Anti-spam for Exchange that works with CRM 3.0
Hi,
Can anyone recommend an Anti-spam software that works with queues in CRM 3.0?
I would prefer an anti-spam software installed on our Exchange 2003 server.
However, I need the anti-spam software to process the e-mails before the
CRM-Exchange E-mail Router routes the messages to CRM.
I am looking at GFi MailEssentials, but I am unsure if this software will
work when installed on the Exchange Server.
Any comments on how to avoid spam in queues would be helpful! Thank you.

Resolving Email Address to existing contact problem
Has anyone else come across this issue in MSCRM3.0? - when you attempt to
resolve an email address to an existing contact in CRM (that does not
currently have an email address stored in their details) the contact resolves
OK but does not update the email address in the contacts details.

Does anyone know how to view emails properly with crm mobile express. I have
added the email entity and the description field. when you double click the
email from mobile express either from a desktop machine or the mobile device

CRM Backup Question
I am running CRM 3.0 on a Windows 2003 member server. CRM is using a SQL
2000 database running locally on the CRM server. In the event of a server
crash/failure, i am trying to determine what files i would need to capture
during a nightly backup to get crm back up and running. I know i need to
capture the SQL databases, but what files/directory/etc would i need to
capture that are crm related? The files would be restored to a server that
was reloaded with Windows 2003 std from scratch and already configured in

Closing Multiple Activities in crmv3
We use CRM v3 and need to record closed activities against multiple accounts
at once e.g. to show that a number of accounts have been mailed to. It is
essential that we are able to either:
a) close multiple activities at once
or
b)have the abilty to mark activities as complete as soon as they are created
by campaign creation or quick campaign creation.

Rights for Deactivation
are there specific rights one can employ toblock de-activation?
our sales amanaers are VERY hands on and would like to check if all possible
opportunities have been explored before closing/deactivating and account.
We are also linking several other systems to CRM and the deactivation of an
account will also impact these systems we use for service delivery.

View displays wrong value for customized field
When adding some fields to an entity and displaying them in default view,
some columns in the view shows wrong value. Probably to do with the naming of
the new fields.
Steps to reproduce
1. add some new integer fields to an entity. Name them â??aâ??, â??axâ??, â??b1â??, b2â??
("a" = "new_a" and so on..)
2. add them to the form
3. add them to default view
4. open an entity-item and fill in a=1, ax=2, b1=3, b2=4 and save the item
5. check the edited item in the defulatview. The value for a=2, ax=2, b1=3,
b2=4. The problem is that â??aâ?? gets â??axâ??:s value!

Not able to open associated records
Dear all,
I am not able to open associated records in a custom entity. One custom
entity is associated with system entity (accounts),when i go to accounts and
than opena arecors and than try to open a record of custom entity from there
than it wont open(it simply wont double click!!!!!). The problem seems to be
with one custom attribute of custom entity.If i remove that attribute from
associative view than the records are opening but since i need that attribute

Hosting CRM on one server provider and having an hosted Exchange o
Hi,
We have an Exchange / BES managed hosting provider we don't want to switch
from. And, we want to have a managed host server for Microsoft Dynamics CRM
3.0 from a different host provider.
Will it be possible to have full integration of Exchange and CRM even though
they are on different provider/hosts?

BCM Import
Hi,
I realize the BCM import is not supported, but I think I've found the main
point where our import is failing, and it's holding up the final cutover for
my client. I'd love any help you could give us.
The current setup is SBS 2003 with CRM Installed with SQL 2000. When we use
the data migration wizzard it fails. An in depth SQL trace shows it failing
with an error
Server Msg 1540
Can't sort a row of size 8557, which is greater than the allowable maximum
of 8094.
Before that are a number of sort errors but no specifics.
At the bottom of the this post, I have posted the actual query that fails.
When I remove the very last Order By statement at the end it succeeds. I'm
wondering if there is anything we can do to correct this?

Error when synching with Outlook offline
When I try to synch CRM3.0 to Outlook offline I get an error at the 'Checking
for Changes' part as...

