried to install it on another server that had never seen anything installed on it except IIS. Added SQL 2000 sp3a, then attempted install of CRM. It also failed. This server is in the same domain.     - CRM 2005 Release Preview I talked with a Microsoft pre-sales engineer on Friday and he sent me a PowerPoint slideshow with tons of info about what is planned for CRM 2005. You can download it from my blog. He assured me the slideshow was customer ready and said I could distribute it. The usual disclaimer applies: Nothing is guaranteed! There is also a timeline for release in the slideshow that shows it should be released in the 4th quarter of Microsoft's FY2005 (Microsoft's Fiscal Year runs July 1 through June 30) which would be in line with recent announcements. The slideshow looks like there will be some great new features and functionality in CRM 2005. like "Name & Key" installation with a wizard that verifies all the prerequisites are in place (SQL, Active Directory, etc.) and tells you if they are misconfigured. My group is using CRM, and we need the ability to add blackout dates to
our accounts. That is, we need to be able to prohibit certain accounts
from being scheduled for an activity during particular time periods.
Does CRM have any built-in functionality that allows for this?
