 - Windows mobile 6 emulator. The Breakpoint will not currently be hit. Hi, I have created one application using C# for Windows mobile 6. I am not able to debug the application. When I set a breakpoint on any line, debugger does not stop in the breakpoint. "The breakpoint will not currently be hit. The specified module have not been loaded" is the message shown in the breakpoint. The configuration is set as "Debug". This is the first time I am creating an application for Windows Mobile 6.  - No break event on serial port (Pocket PC 2003) Dear all, i'm having an issue while connecting a Pocket PC to a PC through the serial interface. I'm implementing code in C#. When i set the SerialPort breakstate = true, I do not receive a PinChanged (BreakEvent) on the serial port of the Pocket PC. I do receive other PinChanged events (eg CtsChanged, CDChanged, ...) However, when I connect two PC's it works fine. Actually, I want to connect a certain device to the Pocket PC through the serial port. This device generates a Break event, which I need to catch. I'm using the Compact Framework 2.0, which imho supports SerialPort objects. Has anyone had similar problems or has an answer to this problem? I developped a authentication system that will check the password on a sqlce database, and then redirect the User on different websites in dependence of the user access rights. When the login data are checked, I create a cookie that is send to the page to which the user is redirected by response.redirect("xxx.asp").In fact I'm using asp with vbscripts. I want to make at the top of the target site a check of this cookie, to ensure that the user not simply came there by typing the right url. I need to have several date fields, but some of these dates may not be known or may never be used, such as dates for pre-trial hearings or pre-pleading report submitted. Is there some nice DateTimePicker control that understands that a date can be null (or just blank)?  - Forms not completely disposing... Compact Framework 2 - SP2 Setup the project... Form1 that contains two buttons and an input panel. Form2 that contains one label and an input panel. Form2's constructor has an integer as an parameter. This will be the identifier when the form shows it status message. Everytime the input panel changes enable state the form will popup a messagebox with the id and the panel's state. Form1's buttons are exactly the same in that both will create a variable for Form2 then call the ShowDialog method. The difference is that one will call the dispose method after displaying the form. Setup the problem... When you click either button the Form2 will popup then you can click the OK button. Once you click the button to close the form the messagebox will popup and state "Form2 - 0: False". Close the messagebox. At this point I expect the Form2 variable to be dispose and irrelevant. Enter the problem... Now if you click Form1's input panel you will get a message from the Form2 that states "Form2 - 0: True". At this point you shouldn't be running any code in Form2...  - Add Certificate Root Is there are way to add a certificate root via the .NET Compact Framework? I have an application running on a Windows Mobile PocketPC 2003 device. It needs to talk to a Web Service that I have also built. The web service is using SSL with a certificate issued by Go Daddy. The Go Daddy root certificate is not recognized by the PoketPC. I have found the SmartPhoneAddCert (SpAddCert.exe) example from Microsoft, but I would like to be able to add the root cert from my application (so that the end user does not need to go through all the extra steps).  - soft keys on pocketpc 2003 devices Hi, Does'nt PPC 2003 devices support soft keys like the soft keys on WM PPC devices. I require this kind of a key to support 5-way navigation in my app. The four soft keys on the PPC 2003 are for 'start','landscape','pop-up menu','close'. Theres no other key that opens up the main menu when hit. Can I override the functionality of any of these four keys to make it act as a soft key that opens main menu? Any other idea??  - Extending the Datagrid to provide scrolling? Hi, I am looking to provide scrolling (noth horizontally and vertically) in a Datagrid using Button controls outside the grid. This is an effort to improve user accessibility due to the small size of the standard scroll bar buttons. I can't see any way to programatically scroll the datagrid and was wondering if I can extend the control in someway to provide this functionality.  - Crypto key pair container protection Hi everyone, I am trying to figure out a way to protect a key pair keystore ( specifically the private key ) similarly to the way the MS CSP does on desktops. The cspParams flag "UseUserProtectedKey" does not seem to be implemented. Specifically, I wish the user to authenticate the use of the private key ( at the CSP level) because the windows mobile platform it seems that any app can use keys in any keystore.  - Framework 3.0 Hi group, I had a VS 2005 pro SP1, with lots of SDK, PPC 2005, WCE 2005, Mobile 2005, PPC 2003, and some framework 3 beta tools, WWF SDK, and may be other tools. I don't remember because it installed them a long time ago. Then, this week, i have to install the new Win FX SDK (WPF/E SDK.msi Feb 2007), and must uninstall old beta tools. I have done this using vs_uninst_winfx.exe. oll works fine and i can make xaml projects. Then i have install Microsoft expression Blend to make animations, all right. Now i come back on an old project on PPC 2005. And the project does not load ! I get 2 error messages when oppening any device project. the errors are in french so excuse me for the translation - (in french in the message box : ) error when extracting data from the user data storage. (in english in the same message :) the system cannot locate the object specified - (in french) impossible to open the project, because it references a device platform that does not exist in your data storage the Pocket PC 2005 project type have disapear from the list of project (when i click on add new project) So i have repair the PPC2005 SDK, and it come back in the list. But it still doesn't work. when i try to create or open any device project i get this two errors. Is there any known problem about this ? is it vs_uninst_winfx that have uninstall too much stuff ?  - Value in DataTable not changing when new value assigned VS2005, C#, Win CE 5. I have a very strange problem which must have a simple answer. I am new to .NET. I am reading a simple XML file into a DataSet (1 table, 5 rows, 2 string fields per row). This works ok, I can see the data in the debugger QuickWatch window. I want to change the value of a string field in the DataSet table currently set to "123": MyDataTable.Rows[2].ItemArray[1] = "xyz" It does not change! It is still "123" immediately after this line and no exception. The RowState before and after this line is "Unchanged" How can this be? The DataSet is not read only (and I assume if it was, then an exception would be generated when trying to change the value). Any help extremely welcome. John. I have an application that will be running on a PC in a public WiFi hot spot area. People at the WiFi hot spot will access a website that is hosted on a different PC.  - Public Enum no longer public Hi all, We have a public enumeration in one module of our code. It's declared like this: Public Enum CardReaderState as Integer Waiting_For_Card = 0 Card_In_Reader = 1 End Enum (of course, there are enumerations in the real code). All has been working fine in Visual Studio 2003. Now we're slowly migrating to VS2005. One of my collegues is checking out modules and changing small things (making sure all constants are declared with a type, etc) and checking that back into SourceSafe. In the meantime, I'm continuing support for the 2003 version of the program (with the changes he's made). Somtime in the last week or so (and I'm not at ALL convinced that it's related to the 2005 move) modules in my code don't recognize this public enumeration unless I either 1) fully qualify the name of the enumeration (i.e., instead of using CardReaderState.Waiting_For_Card, I have to use sg.modControlBoardComm.CardReaderState.Waiting_For_Card) or 2) I can do an "imports sg.modControlBoardComm" at the top of the other module.  - Issue using serial communications. I have a simple test application that displays barcode data. The barcode scanner works via serial port communications. I am able to scan about 15 - 20 barcodes successfully then I recieve an incomplete barcode scan (partial data), then the next scan always return no data. After that I'm able to scan another 15 - 20 times correctly, then incomplete scan data followed a scan with no data (and on and on . .). I've tried clearing the buffer after every DataRecieved event, but this seems to have no effect. Can anyone suggest what type of issue I'm running into?  - question re: data import from remote SQL to sqlCE database Hi there, i've recently changed my code to use sqlceResultSet with great performance increase but i just had a question in general. Im using an imate JAMIN, and when i connect to remote database, get the sqlDataReader and start looping through it and adding the items to my local table, i notice on certain tables the import speed starts to drop, on some tables more, on others less, can anyone explain this? ex. i have 1 table that imports 400 products and after about 250 records, the import speed slows down and looks like pretty much the same performance as cmd.ExecuteNonQuery compared to the sqlCeResultSet row insert. Could it have anything to do with the datatypes being used in the local tables? Also i'm importing unicode data but i dont think this should make much difference or does it?  - Unable to kill application I am writiing an application in c# targeting window mobile 5.0. The project consists of one application(lets call it main) which needs to start another application. I do this using process class. this part works fine. Now when my other application starts, i need to hide it. i do that using this.hide(). Now I need to kill this applicatiion from my main application. which I am unable to do. process.kill, process.close, process.closemainwindowhandle all fail.  - My program's memory up and down / Windows steadily rising Hi all, I inherited this Windows CE.net application and I've got some strange memory stuff going on. I was using the gc.totalmemoryused function to track the memory used by my program. At the same time I was manually going into Windows to the control panel / system / memory to find out what the program memory used was. I plotted these two numbers on a graph and I can see that while my program's memory used is up and down (as is to be expected with garbage collection), Windows memory is steadily growing over time. I don't understand what's going on. My program is the only thing that is running on this machine so I don't understand why Windows memory is growing. Any ideas of what I could look for, please?  - I can't connect visual studio 2005 to my wince 5.0 device I have just upgraded to wince 5.0 and visual studio .net 2005. I am trying to simply connect from visual studio to debug and run a hello world. I am connected via activesync, so I can copy files back and forth. However, when I hit "connect to device", it tells me "Connection failed. The bootstrap could not be loaded". I've seen lots of articles on variations of connecting to the device, but none that explain how to do it in the most basic way, which is ActiveSync over USB. I'm guessing this is because it is supposed to be simple. Howver, I had similar issues on 4.2, and ended up having to have files copied to the device (toolhelp.dll and delcryptokeys), and jump through lots of hoops, none of which were explained in any documentation. Hi,

I have some software (on my PC) that polls my Bluetooth devices for
services. I have noticed that on my smart phone (Blackjack) when a
service is discovered the device comes out of sleep mode and the
backlight and keys light turn on. This causes my battery to drain
faster if the service polling occurs often.

I cant adjust the polling frequency.

Is there a way to keep the device lights from turning on when
Bluetooth services are found? perhaps through a registry setting or
message filtering. I would prefer a device configuration (registry)
modification over an application that filters windows messages.

This ability is vital!