Problem with 'New' Reports !?
There are no reports in my Reports Section, and when I try to 'add' them via
the 'New' command (and following the help file directions), I get the
following error:
"An error occured while trying to add the report to microsoft CRM. Try
adding the report again. If this problem continues, contact your system
administrator."
I'm just trying to upload the 'stock' CRM reports to take a look, but nooo.

Display and extract of Email descriptions containing HTML
CRM will not interpret HTML headers in order to effectively display email
description data in standard CRM system views (such as Preview), or for
export to Excel.
FYI, c360 has successfully overcome this problem in the "c360 Summary" cell
of their Console product, that lists activity information related to a
specific CRM record.

Choosing contact for new case email
If I am in a Case and I create a new Email for that case, the To: address is
by default populated with the Account associated with that Case. In most
cases, the account itself does not have an email address associated with it.
Instead of the Account, I would like it to be pre-populated with the
Responsible Contact for that Case.
I can change this manually, but it requires many steps.
1) Is there any way to customize this behavior so that the Responsible
Contact is in the To: field by default?
2) When I click on the "..." button next to To: which brings up the Search
dialog, it by default displays all Accounts. When I choose Contacts from the
drop-down, it then displays all Contacts across all Accounts. Is there any
way to change the default behavior of the search to show me only the Contacts
belonging to the Account which is assigned to this Case?

Mapping Ability Missing
I tried to do a mapping between the Account and the Contact. It did not work
properly so I went back to redo and the mapping option has disappeared. In
addition after that when I try to add a related contact from an Account it

I've noticed that certain entities (e.g. price list item, or customer
relationship) do not have the "Forms and Views" selection under entity

Suppressing HTML Codes
Has anyone been able to conquer the problem of email history being illegible
on a SRS report due to all the HTML codes? Right now we are restricting all
email from our reporting -- which removes about 70% of our activity info.

It is my understanding that if you're running CRM 3.0 Pro the only way to
intergrate faxing services is if you purchase an add-on from an ISV as

Quick Campaign Follow-up Task
If I create a Quick Campaign by viewing my active contacts, selecting one,
and then creating a quick campaign for the selected users, and then try to
create a follow-up task to the task created by the quick campaign, I get an
error message stating that the Parent is not valid. If I try to create any
follow-up activity besides a task, I do not get any error. Does anyone has
any ideas on anything that could be incorrect.

Disable\Hide Save & Close Button
Is there a way to disable or hide the Save & Close button in a form?
We are creating an address valadiation process to a 3rd party but would
like to force the users to hit the Save button. We would like to
remove the Save & Close option to keep them from closing the form. Any

CRM3 and Reporting Services not talking to each other...
Recently, we moved our SQL databases off the CRM server and on to a
dedicated SQL server running SQL 2005 x64. I migrated the databases
fine, but not the reports. After I realized my error, I noticed that
the reports were deleted when SQL was uninstalled from the CRM box
(licensing issues). So I ran the CRM Repair, and reinstalled the
reports.
Now I can access the reports by going to http://<report
server>/Reports, but cannot through CRM. I get the infamous 401:
Unauthorized message, and verified that the steps in a few KB articles
and technical documents from Microsoft were correct, and they were. The
report server is trusted to the CRM server in Active Directory, and the
NT AUTHORITY/Network Service and <domain>/<crm server>$ accounts are
"Publisher in Microsoft CRM"

Unhandled Exception Error when running Publishreports.exe
I was able to run this on the current reports server. But when I copied the
reports folder and the associated publish.config and publishreports.exe to
the new Reports Server I am receiving this error.

Users Can't advance Sales Process
It seems all my sales guys can't advance (save as complete) the sales process
I have activated. They just don't have the option in the file menu OR
toolbar. I see them on my account, Admin.
I can't find anything under user profiles or security that would effect

Cannot send direct emails - need a reference site
i was unable to send direct emails through the CRM, i ran a repair and found
several errors so i installed everything from scratch on a clean system.
Still i cannot send direct emails from My Workplace in CRM. But i can send
emails through the outlook on the client pc.
I have seen that most of the issues submitted here in the community, refer
to the inability of sending emails. therefore, i would like to speak with
someone who has his CRM up and working, as i have spent almost a week trying
to figure out what's going on.
i have also purchased MailMerge for including attachments in quick
campaigns, but since i cannot use quick campaigns for direct emails MailMerge
is useless to me.

