    - Microsoft.XMLHTTP I've been searching everywhere online to find an alternative method besides using Microsoft.XMLHTTP (as it freezes the server up alot!!) but with no luck at all. I am using server side ASP, and some said to use Microsoft.ServerXMLHTTP instead. However I have tried that as well and it still freezes up the whole thing (i.e. the site just keeps loading forever). I tried to do a "on error resume next" clause to catch the error but still doesn't stop the page being freezing up.. :( I saw someone here said don't use XMLHTTP in ASP as it is not thread safe (is that why it is freezing up??), and suggest to use MSXML2.ServerXMLHTTP.3.0. so do anyone know if MSXML2.ServerXMLHTTP.3.0 will help? i.e. not freezing up the page? (AddMessage stores an error message. It works fine). When zip is not given, the page blows up. I've experimented with taking the values of various functions of Request.Form("zip"), with the following results: zip= IsEmpty(zip)=False IsNull(zip)=False Len(zip)=0 Trim(zip)= IsEmpty(Trim(zip))= IsNull(Trim(zip))= len(Trim(Zip))= So Request.Form("zip") is not Empty, it's not Null, and its Len is 0. But once I apply Trim to it, everything goes to heck. IsEmpty, IsNull, and Len return nothing at all, and I get no error message.     - IIS 5.1, ASp.net 2.0 and session state HEllo, I hav developed web application using ASP.net 2.0 there are just 2 pages only. Both are works fine in visual studio. But same when i run on IIS 5.1 ....the page without session variable works fine. But the page with...even the Sub() with session variable won't works.....even it automatically reaches the last sub of the program. The matter is that I want no Internet explorer window to be opened. I do not need to see anything in the page. This ASP page just executes an DB actualization, so it just have to be run.     - Emailing Form Results in HTML Hi, I have a form (it works fine) but what I want to do is email the form exactly as it is with the populated information. In otherwords, I want the email sent to look just like the form that was filled out. I was able to get it close but the problem I am having is that the form has a table in it and the table uses a background JPG; but for some reason image is not being included in the email and I'm stumped as to how to get it in there where it belongs.     - Don't submit form on Enter button Who knows how to prevent submitting a form on the press Enter button before all fields on the form are filled up. People just enter the first field hit Enter and it submits the form and doing validation, of course flushing with the bunch of messages because rest of the fields are empty. I remember I had some pages where wrote the code to go on the next field when pressed the Enter button (Tab like), because it didn't go anywhere at all. Tested it on a few machines, same result.     - Submit scores to e-mail using asp Hi I design and update the internal intranet for an insurance company and have taught myself HTML and asp. I know enough to design feedback forms, use java scripts and can just about submit information to a databse but i dont know how to create a script to calculate a score of a quiz i have created. I can submit the information via e-mail using arial buttons to detrmin whether the answer is 'correct' or 'incorrect' but now i am wanting the script to count if the user answers correct. Any advise? However, I can't simply do a sql statement anymore. The new integration will be using ASP.NET in C#. Here is the new flow per our new software: - Pass the parameters to the ASP.NET pages, the code behind it will be written in C#. - It will pass the data thru the Web Services, and then to the message queue. - From there Navision Application Server will pick up the data from message queue and their programmers will write up the codeunit at Navision for creating the SO (for example) and return some other variables back to the message queue. - And the same asp.net page will pick up the return variables and display accordingly. Here is my question, how do I suppose to pass the variables from ASP page to ASP.NET page and get the variables back afterwards effectively? I don't want to change the whole ASP pages into ASP.NET pages as we have so many customizations built into it already. I did think of a way but that require to build down the whole flow into many different pages. And too bad that Server.Execute can't pass the query string. I have a form that a user submits their clan's website, and roster page. What I want to do, is check to see if the field submitted contained "http://" and if not, add it to the field submission.     - Using Text File to Store User Data vs. Database I want to know if this practice is effective and secure: I have been thinking about storing some data, which my users upload, in text files rather than database, since often I do not know how much information users submit for things like item description or images URL paths. This information may be very short or very long. MS SQL Server requires a maximum field length to be set. Thus, if user enters 5 characters into 5000 character field, a lot of space will be wasted.
