Is there any way to determine the control that the X,Y belongs to from this message?     - Terminate Application Hi there, I have an application that opens a main menu form (frmMenu) from which users can open different utilities. When they select one, a new form opens on top of the menu form (frmUtil1, frmUtil2 etc). Is it possible to completely terminate the application from one of the forms sitting on top of the menu form? I can think of several crude ways of doing this but I'd like to know if there is any simple way of terminating the appliation at any time. The application is written in VB.Net in Visual Studio 2003 and runs on Symbol PPT 8846's running PPC2003 and CFsp2.     - GPRS truncates soap messages Hi, I have a .net cf application that sends a dataset to an Xml web service. If I'm connected to the lan, it works properly, but if I try with gprs, the webservice returns me a soapformatexception. It seems that gprs connection truncates the dataset, so the webservice can't recognize it. It so strange, because if I pass a Dataset from the webservice to the pda, there's no problem...     - Problem using Sockets on Windows CE 4.2 .net in C# I have an application that serves as a server that cliets hug into using asyncrone socket communication. it works fine most of the time, but from time to time i get and exception: Exception: System.IO.IOException Message: Unable to read data from the transport connection. Nested Exception Exception: System.Net.Sockets.SocketException Message: A blocking operation was interrupted by a call to WSACancelBlockingCall I cant do any thing to reproduce it regular, it happens from time to time.     - Repost: Switching between forms leaves forms minimized I enclose a simple application to show this. This can be seen on the emulator as well as on the device. The app. simply navigates between the two forms. When the app. starts up, the first form is maximized (i.e. not an icon on the taskbar). However, navigating to the next form causes the second form to be minimized on the task bar even though I have set this.WindowState = FormWindowState.Maximized; in both the constructor and On_Load event in both forms. By googling on the group, I found that this.FormBorderStyle = FormBorderStyle.None; forces the windows to maximize but they minimize first and then maximize which causes the screen to "flash" and looks ugly. Also, in this mode, the "Show desktop" icon in the lower right-hand corner is no longer functional. Can anyone shed some light on this?     - Dynamic controls and handlers I have a form with a number of buttons that are generated in a panel based on the results of a query. They all use the same click event handler. I am having trouble determining which button was pressed. I can only go by the button text or the button position to distinguish them - neither of which works well for my situation. Is there a better way? Should I create my own button class inheiriting Button and add my own custom id fields?     - Exception Handling Can anyone recommend a good way to handle exceptions with the CF. I know there is the Exception Management Application Block which is supposed to represent Microsoft's 'Best Practices' but this seems like overkill to use with PocketPC. Are there andy Application Blocks targeted at CF? Surely there is a light weight version of this that allows for centralized error logging/display.     - WebRequest.Timeout bugs? I'm trying to understand why our mobile client isn't behaving gracefully with a "hung" server. The server is accepting web requests, but then not responding to them. Obviously we're working on that side of the problem too, but we thought that by putting a timeout on the WebRequest, and backing off in the same was as we do for other errors, that we'd have a robust system. Apparently we don't. I'm being absolutely rigorous in cleaning up - not only am I calling Close() on every WebResponse received (including those embedded in WebExceptions) but I'm also closing the ResponseStream - hopefully unnecessarily. The situation is slightly complicated by the server being hung in such a way that the first request is rejected (correctly) with a 401 response due to the way our authentication works. (The first request for any client is a 401 with a nonce to use for future authentication.) The first request works fine with a suitably high timeout, although it *does* time out if the timeout is set very low. The second request (which the server actually hangs on) never seems to time out. It's as if the timeout only applies from the start of the call (WebRequest.GetResponse) to the time at which the connection is actually made.     - Serial Port programming with OpenNetCF Question To all, I've used the OpenNetCF classes to build a demo program to test serial port communication, but somehow I don't really know how to send data since the example I've got is only how to receive data. Questions: 1) can I really write such a demo program using the VS.Net Emulator ?? You could do that by setting width to -1.     - XMLInclude Problem in CF.NET Hi! I have a WebService, that returns an array of some messages. Each message type is a class, derived from base class MESSAGE. XMLInclude is present. If I use my WebService with namespace "http://tempuri.org", everything works fine on both regular and Compact Framework. Since I'm going to use "http://mycompany.com" it gives me an InvalidOperationException "Cannot find type for http://tempuri.org/:FOO" on CF.NET. (FOO ist a message type, derived from MESSAGE). Alright I am just about to start development on a new app and could do with a bit of help :) I've got two ideas and just wondering which people think is the best or quickest. 1: I have a table (2 columns), it is used as a "lookup" table i.e. Item Code crisps 1 coke 2 etc... My main table which stores my data has a field called "ItemCode" which holds the code. I want to have a combobox that shows the "Item" field from the lookup table but is bound to Item in my other table. 2: combo box shows fields but isnt bound and then when the save button is pressed an sql statement is executed which updates the row with the new value. I think this method maybe slower when moving records because ill have to set the values of all controls where as with method 1 they will be bound.     - Thread not starting I've got a problem starting a thread in c#. Hi,

This morning everythink work fine till now.

ActiveSync works, but the connection to the device with Studio .NET =
can't be established.
Error Message "check if your device is physicly connected to the develop =
machine" (translated from my german message)
I already restarted my machine several times - without succes.

So I already installt the Framework manual (with the installer Tool from =
Framework 1.0 SP2)
But wenn i start my Install .cab file on the device, a message is shown =
telling me to
install the 'netcf.all.wce4.ARMV4.cab'. It's installed 3 second before!

When i start the application on the device i got the error code =
0x80000002.
On win32 it's out of memory, but it's a very small test application.

I already tested the communcation on a second machine - same error =
message!

I guess i have to delete several registry entries to get the Device =
working, but i quiet don't know what to do!

Some Information about the device:
WinCE .NET 4.0
ARM with 200 Mhz
64 MB RAM (48 MB for Programm usage)

I'm helpless!
