    - Moving picture Hi, I have an app which displays a sequence of png images, these are copied into PictureBox as shown below. This sequence is done in its own thread, its just that the single line 'picImage.Image = New Bitmap(arrimg(cnt) & ".png")' is killing performance, also generating InvalidCastException. How can i improve this? Basically it cycles through an array of png files under timer control.     - Consuming webservices from a smart device project ... <Method>Async() web method calls missing in the reference.cs ... I thought of posting this to microsoft webservices NG but there is no activity in those news groups. I am consuming webservices API published by salesforce.com by adding a web reference to a smart device project. Somehow the reference.cs does not contain method calls such as MethodAsync() which I think are new in .NET 2.0. Am I wrong some where here. When I create an Asp.NET 2.0 Hello World webservice on my box and add a web reference to it in my smart device project, I can see HelloWorldAsync() web method.     - Dynamic event binding Hi, I'm looking for any info on binding dynamic events in C# for CF. I need to create a delegate at runtime that associates an unknown runtime event with a handler. In the standard framework, I used the following to bind the event to the 'ProcessEvent" operation, EventInfo eventInfo = value; object EventPublisher = someEventSource; MethodInfo mi = typeof(this).GetMethod("ProcessEvent", BindingFlags.NonPublic | BindingFlags.Instance); Delegate eventDelegate = Delegate.CreateDelegate(eventInfo.EventHandlerType, this, mi); eventInfo.AddEventHandler(eventPublisher, eventDelegate); This works fine, however, Delegate.CreateDelegate is not supported in CF, so I tried this alternative :- EventHandler eHT = new EventHandler(this.ProcessEvent); eventInfo.AddEventHandler(eventPublisher, eHT); The problem with this is that it only works with System.EventHandler. I'm happy to do it with a utility or in my app. This is for am incar application so the device will power on when the ignition is switched on. I was thinking about using the CeRunAppAtEvent but NOTIFICATION_EVENT_ON_AC_POWER is not supported on my devices. If there is no software way to do this, perhaps there is a way to wire the power cable up to one of the usb pins so the device thinks there is a usb connection available - it wakes up for that.     - Random App Crash Hi All, i've developed this Smart Device Application but i'm having all sorts of random crashing i suspect to be caused by memory leaks or over all performance issues, so i've ran the performance test to evaluate the problems now i have these different reports and can't seem to see the causing problem. here is a copy of the report ran when the application ended by crashing. what i did was started the application and opened like 4 or 5 times one form that's tied to a button and closed that form. This morning I tried opening the project as usual but it returned the following error: The web server reported the following error when attempting to create or open the web project located a the following URL: 'http://localhost/YLCPDTdb'. All i can think of is that i connected enterprise manager to a server on discountasp.net as i am in the process of deploying the application online. What about if a user install a dozen of apps that require the CF ? With this scenario, every app is responsible to install the CF... So if X apps require the CF, the CF cabs will be copied X times ? I've take a look at the redistribuable package of the CF 2.0. This seems to be targetting a developper audience (since it installs in a SDK folder, and installs some CF DLL on the "dev" computer)... unlike the .Net CF 1.0 SP3 (I remember it installed only the cab files and a ini file, before deploying it actually). The problem is that when I use GPRS connection averything is fine but just for the first time the connection is made.