I am new to CRM and am looking for some help with automating a couple of
fields. I have modifield the Tickes Form.
I added the 'modifield on' field to the ticket. Is there a way when any

More Addresses
We would like to make the Address Contact field under More Addresses
automatically populate with the contact or account (depending on which entity
you are in) Full Name. I have created some JavaScript in the OnLoad event of
the form but I can only get as far as getting the field to populate with the

Internet Explorer Intermittent Pausing
I have stumbled onto a new issue with one workstation using the CRM web
client. We have been using version 3.0 of CRM for some time now and it has
been working well. This particular workstation had recently been hit with a
spyware / spamware program which added a few add-ons (isaddon.dll and
iesplugin.dll) and now when CRM is first accessed, it will take 10-20 seconds
before the page finally loads. I of course have removed the spyware and all
the registry left overs, but the problem still persists. I have even
upgraded to IE 7.0 in hopes of curing the problem. There is no network
activity and no CPU activity while the browser waits to load. Once CRM
finally loads, it works fairly well and then out of the blue, a random screen
or button will be slow to operate. I have noticed that the idle time between
clicks has something to do with it. If I wait for CRM to load and then
quickly close and reopen it, it will pop right up. Close it again and wait
for 20 seconds, it is slow to open again. All the other workstations are
acting normally, so it has to be a client only issue.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Can Sales Process Stage appear in Opportunities View ?
I created a Sales Process Workflow (Manual) and would like to see the stage
that each opportunity is at when looking at the "My Opportunities" View (or
any other Opp. view). Is this possible?

Email activity in CRM with embedded images
When a e-mail is created fx in Word with one or more embedded images and send
as e-mail.
If such a mail is tracked in CRM an e-mail activity is created. But the
activity isn't shown correctly in CRM.
The mail text is shown with placeholders for the images. The images are
attached as Image001.jpg and image002.jpg.
When clicking on the Remove blocking link I would asume to see the correct
e-mail with the images. But instead I need to open the images individually.

Incoming emails are not tracking
I have CRM 3.0 and Exchange 2003. I have email tracking turned on. At the
moment I am only using the web client to test the system. When I send mail
it creates an activity and adds the tracking token just fine. However, when
I reply, the emails do go to the users box and forward to the CRM mailbox,
but no activities are created, eventhough the token is in tact. Does anyone
have any idea why this may be happening. It is important that I track

Is there functionality to audit changes made to records in CRM 3.0
I'm looking to find out if there's a way to audit the changes made to records
such as accounts in CRM 3.0. I'm specifically looking to track who an
account was assigned to in the past, when it was assigned, etc.

URGENT-Converting predefined e-mail templates to private templates
Dear all,
I want to convert predefined system templates to private ones by using the
option in "Action" button in menu bar but it gives a error saying that you do
not have the privlidges to do that even when i am logged in as system
administrator.

Error when migrating data from csv file to crm 3 using scribe
I have been trying to migrate data from a .csv file into MS CRM 3 using
scribe.
When I test the job after doing my connecting and datalinks it executes
properly, however, when I run the job it only does on average 12
successful inserts and 11 failed inserts then gives me an error.
The error is :"fatal error. Execution terminated - failuere fetching
source rows"
when I click on the error info button I get a database error " Error
1005. [22018] SQL call failed. Invalid character value" the details
of the message :"source[DataDirect][ODBC Driver]"
Could someone please help me resolve this problem. Not only am I not

Afterwards the Emails is listet under Email messages created.
But my problem is that I have to send them separately - Problem because
there is 2000 receipts.

Hello, I have 2 question related to advanced research:
1-Can I make and save parameterized views which take parameter in runtime?
2-can I custom the advance research form (for example can I custom the list
of fields displayed related to an entity on which I will perform the research
? for example I would omit some fields(criteria of research ) form the list
related to the account entity

Duplicate Detection
I ran duplicate detection last night, and nothing came up for matches. I know
we have duplicates in our CRM, has anybody had same issue or can give some
