Hi,
I have a small network with all Windows XP Pro machines
and a Windows Server 2003 PDC. I also have a Windows
2000 standalone server running Microsoft CRM. This setup
works great with one problem. One of my WXP Pro machines
cannot access the CRM server. When I bring up IE6 SP1
and type in the address for the CRM server, I am
presented with the usual authentication dialog, but after
typing in a username and password, the IE6 window
immediately closes. All of the other WXP/IE6 machines
are able to access the CRM server just fine. The only
difference between the computers is that the one that
doesn't work also does not have Service Pack 1 for
Windows XP installed. Due to a proprietary software
program that will not function correctly under WXP SP1,
this machine is still running Pre-SP1 Windows XP,
although with all critical and recommended updates,
including the .NET Framework 1.1. Why would a Windows XP
Pre-SP1 machine not be able to access the MSCRM server?

Thanks for any suggestions!

Is there a popup blocker installed on the machine?

Matt is correct in that popup blockers cause the browser to disappear when
accessing crm but you should be wary of any addin to the browser. I saw an
addin which told you what the google page ranking was when you accessed a
web page...again this cause crm to stop working
