Hi all,

We encouter the problem that some of pda database from end user are
enlarged remarkbly from ~ 70 MBs up to 100 MBs. We've tried to compact
and it becomes smaller of 67 MBs. Thus we have a couple of questions:
- Why have only around 3, 4 pda per 100 pda encountered this problem?
It should be happened for all pda?
- Can we avoid the database increasing so that we do not need to
compact DB?

Thanks in advance,
KNC

Are you using SQL CE 2.0? If so, the database does not shrink
automatically - you have to manually compact it. What is the database usage
pattern of the PDAs where you find the enlarged databases?

Hi,

I can see the About dialog of SQL CE Query Analyzer to show "Query
Analyzer: 02.00.441500", CopyRight 2002 Microsoft Corporation.
I am sorry that I don't understand the meaning of "database usage
pattern of the PDAs where you find the enlarged databases?". Could your
explain more?

The most important things I'd like to stress are:
- Why this does not happened for all PDAs?
- Can we know somehow to prevent this problem? (without compact
regularly)

Thanks,
KNC
