    - Sales Process - Activity Due Dates By default, the due dates for all activites in a sales stage are based on the start of the sales stage (i.e. Activity 1 - due in 2 days, etc.). Is there a way to make a later activity's due date be dependent on an earlier activity within the same sales stage (i.e. Activity 2 will be due 2 days after Activity 1 completes).     - What old software do I have to install to test CRM? I got my Microsoft Action Pack last week and converted all my test machines to SBS2003 and a couple of Windows 2003 Application Servers. Everything is working fine in the test environment for SBS 2003, Exchange 2003, and Outlook 2003. I am now getting ready to add CRM, and it looks like I have to reformat everything again and go back to the 4 year old software that I had on the test machines before in order to install CRM. Is there a compromise position where I can reformat one of the application servers as Windows 2000 with an Exchange 2000 and still keep AD on SBS 2003, and keep Exchange 2003 as my main exchange server for the test?     - ProductPriceLevel Entity - does this even exist in MSCRM? I'm reviewing the Sales Process within MSCRM. In reviewing the Product entity, I noticed that it (along with the PriceLevel entity) map to a ProductPriceLevel entity. Has anyone found this entity? It's not present schema manager however there is a ProductPriceLevelBase table in the <org>_MSCRM database.     - Problems concering contracts and cases Hi, First problem: I have a problem with deleting contracts. I can only delete contracts with status "draft", is that correct? I cannot even delete "cancelled" contracts. second problem: I have tried to renew a contract with one contract line.     - Email a KB article to person as part of a Case action? *Email a KB article to person as part of a Case action?* In CRM, we would like our Customer Service and Tech Support teams to use KB articles as the source for canned knowledge that can be related to cases and shipped to that cases's contact via email--and then of course have that action tracked in the case history -- ie. Sent Email: KB article #3494. What options do we have here? (Can we have something as simple as a "send as email" button click on the KB article where we can attach it to the case and then off it goes? ) Our concern at this point is manual copy/paste/make-a-note processes.     - MS Project 2000 I am facing difficulty in creating a filter of my project activities based on a specific "completion date only". Standard filters/sorts create a mix of all activities.     - SBS2003 and CRM I have converted my test lab to Windows 2003 and in particular SBS2003 with some Windows 2003 application servers. The SBS2003 is running Exchange 2003 and all the clients are running Outlook 2003 and SQL2000 SP3. Is it possible to install CRM on one of the Windows 2003 application servers and use Exchange 2003 or am I going to have to build a Windows 2000 box with Exchange 2000, and downgrade all the client Outlooks to Outlook 2000 or some other older Outlook?     - Wireless I need clairification on a wireless issue and I appologize if I post this in the wrong area. If you can find the proper area to post this please let me know because I search for 1 hour already. If 2 seperate LAN systen are running. The first LAN is NOT connected to the Internet for security reasons. The second LAN is using the Wireless Microsoft MN-500 Wireless router and does have an Internet connection through High Spead cable. The IT Security team says that signal emmisions emmitted from the unshielded CAT5 wireing on LAN(1) are broadcasting inside of the wireless bubble. They also say that if a hacker (with a wireless reciever NIC) gets in into the wireless LAN (which is no doubt possible) they could then grab the packets floating around from system (1). I'm wondering if this is actually true, because if the hacker connected to the Wireless LAN , which has it's own DNS, DHCP, Gateway and Subnet can they sniff packets that might be floating around that are from an entirely different DNS, DHCP, Gateway and Subnet? Or if they have a wireless reciever NIC can they just scan within the bubble for any packets of information without needing to make a connection to a Network?     - Minimum System Requirements? I am planning on setting up CRM and SQL 2000 on a 2.8Ghz Pentium IV with 1028 Meg RAM and a RAID 5 (three Drive) system. I see that Microsoft says Dual PIII 700 Mhz as minumum and Dual 1.8Ghz Xeon is recommended. I have only 10 to 12 reps that will be using CRM (mix sometimes thru Outlook and Sometimes thru Web access). Does this server system sound sufficient to support this minimum load on CRM?     - Server install Hi, I have installed MSCRM using a license key assigned to my company. This installation all went ok (production environment). I would also like to install another instance of the application on a separate server but in the same domain using the Adventure Works Cycle license for a dev/ test environment. However the installation for the Adventure Works Cycle database gets the following error right at the end of the server install: Failed to install Customer Relationship Management Server Failed to provision your initial business Failed to create root business Catastophic Failure (8000FFFF) Has anyone experienced this before? The 2nd server that I install this on seems to be talking to the domain and AD ok, because it creates the Organisational unit within the AD. Any help would be appreciated.     - User Manager Wizard and Microsoft CRM Security Service I am trying to run Microsoft CRM Standard Suite on Windows 2003 Server Enterprise Edition. I have followed all of the instructions in the Implementation Guide, but when I try to add users, it gives me this error message: "The server localhost is not responding. This might happen if it is currently unavailable, it is not a Microsoft CRM server, or you do not have sufficient privileges to run User Manager." In the error log, I get these messages (oldest to newest): Source: W3SVC-WP Event Id: 2214 Description: The HTTP Filter DLL c:\inetpub\wwwroot\bin\fpexedll.dll. The data is the error. Data (bytes): 0000: 7e 00 00 00 ~. Source: W3SVC-WP Event Id: 2269 Description: Could not load all ISAPI filters for site/service. Therefore startup aborted. Data (bytes): 0000: 7e 00 00 00 ~. Also, when Windows 2003 Server boots up, the CRM security service fails to start because "it did not respond in a timely fashion". Any help on either of these matters would be greatly appreciated.     - CRM Product Kits? I've been looking into the whole Product and Price list area and I can't quite figure out the Kitting functionality. For example, I'm playing with the sample database and I created a new "bike", but I would like this bike to be a "Kit" of various components. So I create the "bike" product, save it, then under Actions, I click Convert to Kit. Ok, now I have "Kit Products" on the left side of my bike product and I can add various components. Great. Now my main question is, how does pricing get involved in all this? Its obviously not automatic as the price hasn't changed for my new bike that I have created. I essentially want the bike to be calculated solely on the components. Whats really sad is that in this entire sample database there is not a single kitted product.     - When are Mapped Fields Populated? When are mapped fields populated? Is it only when entities are converted? I have added 2 custom fields of the same type and length in the Account and CustomerAddress entities using the Deployment Manager, and mapped the fields under Account (only account) Published those modifications, then added the fields to tabs on the Account and AdditionalAddress forms. Published the modifications using the Deployment Manager, reset IIS and added an account record populating the field. Saved the record and added an additional address, hoping that the field would be populated with the same information as I entered into the Account - but it was not.     - Question regarding CRM Activity I'm trying to create a new Activity in CRM Sales for Outlook, specifically an Appointment. I am trying to include another CRM user in the appointment, and would hope that CRM would notify said user via email. What happens is CRM addresses the user by his domain login, and Outlook does not properly associate any email address with this user (even though his email is set properly within Active Directory). Am I expecting too much out of CRM and Outlook? Is there some blatantly obvious configuration that I'm missing? This seems like it should be core functionality, but I'm stumped.     - Running WF Rule from Jscript Has anyone figured out how to run a WF rule from a script? I want to run a WF rule depending on the pick list value selected. I can make this work in WF using a Create rule that waits for the pick list to be a certain value. However, this will not work after the target pick list value is selected and the Rule is run. Therefore, I'd like to initiate the WF rule from script since there is not OnSave event for WF to check the pick list. Of course, the inherent danger here is user error (if the incorrect pick list value is selected, saved, and then corrected). The possibility of having 2 WFs running can bog the system. Try going to MS and retrieving the latest version of the IE browser for Mac.
It may support the IE5.5 customizations to make it work, but I doubt it.
