I've downloaded and installed the CE 5.0 Device Emulator but it doesn't seem
to be displaying in VS05's project properties Devices tab's Target device
combo box. What else do I need to do to get it to show?

Ah. I see. Unlike previous installations, the emulator is not so tightly
coupled to the development environment. The emulator installation process
created a menu entry under the stat button and it is necessary to manually
start the emulator from there.

If you target an actual device emulator (an emulator that represents a
specific device), no, VS2005 will start it for you. You can do that with a
WM5 for Pocket PC project, if you target the emulator, for example. Per
another of your threads, you seem to be missing the SDK for that...

Ah, that makes sense. I'm a little confused on which products I should
actually have installed in order to develop .NET C# applications for my Dell
Axim PDA, which has 2005 on it. I'm an MSN subscriber so I have all of the
DVDs. Which products in addition to VS05 should I also install?

I'd install that download of the WM5 Pocket PC SDK. I don't know that it's
on MSDN and looking for it via the index would take longer than just
downloading it from microsoft.com.
