I've just received the 3.0 beta version. Does anyone know of any training
materials or detailed demos that are available for this version? If anyone

Email Template
CRM 1.2 - I created an email template related to invoices - all works fine
can pick out invoice related fields for body of email etc no problem. Saved
template then go into workflow mgr and create a new rule to send an email
when an invoice is created using this new template. Problem is that the new
template I created isnt shown in the drop down list of templates?

Problems During installation
Hi,
I got some problems during installation.
I have a testserver. Athlon 1800+ 512 RAM
There are installed 2k3 Server Datacenter Edition SP1 full patched,
SQL2000SP4, WSUS server and Exchange 2k3 SP2
I got an error at the end of installation saying:
Microsoft Customer Relationship Management Server Setup Error
Failed to install Microsoft Customer Relationship Management Server.
Failed to install MSI part of Microsoft CRM Server setup.
Unspecified error
(80004005)
Any Idea what I should do ?
All services are running at the end of installation but the workflowmanager
und the webservice doens't work

Custom Web Service: Soap error in WhoAmI() Method
Hello,
Here is the issue:
CRM 1.2 installed on Windows 2003 SP1 on the "CRM" domain.
I have created a web service that automatically share a case within a team.
The web service is called from a Post URL in a workflow rule at the creation
of the case.
The paramater passed to the Web Service is "incidentid"
I have tested the web service locally, by calling the URL in Internet
Explorer (logged with my CRMAdmin) and it works perfectly.
Now if I try to test from the CRM app locally or remotely (still using my
CRMAdmin) it does not work.
From the Web service trace I can see that using the test service page the
logon name is CRM\CRMAdmin, which is fine but when I run the webservice
through the CRM app, then the Logon name is CRM\CRM-SRV$ (CRM-SRV is the
name of my CRM server that is also running SQL Server 2000 sp4).
In the event log I get the following SOAP Error (tracked in my web service):
System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapException: SOAP Server Application Faulted

I had the same problem before applying SP1 of Windows 2003...
My web service is using .Net framework 1.1 sp1...
It is very strange as it is working when I test it but not from the CRM.
It seems user's credentials cannot be retrieved from the WhoAmI() method...

Failed to import sample data to CRM 3.0 beta

I've same big problems while trying to import the sample database with
the wizard.
Importing the users ist ok but the, the following error occurs (lots of
them):

Need to dumb down CRM 1.2
Our user adoption rates are pitiful on version 1.2. We purchased c360 in the
hopes of bringing those rates up. Still users complain that the product is
too cumbersome to use.
Soooo the Sales Director has asked if the following is possible to "dumb
down" the current version of CRM (1.2) so that users won't be intimidated by
the extra options.
1. On the Home Page, can we only have Forecast Manager (c360) and
Multi-Field Search listed in the Navigation area (left side) for all Sales
Person roles?
2. Can we remove Workplace from the system entirely? No-one uses this.
3. Can we remove Reports? This is something else that users with the
SalesPerson role do not need to see.
4. Our Sales folks will only click on the Sales button. Can we only list
Accounts, Leads, Contact, Opps, Forecast Manager (c360) and Multi-Field
Search (c360). The rest of the stuff is "fluff".
5. When a salesperson clicks on Sales, can it automatically take the user
to the Forecast Manager (c360)?

Many to Many relationship with CRM 3.0 entities
I saw in another post that you can do Many-To-Many relationships in CRM
3.0 by creating an additional entity with many-to-one relationships.
Does anybody have an example of this?
I have created a seperate entitiy with many-to-one relationships to
both entitie's that I want to join.
Now how do I get a form to display all the other entities records so I
can pick from them and link one as i see fit.

CRM Queue's
I have a question on CRM queue's. Is it possible to have multiple e-mail
alias' go into the same CRM queue. I have setup an AD account with the
appropriate settings and e-mails which are sent to the primary e-mail address
for this account go into CRM. Any e-mail sent to an alias of this account
will end up in the Exchange mailbox and not CRM.

CRM Queue's
Is it possible to have multiple e-mail alias's go into the same CRM queue? I
have the CRM queue and AD account setup. If I send an e-mail using the
primary e-mail address for this AD account, everything works correrctly (CRM
receives the e-mail and places it in the queue). Any e-mail which is sent
to the alias of this this account will end up in the Exchange mailbox but not
the CRM queue.
I am running CRM 1.2 with Exchange 2000.

Error after customizations
I made some modifications to the Opportunity form (CRM 1.2), published my
customizations, did an iisreset and I'm not receiving the following error
message:
"SELECT permissions denied on object 'Opportunity'..."

Upgrading to CRM 3.0 Problems
Hello,
We're upgrading from CRM 1.2 to 3.0 and are coming across an error we can't
get past.
After entering all the information it brings up the system requirements
screen where it goes through everything to make sure the install will be
smooth. Everything checks out except for IIS. The exact error is "The Web
site's NTAuthenticationProviders must be Negotiate,NTLM"
We've researched the error on the web and found the adminscripts command to
make the site Negotiate,NTLM and the get command does show it to be just that
but when we restart IIS and start the install again we get the same error.
Any idea would be greatly appreciated on this topic as I'm totally out of
ideas on this one.

