We've recently moved our CRM install to another server. The web client is
working, but the SFO client is giving us trouble. When we go in to CRM for
Outlook, it takes a long time to load. Then, after doing one or two things,
it freezes up, then kicks us out of Outlook altogether.

Any ideas?

I'm wondering if we have the latest/greatest updates installed. How would I
go about determining what SFO version we're on (including updates)? And
what version is the latest/greatest?

did you un-install and re-install the SFO client after your server move? I
believe that is the only supported way to ensure the SFO will get pointed to
the the correct CRM server.

the most current patch for the SFO client is Update Rollup 2, which you can
download from the microsoft download site.

Thanks much Dave. I think we're using the latest update, who knows? Maybe
we missed something. That's why I was hoping to find and 'About' box
somewhere so I could see the version we're on. I'll try installing the
rollup you mentioned just to be sure.

I assumed that no uninstall/reinstall was necessary since the server name
didn't change. Perhaps I was mistaken. Will try that....

Problem is that the old version of the outlook client uses SQL replication
which needs to point to the right machine and there are registry keys that
contain the CRM server address. You might be able to get by with just
changing the regkey. It can be found under current
user\software\micrososft\mscrm.
