    - Activity -- problem opening existing Activity We are experiencing a problem when trying to open certain activities. The activity will not open and eventually we get a timeout. What we have found is that in the ActivityPartyBase table for these activities, instead of a few entries for the particular ActivityId, there are over 15,000 entries each with the same ActivityId but different ActivityPartyId values. It seems that the inability to open the activity in CRM is due to all those records in ActivityPartyBase. This is only happening periodically with a small number of activities and appears to be random. Has anyone seen this and does anyone know the solution to this problem?     - Advanced Customisation Please advise if anyone has done anything like this before with MSCRM 1.2 Simple customisation of forms and views is OK. Option 2 is to write your own app based on the API. OK also. Option 3 though: I'll give you an example... On the Contract List form you have Tools/Advanced Find Option but if you go into the details of a single contract you lose the Advanced Find menu item. I would like to be able to hook up Advanced Find to this form. Has anyone done this sort of thing (not that particular customisation but that kind of customisation). I'm telling myself that they are just aspx pages so it should be no big deal, except for the fact that simple customisations are stored in xml files and therefore there is that added layer of complication.     - Create new Database and Configure Synchronization Hi all, I would like to create a new database/table to save information on the Oppurtunity -> Competitor/Partner form to the local MSDE when a user is offline. When the user goes online again, I would like to set up the replication so that the data (Competitor/Partner information) stored locally on the MSDE is synched back to the CRM Database (in which case I think I'll have to add a new database/table to the CRM Datastore as well, since it does not have the table I want).     - How do you Print Orders? Seemingly simple question here, but I cannot figure out the answer. Or at least the easy answer How do I print a complete order? I fill in products, quanities, recalculate values and now I want to print and fax the quote to the customer... If I hit the print button on the quote, it prints all info from each of the tabs on the account. It does not refer to the products or quantities. If I go to the product level, hit the print (on the individual window, not the main window) button, it prints the product(s) chosen, price per unit, quantity and extended amount for products that are on that screen (no write in products) and no information about the customer. Not very useful. If I change to the write in product tab, it does the same as above, ignoring existing product and customer info... If you promote to an Order, same deal.     - CRM for international companies - multiple currencies Hi, Being an international company, our pricelists are in different currencies. MS CRM stores the currency on the Organization level and not on the Business Unit level, which essentially prevents our use of it. (1) Any suggestions for a way to overcome this problem (besides "translating" the EU, EMEA and US pricelist to one currency, e.g. dollars, or waiting for CRM 2.0) ? (2) I noticed that the database schema contains "Organization ID" for all basic tables. This probably means that multiple organizations can run on the same CRM server. Currently, I can't see any way to add another organization. Is this feature coming up ? This can solve the currency problem but probably create administrative and reporting problems (e.g. the CEO wants to see one pipeline report).     - Data Migration Framework failed Hi, I tried to use the DMF to migrate simple data in the CRM. But it failed. It is a very simple scenario. I have a csv-File with only an AccountNumber and Name. I tried different cases. First the one above but it failed because the AccountID can not be NULL in the CDF database. Then I generate my own IDs but still no effect. So I tried to set the AccountID as identy row but again no success. Then I added a forth column in my source csv-file which has the OwningUserName in it. I fired the stored procedure to map the users. But the migration still won´t work. I get the data in the CDF Database but when I run the migration tool all completed with no errors but I have no data in my account table in the mscrm database. What is my fault? I tried this for such a long time but no success. Hope someone can help me. There are some spread sheets to do the mapping provided by Mircosoft but they need to be revised.     - Wrong translation to Dutch The Dutch version of CRM contains a strange translation. The search buttons all contain the text: "maken", which means "create". I think this has to be: "zoeken", which means "search". Is there a possibility for us to change this ourselves? It's a bit messy to deploy this to a client.     - Ongoing problem with CRM Sales Client I have tried what Suzanne said about the folders - it makes no difference. I have decided to go one step further and Ive managed to capture roughly what the problem looks like in the "message" side right pane so its easier to understand the problem. There is nothing wrong with the CRM folders present themselves they are all there. Note it also results in an object expected error (javascript I think). And this is what the output looks like, this should be a close resemblance of the actual bare result. Does anybody know of a Client Web Interface kind which can be used by my end customers to submit bugs and issues over the internet.     - Portability I have a fairly complex quote module programed in Access 2 K that is working great. I would like to know if this same type of quotation process can be ported to MSCRM or be programed into MSCRM. I will give example of 1 function of the program. If this can be accomplished then the other two steps to calculate our [TotalExpectedCost] should work also. Based on where the customer wants us to pick up their shipment and where they want us to deliver their shipment we do the following. IE: pick up in Airport Code = BOS [OriginAPCode] and deliver in LAX [DestAPCode] We search our sql table of [LineHaulCarriers] to determine which Line Haul Carrier's service that city pair. [OriginAPCode]="BOS" and [DestAPCode] = "LAX" Depending on the estimated weight the customer will be shipping we calculate our costs for each line haul carrier that meets the criteria. Our present system displays all the line haul carriers charges, highlights the lowest cost line haul carrier, and then saves the lowest cost carrier's charges in a variable which we use to calculate our [TotalExpectedCost] The other two parts of the equation are the Pick up charges and the delivery charges. They basically do the same thing as above. We just add all the variables together and put our mark up on the order. I am running it on SBS2003 with no issues. Of course because SBS
incorporates a lot of software it does pay to monitor the server more
closely than normal as its usually hosting a domain controller, exchange,
sql , crm and more

make darn sure you follow the "recommend" procedure of
creating a new web site and installing to that. Otherwise
you will wipe out SharePoint Services. I've discovered
it's easier to do a complete reinstall of SBS then
restore SPS.