The way the address associations are handled today create tremendous gaps in
the structure of CRM records compared to the structure of integrated
backoffice financial systems records. What should be trivial integration
tasks lead to a LOT of workarounds and customers frustration. Here is how we
can improve.
Abandon the idea of hardcoding first 2 address records on the account form.
Add 2 address lookup fields on the account (relationships) that could be used
to select any of the account addresses and expose them on the account form
(still show individual address fields on the account along with the lookup
link).
This will allow straightforward integration to the backoffice systems
without the headaces of different address info displayed on the customer
record in CRM vs backoffice and inability to change the primary address in
CRM once it is set.
Add Address lookup field on the service call.
The vast majority of the customers that use service calls need to track
service calls against customer sites and they do not setup an account for
each customer site, they setup addresses.
Currently we are forced to essentially do account to address integration to
deal with this gap.
Add Address lookup field on the sales order (Installation address) and
display all 3 addresses on the sales order as lookups (just like on the
contract, except still show individual address fields).
Add search and view functionality for address records - expose address as a
real entity in the areas/suareas.

Full Name
Hello,
I am trying to create a new entity in CRM 3.0 which will be similiar to
contacts with more specific information. I noticed that on Contacts
the primary attribute is 'Full Name' which is not displayed on the
form. I am guess that it concatenates the First and Last Name on some
type of event handler or something but I can not find it.
I basically want the same thing where I do not have Full Name on my
entity form but a First and Last Name field which will be there own
fields as well as the primary field like the method it uses in the
Contact entity.
Can anybody help me?

can't access the workflow manager, etc... onstarting get an alert box:
You don't have sufficient Microsoft CRM privileges to run the Workflow
Manager. For more information, contact your system Administrator.
Have just installed CRM and added three network users. I have tried running
workflow manager and got the error above.
I am the system Administrator 'Domain Admin' account logged into the server
this account isn't added as a licensed user, should it be? I can loginto the
interface 'localhost' fine and configure under this account? this is a Pro
License...

Contact Addresses
Hi all,
Many of out Contact addresses are not 100% correct. This is not a big
problem until we want to mailshot contacts and we find we have bad or
missing address data.
Can anyone offer any suggestion on how to quickly synchronise the address
details in our Contacts with those on the Parent Account ?

We are evaluating MS CRM and have installed CRM1.2 on Win 2K3 with AD,

Security Roles - Queues
Hi,
We need help on following scenario, we have two BUs (BU A and BU B), two
queues (QA associated to BU A and QB associated to BU B), and several users
in each BU.
When a user out of these BUs assigns a case for example to QA we would like
that only users of BU A could write and assign this case. However when we
create the security role and despite the QA is associated to BU A, the users
from BU B can also write and assign cases in QA. Can you help us in this
situation?
Do you know what means the previledge Append To in tab Core Records of
Security Roles?

I have one server (two AMD Opteron 1.6, 4gb of ram, raid) with
Win2003
SQL2000sp4
MSCRM (30 users)
Sharepoint (60 users)
MS Project Server (30 users)
I wonder if i benefit if i move web to another machine (single P4 1.6,
1GB ram, 1 hdd) and leave the first server for SQL only.

Importing Products with Scribe
Hi there
I've been trying to import Products in CRM 1.2 using Scribe Software.
I'm trying to import both Active and InActive products and Scribe Software
doesn't allow me to set a value for StateCode in the ProductBase table. So
all the products I import are Active.
Is it OK for me to edit the StateCode value in the ProductBase table
directly to set them InActive?? As in without any 3rd party tools.
Do I lose my support if I do that??

MS CRM 3.0 (HELP)
Hi everybody,
I installed MS CRM 3.0 with default settings yesterday with no problem.
Now,I can run MS CRM from another computer(in the same network)
by typing

We have an Access database that we use to track finished goods serial
numbers and associated parts serial numbers. We also use MS CRM. Does anyone
have any input as to what it would take to move this Access database to SQL
and adding the interface to CRM as another tab? The point being to
centralize the data on one SQL database and eliminate the need for an extra
application. Also it is valuable for our sales and service to have access to
that data from CRM without having to go elsewhere. Is this a pipe dream or

Service case report
Hello
We've been using CRM for nearly two months now. Some of our clients are
on support contracts and we have no need to invoice them for time spent
on cases. Others aren't and we need to invoice them. We invoice outside
of CRM and all I need is a report that shows me the time spent on each
case so that I can raise an invoice.
No standard report that seems to show this.....hhhmmm.
So, after some Googling I gather I need Crystal Reports. I download and
install the trial of XI and it won't connect to the CRM with a message
"Access Denied. You cannot log onto an older version of the CMS".
I then try and load the Crystal Reports Enhanced Edition on the server
from CD4 and it tells me "You must first upgrade to Crystal Reports
9.2.2 to continue with this setup". The downloadable service packs and
upgrades specifically say they are not suitable for OEM or bundled versions.
I know this is probably two or three questions but I'm it's all for one
objective.
Any ideas appreciated.
